I've been trying to add a new email address/account on Windows 11 with Thunderbird 143.0 (64-bit). I've never had an issue adding email addresses/accounts previously. . I continually get this error message: Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIMsgAccountManager.createIncomingServer]

I can log into this email account on roundcube (email client) without any issues using the same pword, but when I try to set up this email on thunderbird I get this error.

I get this error at the final "Enter Password" screen and can not finish the setup.

When I first installed Thunderbird and added an email account it asked for the email address, take and password. Upon setting up additional accounts it only asks for name and email address, not the password. There is no option to enter email details manually. The only manual option available is to configure an email config after it has been added. The adding of email addresses should be presented the same way as the very first initial email setup upon install. This isn't happening. I've used three separate terminal to do this on Mac and Win platform: Same issue.

Hello everybody, I have 5 accounts managed with Thunderbird. They are named provider, provider-1 up to provider-4. I don't know, which Thunderbird-Account belongs to which Provider-Account. Is there any possibility to find out, which Thunderbird-Account belongs to which Provider-Account and to save one of these 5 Thunderbird-Accounts on disk?

I'm having a bit of an issue with moving emails between my accounts in Thunderbird, and I'm hoping someone can shed some light on what I'm doing wrong.

When I move an email from one account (let's call it the source) to another (the destination), it seems to only move it locally on my computer. The email appears in the destination folder, but it never actually gets deleted from the source account's server.

If I click on the inbox of the source account again, Thunderbird just re-syncs with the server and downloads the same email all over again. In my mind, when I "move" something, it should be gone from the original location. It feels more like a "copy and then forget to delete" situation.

I'm trying to figure out how to make the "move" action permanent. I want the email to be completely removed from the source account when I move it, not just hidden on my local client until the next sync.

Is there a setting I'm missing, or is this just how Thunderbird handles moving emails between accounts? It's making it a real headache to keep my inboxes organized.

I have deleted the account along with the saved password for the account in question yet I keep getting requests to verify identity and have no way of deleting the account when it appears. My other google accounts are fine but the one that keeps requesting verification is a work account which is no longer used. The message comes from apidata.googleusercontent.com Any help to remove this so the message doesn't keep appearing Roger

Quand je vais dans paramètres comptes --> "+ Nouveau compte" --> Nom complet + adresse mail --> "Configurer"

Après le processus n'aboutit pas : un cercle d'attente tourne à l'infini sans jamais passer à la prochaine étape.

I am moving my wife's info from a Windows 10 laptop to a Windows 11 one. I followed all the steps in "Method using a transfer device" ( I used a large external SSD for that) and the document I was following had a second section about the possibility of an update to Thunderbird requiring me to create the new profile manually.

It did not work out, so I set to repeating the process, but have misplaced the printout with that second section.

Now, when I get to launching Thunderbird on the new system, the 'Enter your password' dialog comes up and asks me to "Enter your password for cch@clivedencom on mail.cliveden.com." Clearly, I have SOMEHOW mistyped that in doing the now-lost second section's advice.

Any guidance on how to overcome this?

I have been using Thunderbird on my desktop since the end of Eudora, but moving forward from computer to computer has created some problems.

Looking at Thunderbird here is what I see.

LEN POP which is configured as a POP account with the standard folders: Drafts , Sent, Junk and Trash There is also a folder called Archives with subfolders for the years 2021-2025, There are also a couple of special folders Like News and Events. and a folder called xxx NUL with about 10,000 emails for the years 2022 and 2023.

Then here is GMAIL which is setup as a standard IMAP account. (or some reason copies of some sent messages from the POP account are saved here.


Then there is LOCAL FOLDERS which contains again the standard subfolders, and then more than 20 folders which are populatde by mail filters from the inbox. It seem most of the mail here comes from the inbox in the POP account. (I often see a notice like" 40 messages moved from inbox to inbox."

On my phone and iPad I have my accounts set up as IMAP.

HERE'S THE PROBLEM

From time to time the POP account starts downloading thousands and thousand of old emails. Today it was over 29,000 messages. I disabled downloading of messages and ran the duplicate remover on each folder, and got rid of as many as I could, of of course as soon as I clicked "get messages" the 29,000 mail dumps started again. (This does not happen on my phone or iPad).

It has been suggested that I should switch to IMAP on the desktop, but I would like to filter mail into the same local folders using the old filters, which I have developed over many years.

QUESTION So, Is there a relatively simple way to do this.

But when I enter the password, it says "Could not create account" due to an authentication error. It says that either the name or password is incorrect,and I can't finish creating the account.

I had a computer crash and had to reinstall everything on my computer. However, I am unable to add Juno.com to Thunderbird. I receive an authentication error that indicates either the username or password are incorrect. I tried several times without success. I have no problem accessing Juno.com directly on the web with the same username and password I entered in the Thunderbird Auto Hub setup screen.

Prior to the computer crash Juno.com was in my Thunderbird accounts.

Any recommendations?

Hi! I have been using Thunderbird on 2 laptops for years. Both these laptops allowed me to setup 2 accounts :

user1@mydomain.com user2@mydomain.com

both are hosted by ionos.com. The server setup is imap.ionos.com

When I went to install Thunderbird on my new Windows 11 laptop, it is too cool for school. Tries to be too cute. I got user1@mydomain.com set up and working, but it won't let me setup user2. If I go through several unnatural acts to get past the "helpfulness", it complains

that the inbound server is already setup.

I can't help, but conclude there is a bug or two in the latest account setup.

Any assistance getting around it would be greatly appreciated. If there is a file I can export from the laptops that work and import on the new laptop, that would be nice.

I uninstalled my roadrunner account from Thunderbird as all incoming emails were spam or duplicated on my gmail account. I did not realize that all my folders, some very important were under the roadrunner account and all have disappeared. How can I get them back? If I reinstall roadrunner will they come back with them?
