I didn't see a topic called Security, so I chose Settings.

For Thunderbird version 146, what specific version of LDAP is being used?

Regarding which LDAP version is the most up to date, I found this: https://pkg.go.dev/github.com/go-ldap/ldap/v3@v3.4.12

My concern is about LDAP's security. I believe it is reasonable to think that the latest available version of LDAP would have the latest and most up to date security patches applied.

I would like to feel secure knowing I have the protection of the newest version of LDAP which affords the best security protection available for Thunderbird laptop version 146.

However I have been unsuccessful in determining if Thunderbird 146 is using this LDAP latest version. Could you help me learn if Thunderbird 146 is utilizing the latest version of LDAP that is available? Thanks in advance.

Not getting new messages

Around Jan. 4, I tried moving all of my Inbox contents to a new subfolder "Inbox 2025". This process was taking a long time and I didn't see it complete. Afterwards, I can start Thunderbird OK (version 115.3.1 (64-bit) running on a Windows 10 system). I see the new folder "Inbox 2025" and it seems complete. I also see other folders which look OK. But the incoming messages have frozen at 01/01/26 [for one e-mail account] and at 01/04/26 [for a second e-mail account.]

It is also true that all of my Thunderbird sessions end by crashing after a certain period of time. What can I do to restart Thunderbird so that it will connect with the relevant servers, get new messages and not crash?

Normally I use thunderbird via a spectrum isp. Am currently out of the area and am using a cyber street isp. I can receive emails in thunderbird but can no longer send emails. Server SMTP settings appear to be correct. server: mail.twc.com port: 587 connection security: STARTTLS

I get this message when trying to send an email: >>>> Sending of the message failed.

An error occurred while sending mail: Outgoing server (SMTP) error. The server responded: p-impout001.msg.pkvw.co.charter.net cmsmtp 68.68.205.174 blocked. Please see https://www.spectrum.net/support/internet/understanding-email-error-codes for more information. AUP#Out-1130. <<<<<

Spectrum help tells me that since I can send emails through their web mail interface, that the problem must be with thunderbird. Not sure I believe them, but here I am looking for suggestions. Thoughts anyone?

I am not getting specific emails from ' Marcie Tilton Fabrics' . She sends 2 per day. I haven't gotten them for a couple months. I WANT THEM! I've called her company; I've resubscribed.

They are not in my bulk file.  Where are they?

They do not appear on my Thunderbird (PC- Mozilla), on my I-pad (Apple), on my phone(Samsung)

Hi folks. Been using Thunderbird for years now. Never had an issue till now. It recently began to check the spelling on EVERY email. Even if spelling was perfect. It never displays a misspelled word (I'm a good speller). Window comes up and despite hitting ignore it refuses to send. Only after you select Close will it send.

I've uninstalled it and did a fresh install. No luck. I did keep the old profile.

I was working with thunderbird today. Was in a specific email folder I had named "reference" that I use to store various emails, probably around 50 emails in there. Suddenly they all deleted from the folder as I was watching the screen. Checked spam/trash folders and nothing. Also logged into my webmail provider and nothing there either. Any idea what could have happened here? They just seem to have literally vanished. Have used Thunderbird a number of years and never experienced anything like this.

When I let thunderbird compress the inbox and other folders, the not read flags on all new emails get reset as if I have read all of the new emails. Compressing the inbox and other folders should have no effect on the flags showing a message has not yet been read. That only makes sense. The not read flags getting reset started happening several versions before 145.

I am using TB 140.7.0esr(64bit) on a windows 11 desktop/ Starting 15 Jan at ~ 8pm, my outgoing SMTP email from multiple tds.net email accounts through my default server (tds.net) is failing with the following message: "Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail: Outgoing server (SMTP) error. The server responded: Cannot connect to SMTP server 129.159.94.43 (129.159.94.43:587), connect error 10060." The outgoing SMTP configuration is: "Server name: mail.tds.net Port: 587 User name: john.randle Authentication Method: normal password Connection security: STARTTLS" I have not made any changes to that configuration. I am still able to send SMTP by switching to another email account/server (e.g. gmail.com). I have contacted tds.net and they say, not surprisingly, that it is an email client (thunderbird) issue. I am getting the same error on another desktop running windows 10 with TB 140.6.0 esr (32bit). Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
