Yesterday was fine, but today (11/21/25), I can't send emails with attachments. It's like dial up service without the beeping.

A simple email with a simple image sits and sits and 20% sent, then 27%, then 35% .... then it may go through. Maybe. AND then it tells me that it can't save the sent message.

Slow as a rock.

When I add attachments when replying to emails, the file icons on those attachments don't display. This only happens when replying, the file icons display when receiving emails. Have tried many things to fix this including using ChatGTP with no luck. What can I do to fix this?

Hello! An attachment with the 7z extension is sent to the email. It is very inconvenient to save attachments of this type to the computer every time. To open them using the 7-zip archiver, you need to perform several actions (select open, find the program in the program files, and select the exe file). Can you make it so that the user does not have to perform these actions every time?

Suddenly, the body of some my older emails are blank, and their attachments missing! It is sporadic, and there are not specific date windows for when the email bodies/attachments are blank. Some are from a few months ago, some from years ago.

I am a "regular person" email user and have ZERO IT or coding experience. How can I recover the content of these blank emails? Specific, step-by-step help would be much appreciated. I hope to continue using Thunderbird and not have to abandon it.

I run Thunderbird on a iMac, and I use POP to sign in - I think.

I believe the only option to view attachments is to scroll until the end of the email. This is inconvenient for emails with many replies and forwards as they become very long. In addition, the implicit Gmail indentation, makes the scroll length extremely long (email is eventually displayed one character per line). I have one email that I need to scroll hundreds of screens so I can view the attachments. See attached image with the email contents and scroll bar.

It would help to have a button to scroll to the end or ignore indentation. Both options would be helpful as scrolling to the end allows downloading the attachments and reading the initial email.

Hello, I cannot view (or even see that there is one) any attachments other than PDF (as only PDF is listed in attachment options) Already renamed handlers file to -old in Profiles

      Have been using Thunderbird since it's inception . I have appreciated the "add-ons" which shrink picture file size in the desktop version. Having used Thunderbird for android for a year now I am most frustrated at the inability to utilise this sort of function on android. An email photograph is so helpful in many situations. Am I missing something or do you intend to implement such a function.

I have McAfee Total Security installed & up to date on my PC.

3 times today, the AV reported files being generated by email contain malicious links or attachments?

e.g. in AppData\Local\Temp newmsg-46 newmsg-73

Thunderbird 128.13.0esr was installed. I have just updated to 128.14.0esr, then immediately prompted to install140.4.0esr?

Was this a known issue?

I have setup Thunderbird on a laptop. I tested the setup by sending a test email to computer #2 which is received just fine.

However, if I send a test email that contains an attachment (Word document) to the same email address on computer #2, the email appears to be sent from the laptop, but is not being received.

I check both servers and the email with an attachment has not bounce or gone to a junk folder. I can not find it anywhere.

Any suggestion on how to correct whatever it is that is causing this problem?

when trying to view pdf attachment while composing a thunderbird message a mysterious error message appears: "could not be opened, because the associated helper application does not exist. Change the association in your preferences". I found the solution in a reddit forum namely in configeditor of thunderbird change "pdfjs.disabled" to "true". Fine, but why does thunderbird support not give a solution?. And why is the error message so uninformative? it does not say which helper application it is looking for, and what is meant by "association in your preferences" and how to change that. В thunderbird файлы формата ODT не открываются, а сразу предлагается их сохранить! Нельзя и в настройках выбрать с помощью чего такие файлы открывать (В настройках - Основные - Файлы и вложения)!!! Это не очень удобно.

I’ve been a long-time fan of your email client and have been using the desktop version for many years. Recently, I started actively using the Android version as well. From time to time, I also make donations to support the project, since it’s very important to me that Thunderbird continues to grow.

I’d like to share a suggestion: it would be very convenient if attachments in emails were displayed right after the subject line, instead of at the bottom of the entire conversation. In long email threads, it can be inconvenient to scroll all the way down just to open an attached file.

I’d be very grateful if you could consider this improvement. Thank you in advance for your feedback and for your excellent work on Thunderbird!

I just encountered the following issue with Thunderbird after installting the tool on my new laptop: When I click "save" in an email with an attachment, the "Save attachment" window pops up and I can browse to a local folder. But when I click "Save" and then check the corresponding folder, nothing has been saved.

I've searched the Thunderbird Settings menu up and down for a setting/option that will fix this issue, but I couldn't find one.

I've been using Thunderbird for many years, and I've never come across this issue before. I'm at my wits' end, so I'm hoping for your support!

If I want to attach a photo to a Thunderbird email it will open my Gallery NOT in order of the most recently taken photos, which means I have to know the filename of the photo I want, instead of easily browsing the date order. If I compose the email in Gmail it takes me directly to most recent photos. How can I change this in Thunderbird as it's generally date order that I need?

I have been using Eudora for 20 plus years and migrated to Thunderbird after Mozilla took it over. After my donation, I have observed that the last update that you have done, has a bug.

I would always detach any attachments on my email and categorize them in my set directories for easy retrieval and I have these files since 1991. Off late when I detach a file it deletes it from the email, and saves it to my attach folder, desingated in the options menu, making my inbox file that I backup smaller and managable on a pen drive too. Now when I detach files, it deletes them from the email but the attach directory is always empty.

Please rectify this as it is causing a lot of files being lost.
