I bought a new computer. I want to transfer all (a lot) of my Contacts in Thunderbird email. Tried several times. Can't do it. Watched the video. It crashes every time. Please help. Thanks, Wayne [edited email from public forum] @centurytel.net

How to create a new local address book? I clicked the tiny icon to the left of New Contact button and it opens a modal that appears to offer the option, but clicking any of the links does nothing, no response. Screenshot of modal attached.

Hello. It seems Thunderbird does not include avatars when I export the whole contacts book as a *.vcf file. Please, be so kind as to add this feature, preferably pictures larger than 96x96 px. Or maybe I missed this magic checkbox somewhere? Thanks.

I've recently started using Thunderbird in place of Microsoft Outlook. I have also upgraded from Windows 10 to 11. Unfortunately, my mailing groups that I used in Outlook did not transfer as groups. I was able to import my contacts as a .csv file and I have now set these out in an Excel spreadsheet. My contacts are now in alaphabetic order so whilst I have the contact data such as emails, all of my previous mailing groups are now mixed together!

Is there any way that I can select either individal enties on my spreadsheet or maybe multiple entries and import them into a new address book?

Any ideas or experience would be very helpful.

I was editing a contact synced by TBSync from a gmail account.

I created a new note section and added some information that included ":" and newlines.

After saving, only the first line was saved. I tried to edit again to add the information a few times without success, then the entire contact was wiped of information, but still existed.

The blank contact can still be searched by the original name, so something still existed there.

After a restart, the contact is completely gone.

I created a new contact and tried to reproduce the problem by entering similar information, but had no further problem.

Mostly, I just wanted to log this event in case others have the problem.

I'm using TB 144.0.1 on a Mac desktop. When I open my address book, several come up. "Personal Address Book" is the default, which is fine by me; I can add, subtract as I wish. There are two others, "Collected Addresses" and "Mac OS X Address Book." The latter is obsolete with numerous bad addresses in it, but even though clicking the ellipses brings a speed menu containing "Delete," selecting it and confirming my desire to delete the address book has no effect. Why have a command purportedly available that doesn't work? My Mac mini uses MacOS Tahoe 26.1, and the obsolete "Mac OS X Address Book" serves only to misdirect my outgoing mail. How can I delete it?

Accidentally deleted saved email contacts from Thunderbird on my Android device. Is there a way to get them back that a novice can understand?

I'm moving. Lost all vendors' contact information phone numbers, email addresses. Sick to my stomach....

I generally like thunderbird but when I got my win11 machine and installed it there seem to be some glitchy things.. the one I cant seem to work around it adding new contacts.. the screen does not ever add the contact to the book after I click on the add to link.. It also doesn't allow me to move/scroll around to find other links.. I have tried different screen settings, display resolutions, scaling.. nothing changes the way the add contact displays

My Address page for New email Contact has gone outside the screen & I have no SAVE button so I cannot complete and save an email address I have tried to use the Zoom button as I had on Windows 10 -= but doesn't work for me on Win 11 ????????????? Eric

I have an old version of Thunderbird on my former laptop and would like to first export the distribution list an then import the distribution list on my new laptop. How do I do that?
