... and the only way to restore them is to delete the folderCache.json, session.json, xulstore.json files from my profile directory. But each time I shut down Thunderbird and restart it, the same problem returns and I have to start over.

As this causes Thunderbird to lose all customizations to folder display, column displays, color badges, etc, and requires Thunderbird to download all message headers in my 6 email accounts, it's wasting a ton of my time.

All the accounts are still intact and it even says it's downloading email for each inbox on startup, I just can't see any of it because there's no folders displayed on the left side-bar.

And mind you, this was just a "upgrade"... when I tried to migrate my default profile to another computer (new workstation) it wouldn't load the proper profile without doing the -p flag on the executable and then after, has this same problem where it first displays proper accounts/folders but then on restart loses it all.

Luckily I found another users post online about deleting those internal cache/config files (for a completely unrelated problem with an older version of tbird) or I'd have been completely stuck.

Anyone have any suggestions on migrating BACK to the previous most stable build of pre "Supernova"? This thing isn't fully baked IMO.

And also, is there a better way to submit massive errors like this to the developers?

The problem is that after the download of the 115.01 version it has not been possible to register properly my "name"@arcor.de account with the email provider via imap.vodafonemail.de from Thunderbird . With imap.web.de there has been no problem. Strangely, it is possible to send emails via smtp.vodafonemail.de from Thunderbird although these sent emails are not shown neither in Thunderbird nor in the Vodafone email app. Incoming emails are properly shown in the Vodafone email app but not in Thunderbird.

Just updated to v115.2 and all my messages have disappeared - all folders listed but empty. New emails have downloaded but do not appear in Inbox which is likewise empty. I navigated through Users file to Mail and files seem to be intact. Should I remove update and hope older version will populate the folders? I'm running Windows 10 v22H2 and installed update KB4023057 just prior to v115.2 update.

Since 117(Beta)I have an issue with Firefox refusing to apply the update it downloaded. I've tried searching left and right on the internet for a solution and one does work which is installing the newer version of the browser each time myself. But this is ofcourse not a solution in the long run.

It tries now to apply the update 118b9 to stable version 118 and it did downloaded just fine and asked me if I wanted to close the program to let it update which always worked. I've tried different DNS to see if that could be the problem, tried a clean default profile to see if that helped, I haven't tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, due to me losing my passwords and what not.

I also tried to run the stable version to see if the issue was still there and it is still there, so me using the beta channel isn't the issue here.

This morning I opened Thunderbird to find a very different program. All my junk mail and spam folders are gone. My main account Sent folder, Drafts folder, and Trash folder are gone. All my accounts are IMAP.

In Webmail for my main account are two drafts, 1911 junk, 1193 trash, 5280 sent

I'm trying to restore Firefox Bookmarks and stored login/passwords from a Time Machine backup of my Macbook Pro. I've read in the Mozilla support articles where this info is stored, but my backups have no Firefox folder under "Applications Support." Did it get eliminated when I signed up with Mozilla in order to get help with this? These files are on my current system, but they only have a few items that I've entered today.

Hi, I uninstalled my old firefox from macbook by going to the 'application' folder and dragging it into the bin I then installed a new firefox However now I have two firefox on my macbook - could anyone tell me how to solve this???

I was haning problems with Supernova so I tried to unsinstall and reinstall. I copied my profile to back-up disc and then uninstalled Tbird. When I tried to reinstall using the backed up profile Tbird would not open. I get the following message, "Your Thunderbird profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible." What can I do to correct this issue?

I need to install Firefox on a new laptop under an existing account, but a new account was already created on the new device. All it will let me do is reinstall under the newly created account.

I really don't like this new version! Please help me to

1) Remove the read messages little icons to the right of my folders. Disconcerting and useless. I tried everything!

2) I don't like the new UI at all. Will probably stop using Tbird over it. It's so unfriendly! How do I get the emojis to work? Even that stopped!

Just spent over and hour looking. Next I'll spend the hour using a different app if this can't get resolved!

I've got a sticky problem which occurred when using Migration Assistant to move data from my Mac Pro Mid-2012 desktop (OS 10.13.6) to my recently bought used Mac Pro Destktop 2019 *(Ventura 13.5.2). After 6 hours or so of transference, it seemed to hang at ("About 5 minutes remaining...") so I quit, not noticing any warnings about not doing that or else.

What happened was I seemed to have lost Thunderbird Mail files (Ver. 102.15.1 64-bit) from the Mid-2012 MP and there were none showing in the target Mid-2012.

So I'm wondering if the files are truly lost or hidden/recoverable somewhere? I made a Time Machine back up in the Mid-2012 shortly before I did this, but don't know how to move just the Thunderbird files to the Mid-2012 safely.

Anyone had the same problem or have any clues as to how to resolve this?

I've tried several things and yet outgoing server just times out mail.twc.com is used with windows mail without trouble. I've used thunderbird and only had this happened on my new computer running windows 11

After updating Thunderbird on my main machin (pc1), my inbox was suddenly empty. On another computer (let's call it pc2) that has access to the same account, the inbox shows all messages correctly. The difference seems to be this: When I go to "Inbox" -> "properties" -> "General Information", the field "Location" on pc2 is set to "imap://...imap.gmx.net/INBOX". On pc1 that same field is set to "mailbox://...path to local profiles folder". The inbox file of the local profiles folder contains nothing, so I assume that this is the reason for the empty inbox. My problem is that this "Location" field cannot be edited; I can only select and copy the text. So my question is: how can I change this field?

Following this guide

Added some extensions (core/distribution/extensions), added autoconfig (js in core/defaults/prefs and cfg in core), put a user.js in core/defaults/profile with a userchrome.css in core/defaults/profile/chrome)

Then repackaged (step 4), did step 5 and 6 however when the newly formed installer is run I get a 7-zip error saying "the system cannot find the file specified". The originally installer works so it must be something that I am doing
