I want Thunderbird to stop marking everything I delete as having been read. The way it works now, if I accidentally delete mail that I haven't read yet it's much more difficult to find it when everything is marked read even when it wasn't. I searched everywhere and haven't come up with a solution for this. It was reported as a bug years ago and was never fixed.

Running Thunderbird 140.5.0esr

This has been happening for a few weeks now somewhat randomly. The folders under Mail for one of my accounts keep moving around and are not in alphabetical order anymore. Most folders are OK, but a few either jump to the top of bottom of the list. I can manually drag them back, only for different folders to do it the next time.

The folders in questions are 2 levels down from Mail.

Is there a reason that settings, such as columns, layout, ordering, folder colours, etc. are not retained in the msf itself?

I have to use multiple machines, so tend to have an archive that I share across them as the primary storage of emails. However, nothing is retained between machines which is a bit annoying when trying to colour code for easy visual cues. So it seems clear that this information is currently stored in the local profile, even though the archive data is a filesystem.

Hello!

I am an MDM engineer using Jamf Pro. I am hoping to be able to add mobile device app configurations for firefox preference settings (plist) for specifically iOS. If Android is possible, that'd be great as well. I did notice there are no available plist or Mobile application management configurations both firefox available directly on Jamf Pro or Intune. Does firefox have available settings to apply in xml or uploadable property lists for mobile devices specifically? I found the github repository but it only lists keys for mac and windows, I've tried these keys in case it also works for mobile devices as well but it seems that is not the case.

My TB (latest version) keeps forgetting one of the folders is marked as a favorite. Why does it do that? Where are the settings for the folders stored? Thanks.

As it turns out, my LOCAL FOLDERS is a sub-file in my account. I have a whole bunch of sub-files within the LOCAL FOLDERS sub-file. When I right click on that file, it does not give me the option to reorganize (re-alphabetize) that sub-file. In other words, I want to reorganize the sub-files of a sub-file. Is this just not an option, or is there a way to do this?

Recently, I've found that the OSX keyboard shortcut for focusing the next window in the current application ("Move Focus To Next Window" in System Settings) has changed its behavior. Pressing [cmd + `] will only cycle Firefox's windows until it reaches what seems to be the "end" of the current list of windows open. After this, I have to press [SHIFT+ cmd + `] to go backwards through the list of windows to re-focus any of the other windows.

Before, the behavior was such that I could just repeatedly press [cmd + `] and Firefox would infinitely cycle through all open windows, no shift key needed.

I haven't been able to reproduce this changed behavior in any other applications. Testing this in others (Finder, Safari, etc.) yields the cycling behavior instead of making me reverse the direction with shift to get back to the previous windows.

This is tied to the operating system's command. If I remap the keystroke to something else in system settings, I still need to use the shift key with it in Firefox once I reach the last open window.

Is there a way to get the old cycling behavior back? I find the key command with the shift key to be much less ergonomic.

Hi I have 2 gmail accounts set up in TB. Neither of which are my daily accounts.

I've noticed that both of them put a copy of any email I receive into archives, as well as my inbox. I've checked my account settings & they're identical to those of all my other email accounts.

Not only that, but one of the accounts puts every email I receive into inbox, archive AND archive for that email address, so basically, I'm getting 3 copies of all those emails.

What I want to happen is what happens for all my other emails. They arrive into inbox & I put them in local folders/delete as appropriate

All help gratefully received Thanks
