It's very odd. Normally moving an email, say from the Inbox to the relevant year's archive, takes "no time at all".

Which is true for all the mailboxes shown on the attached screenshot, EXCEPT for the four at the bottom. Moving even one message from Inbox to Yiddish can take ten seconds or longer (with the dreaded "Not Responding" occasionally). Moving something in the opposite direction is also screwy, only from those four.

I had thought that it was because they're rather large. This first started when there were just Yiddish and MSW, and I split off most of the earlier years into the archives shown. To no avail.

It's only an annoyance, but I'm puzzled about how such a thing could happen.

Also very slow tagging or untagging a message just in those mailboxes.

In the process of changing from Windows to Linux, I have entered the details of my email account and it is fine when I press re-test, but when I press done it is not fine anymore. The email is “freeuk.com” which is still active but Freeuk itself isn’t, but the service was taken over by Claranet with a “clara.net” setting, so I imagine that may be relevant. Any help (not too technical please) would be appreciated. Thanks.

1. How to move mail between two different Macbooks with different OSX and different versions of Thunderbirds?

How do I move my email profiles (there are several) from an old Mac to a new one, when the old Mac can't be upgraded anymore and the Thunderbird versions don't match?

Old Macbook OSX Monteray 12.7.4 can not go any higher on OSX due to hardware not being compatible Thunderbird 140.5 Oesr 64 bit - don't know if it can be updated or not, but expect not. Minimizing run time as much as I can because the fan is going nuts and I think the battery is going - gets very hot.

I copied all the different profile folders from the Old Mac to an external drive. However, I don't think I can just plop them in to the new Profiles folder on the New Mac, given the Thunderbird versions and OSX version don't match.

2. How to .pdf old emails (With attachments) Also, the profiles folder is huge (219 GB), with multiple profiles and I want to save old emails (with attachments) into .pdf and appreciate advice on what .pdf converter/file converter would be best. It doesn't have to be free. It does need to respect my privacy.

when i use Chrome or edge to access yahoo email I can write & edit. when using Firefox browser; I cannot write & edit/highlight/change text colours etc before sending. tried deleteing & re-installing Firefox . please help. Driving me crazy rsvp

Dozens of reboots every day due to video seizures only with Firefox. Tab crashes causes those I am ordered to support to LOSE WORK. After a tab crash and restore the FF interface is frozen -- no type of input from peripherals possible. This is all supposed to be solved by Monday. If I am out of luck with FF -- just tell me. That's very simple. New machines, new OS and it's worse than under the legacy systems we support after moving up from Win 7 Pro.

I have encountered a problem recently with on particular forum site.

When I attempt to login I receive an error after pressing the submit button. 

The form displays this error "The submitted form was invalid. Try submitting again."

I have been using the site regulary for several years and have never had this problem

The following is what I am using:

    Firefox ver 153.0.1 64 bit
    Windows 10 and/or Windows 10 (yes this is happening on all 3 of my PCs)

The forum site is using phpBB Forum Software. I do not know the version. As stated above they have been using this software for several years.

In trouble shooting this issue I have discovered that if I do the following in the specified order I can login and create and respond to posts and Private Messages. But as soon as I log out I receive the invalid form message until I do the following steps again.

            1) Clear all cookies, temporary cache, site settings, browsing and download history, site settings
               and saved form info.
            2) Shutdown Firefox 
            3) Navigate to my profile with Windows Explorer 
            4) Delete the file cookies.sqlite

I must do this each and every time I access the site.

I am at a loss as to what to do about this. Does Firefox have any error logs or console logs? If so how can I enable them to see if I can get a better idea of what is happening?

Hello - new forum user with some previous familiarity with Thunderbird. I'm looking for advice on mail import from Outlook (M365) on Mac OS. I will only be using TBird for accessing historical mails in future rather than as the main mail app going forward.

I have installed Thunderbird and looked at the Import Tool but it doesn't list Outlook as an option. I've looked through the Import Tool support pages and I can see Outlook is an import option but it only seems to appear when I filter the web page based on Windows 11 rather than Mac OS.

Am I able to use the Import Tool on Mac OS with Outlook?

I'm using Mac OS Monterey 12.7.6 and have Thunderbird 153.0.1 and Outlook for Mac 16.89 (M365) installed.

If the Import Tool isn't available, is the next best option to drag individual folders from Outlook to the Mac desktop to create MBOX folders and then drag those into Thunderbird?

I changed my password for Greenby/Plusnet today. Now Thunderbird is unable to connect to them. The password is correct as I can enter website directly. No problems before change. Grateful for help.

Should I reinstall?

TB suddenly moves messages from inbox to trash automatically without any interaction. Search through the forrum shows that it has been asked for already, see https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1588804, similar postings can also be found with you search engine.

As described in other postings, the messages are moved from Inbox to trash. When moving them back manually from trash to inbox, they are moved to trash again immediately.

• it happens for the default account only,
• there're no filters at all in TB,
• junk detection is disabled,
• Settings->General Storage is all disabled,
• (account)->Settings->Server Settings has checked "move deleted messages to trash",
• (account)->Settings->Storage is all disabled,
• Inbox->Properties "Repair folder" does not help,
• Inbox->Properties "rules is set to "use account settings" (and greyd out "do not delete messages"),
• exactly same behaviour when starting TB in save mode,
• manually deleting all *.msf files (for inbox) does not help,
• manually deleting xulstore.json does not help,

Additional notes, which are not related to the problem, IMHO:

• IMAP on port 993,
• no other clients anywhere are connected to that account,
• TB configured for more than 10 accounts, more than 500 folders and sub-folders,
• host with > 16GB RAM, TB uses 3GB virt,
• problem observerd in older TB also, at least 13x.x

I'd be happy to debug/trace the problem if someone can give me detailled insructions how to start TB with debugging. Please feel free to ask for about:config settings as they are non-ambiguous and language independent ;-)

Noticed that Firefox on IOS was updated about 17 hours ago, so that may explain the current issue. When I open the app on my phone, it will be on the page I was last on, but would be frozen. Cannot add a new tab. Cannot add an address to in address bar. Nothing can be done u til I force quit the app, and then reopen the app afterwards (as long as I give it a couple seconds afterwards). Didn’t have this issue the day before.

I can't get Thunderbird to stop updating. My installation is currently set as follows:

Settings > Updates > "Check for updates, but let me choose whether to install them."

That was done around the 21st July, and the version=152.0.1. I was never prompted to update. When I checked today (27th July) version=153.0 and Settings remains the same (as above).

The setting is being ignored. Is there a workaround? Like setting up my installation to deny access to something. (Maybe, like if the update process needs a certain directory to be present, remove the directory.)

Hello, I am trying to access the camera on a website (Unstop Quizverse) using Firefox on my Android device, but the camera is not turning on / detected properly. I have checked the site permissions, but the camera prompt is still not working. Could you please guide me on how to enable/fix camera access permissions for websites in Firefox Mobile? Thank you!

My Firefox sync stopped working after the latest update. Bookmarks are not syncing between my desktop and laptop. I have tried signing out and back in but it still does not work. Any suggestions?

I have thunderbird installed on my PC, and my main email account is a gmail account. I download from gmail using POP protocol (SSL/TLS connection security, OAuth2 authentication). I have been using these settings for a long time (15 years?).

This afternoon, thunderbird stopped downloading my messages. No error messages : just "no new messages to download".

I can see (by logging directly into my gmail account using my browser) that there are new messages on the server. They're not spam or junk, and they're not getting downloaded into my (local) spam folder. They're not getting downloaded at all.

I still have room on the google server (it's about 87% full), and room on the hard drive on my computer (about 3 GB).

Thunderbird has stopped downloading mail from the outlook account for my prime account, but my secondary account also outlook is OK. It kept asking to sign into my account then directed me to a web page to sign in for outlook, but it would only let sign into the 2nd account. I have tried uninstalling Thunderbird and re-installed it but still have the same problem.

I'm seeking support to try to resolve an issue that has recently started happening. I can't be the only one who is experiencing this, so if this is resolved others can benefit too. I'm not a complete novice, but neither do I claim to be an I.T. expert.

I use my ISP's webmail service to access my emails. I'm aware I could use an email client, but I prefer to access via a web browser and have done so for many years. About a week ago, I was no longer able to sign in to my webmail. I thought it may be a problem with my provider, so I checked using other web browsers - Safari on iOS which worked and Microsoft Edge (using the same internet connection, same desktop PC) which also worked and continues to work without issue. I can only think it must be something wrong with Firefox? I can access the sign in page as normal using Firefox and select my email address, but after attempting to login I always get the same error message:

Sorry, we can't sign you in just now

Don't worry, it's just a quick pause to help keep your account safe.

Instead:

   Use a device you've signed in on before
   Try again from a familiar connection
   If you're on a VPN, switch it off and have another go

I have 2 extensions installed in Firefox - Adblock Plus and Ghostery. I have already added the specific URLs to the allowed websites list (first is the sign in page, second is what it redirects to):

mail2.virginmedia.com oauth.virginmediao2.co.uk

I have searched around for possible solutions, to no avail. Virgin Media advise only signing in on their main home page, but I've never done this as its just another step and extra unnecessary clicks. I don’t want to constantly be bombarded with news, offers and promotions every time I want to check my email, so I only use the direct webmail sign in.

I have tried clearing cache, cookies, etc. Then I tried to refresh Firefox, none of which worked. I also tried uninstalling Firefox, then using CCleaner to perform a clean up and registry scan to fix any possible issues, followed by a clean installation. To my surprise, I was able to sign in to webmail OK. However, the next morning, I got the same error. The only other settings I have tried tweaking is adding exceptions to turn off "Enhanced Tracking Protection" and "Block pop-ups and third-part redirects" on those 2 web addresses.

Any suggestions or options to try would be appreciated.

Please see attached images that show my settings for DNS over HTTPS set to cloudflare (default) i have to add exceptions to this for multiple sites that do not open. these websites either show me SSL errors or they completely stop opening entirely. what could be the issue here? the websites open completely fine once i turn off this feature or use another browser.
