I have to say that this has been the most frustrating issue that I have been unable to find any kind of help with.

I am running W7 on this laptop (I do not know more than that), even W10 on my desktop, both with the most updated version of mozilla.

I have removed the adobe flash player, and now I cannot get any videos to play, like on CNN and other various sites. I just get the spinning wheel of nothing. It seems that only you tube is working, barely.

Am I missing something, is this open html5 crap supposed to just take over and everything will be okay.

Maybe someone, somewhere can post a layman's explanation on what is going on. If there are issues, how to fix them. I don't need anymore information telling me how to remove because it is dead. What I need is what is replacing it, how does it work, and where and what can I do to fix issues.

Searching for help here on this subject is just tedious. I get over 3000 replies, or what ever they are called here, but just nothing on an explanation of what is changed and or how it works, more like doesn't work.

What do I need to do in order to be able to watch/play videos online.

Any help would be very, very much appreciated.

I've noticed for about 2 weeks now, my google street view is not working like it used to. It some times will not respond and when it does respond it is very slow. I didn't used to have this problem, so maybe a new Firefox update or some other issue is causing then problem? How can I view my browser settings to see if some thing there is causing the problem? I am running Thunderbird 78.6.0 and am finding that old messages are opening in tabs along the top of the screen, just above where it says Get Messages, Write, Chat, address book etc They are not there when I open the program, but appear over the course of the day. I do not use tabs at all, I read all my messages in the message pane, yet messages that I haven't read for months will appear as tabs. Sometimes it will be one message opened several times, along with other messages . I do not actually SEE any tabs opening, I just suddenly realise that there are many there. I just closed down 12 tabs, the oldest message was from over 12 months ago. My mail is IMAP, I do not have any add-ons. This is SO frustrating. Do you have any answer please? Win

Hi, The vams.cdc.gov portal is just showing a blank page, the cdc site says that firefox is a browser to use and also says chrome,safari etc. I need to get on the site because I have to register my mother for over 75 to get the vaccine. I have a phone modem and windows 7. Trying to download either of the other browsers is a long long long download. Anybody know the fix to getting this portal working. I noticed that it uses the Aura framework ie window.Aura By the way the page source is there, and the title bar does show VAMS Portal, just the blank page though. Thanks for helping if you can. About 75% of the times I try to send an email I get the following: "Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.XXX.XXX was lost in the middle of the transaction. Try again." Failure is more common with attachments, and gets worse with increasing attachment size. For one message with a 600K attachment, I had to try 44 times before the message went. The problem occurs on a desktop and two laptops that use Thunderbird. Opening Thunderbird in Safe Mode did not help. My ISP cannot find a problem and believes the problem is caused by Thunderbird. I think the problem started in October 2020.

I want to keep bookmarks and have it auto recall previous sites I have visited. Can I keep the bookmarks and auto recall, but delete some of the files? Hello! I have been a Thunderbird user for many years now and I absolutely love it. The problem that occurred a few weeks ago is actually the first I have ever encountered, so I'm really hoping someone can help me solve it. I have always had several email accounts set up in Thunderbird. My current ISP is Spectrum (formerly Charter in my area). My primary email accounts are all xxxx@charter.net accounts. I also have a few older email accounts set up from when I had AT&T as my ISP and these accounts are all xxxx@sbcglobal.net accounts. The first thing that happened a few weeks ago was that I stopped receiving emails at any of the xxxx@sbcglobal.net accounts. When I open Thunderbird now, my Charter emails all come in fine but an error message comes up relating to the xxxx@sbcglobal.net accounts (see images). I am able to log in to the web-based email site to get all of these emails with my email addresses and passwords associated with each account, but they simply no longer come in to Thunderbird. That is problem #1. Problem #2 occurs when I try to set up a new Charter email account in Thunderbird. I use the automatic configuration option and the first screen says that the necessary settings have been found, but when I click "Done" I get the error message shown (again, see images). When I attempt to manually configure the account, I compare the settings to my other Charter email accounts that are all sending and receiving emails just fine and cannot for the life of me see any differences. So...I'm stuck. Any help that the membership might be able to offer is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi,

My Firefox sync data for a specific addon is messed up. I believe the temporary containers addon made Multi Account Containers addon to sync an insane amount of containers, maxing up the sync storage. Now whenever I click to sync MAC, it downloads thousands of 'tmp' containers. It refuses to sync ever again, hence no matter how many times I fix it locally, if it ever syncs again, it downloads the thousands 'tmp' containers again. How can I delete the sync data for good?

Nothing happens when I try to COPY or MOVE emails from an Account to a Local Folder.

EDIT: Bigger issue is that I need to delete this account but I don't want to lose the hundreds of emails.

I need to delete all my Protonmail accounts before i can fix issues with the Protonmail Bridge app which handles the encryption. I need to do a clean install of the bridge to see if I can make it start working again.

Forwarding them all to somewhere would be a poor solution because the headers would be prepended with "FWD" information, it would preclude Replying in an orderly manner, and Searching.

EDIT: maybe a workaround would be to attempt to use a Filter to copy EVERYTHING and run it once. Not sure how to set up the Filter to do that, does it accept * wildcards?

I run TB on Win7 ok till a couple of days ago, when it suddenly stopped being able to find the Outlook account. so it will not update the TB account. I can set up a new Outlook link and it works, but cannot update the old account passwod setting, which has gone AOL. Is ther any way of duplicating the original setup wizard to update the old account so it will refind Outlook? Is there any way of amalgamating TB accounts so that I could set up a new link and then add the old emails? Is there any way of forcing TB to ask for the Outlook password again. The problem seems to arise from the latest update to TB

Hello, for the past week i've been tackling this problem and it's driving me nuts. I've basically replaced FF with Chrome at this point, because I can't use it for work.

Firefox refuses to print, no matter which printer I select, and even if I try to print to .pdf using Microsoft Print to PDF (or other, 3rd party ones, I tried). Other programs and browsers print just fine, it's only FF that refuses, and it refuses to do so with any printer, physical or virtual.

The error I get is a window titled "Print Preview Error" and the error message is "An error occured while printing" (see attached image). For what it's worth, when I go to the menu and select Print, I get the print preview just fine, it's only after I move on to the printer selection and click on Print that I get this error.

I've followed all the steps from: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-printing-problems-firefox as well as: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problems_printing_web_pages#Reset_printer

And I've also tried using Safe Mode while doing that, as suggested here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/854093

I hope you can help! I've been a Mozillian for more than 20 years, contributor, and volunteer, but this is making my work impossible and I'm forced to abandon FF due to this problem.

In the age of COVID and a switch to more remote work the dependency on online meetings has increased. The company I work for uses Google Apps for Business and has been using Google Meet for a long time, and I've never had any problems with it not working. Recently though, when I join a meeting using Firefox, nobody can hear me and it appears Firefox is not able to access my microphone. Here's what I've done to test:

1. Reviewed Windows 10 settings to make sure microphone input slider is up. 2. Checked other browsers, running Google Meet using Chrome works fine. (Note: everything was working before and I attempted to use Chrome to try out changing backgrounds. It seems like this is when my problems with Firefox began) 3. I've tested my microphone using https://www.onlinemictest.com/ initially it didn't appear to work, but if I tap on my laptop screen near the microphone I see lines showing activity, but it won't pick up voice. Using this same tool in Chrome works as expected. 4. I tested using Private Mode - Same results. 5. I tried clearing the startup cache - same results. 6. I tried using Safe Mode - same results. 7. Refreshed Firefox (using Troubleshooting Information screen (Refresh Firefox...)

I'm at the end of my rope trying to figure out what's going on, and why it only appears to be Firefox that's having a problem. Other apps like Zoom, and recording video using just the webcam on the computer also works fine.

Any help in getting this figured out would be appreciated. I try not to use Chrome if I don't have to, but switching to Chrome so I can join web meetings is a real pain.

For reasons unknown to me, Google currently defaults to Czech when I'm using Firefox even though Firefox itself, my VPN, and my computer all are set to default to English. My VPN is also set for the US. The fact that my default browser is not Google should be irrelevant as even that search engine is set to English. Whenever I try to log into Chrome, the default is still and always English. I cannot find any settings anywhere in either Firefox or my computer that would cause Google to default to any language other than English. Please help.

Long time Firefox user here - been on from the start (about 2005), and don't want to switch because I love some features like the Panorama View extension, Context Search extension etc, and it's always been a great browser.

Recently though (not sure if it's just recently, or I've only just noticed), it's so slow. I tried a brand new profile, no extensions, no settings changes, and it's the same. Example loading times:

I have used Roboform password manager with FF for years. Within the last 6 months, Roboform's toolbar no longer automatically displays below FF when I open FF. I have to force it to by going into RF options and dragging the RF icon onto FF (see attached screen shot). As shown in the image, RF and/or FF doesn't even think RF is installed! But it is. I've contacted RF multiple times, and they claim they're working on it. I wonder if anyone in the FF community has the same problem. Thanks for any help. Steve

Hi, Thunderbird notified me of an update this morning, worked fine before that, I installed the latest update (78.6.1) and since then, the program starts with a blank window and isn't responding anymore. Running Windows10 home 1909. Since I've had this problem before after another update, I already tried the following: - new profile, I completely removed all traces of Thunderbird files under my AppData folder (local, localLow and roaming), it does exactly the same with a completely fresh profile so the issue is not profile related. Everything after that has been done with a fresh profile every time. - uninstalled Mozilla Maintenance Service, because last time I had this problem, uninstalling this service fixed the issue, not this time. - tried safe mode, even with a fresh install it would load at least the menu this time before not responding. - restart windows, several times. - tried 32 and 64bit versions, tried 78.5.1, same thing, 68.9.0 started right away, but I can't use my old(new) profile with this one, splendid.

I've already wasted several days with this issue last time and this is getting reaaally frustrating, I don't know what changed the past couple updates, but this is getting worse every time. Thanks for any kind of help.
