After migration to new PC I created the default folder for Downloads as the Desktop. As during a rebuild the Dowload Folder is deleted. I deleted the Folder " Downloads". I now want to change the default back to a new folder called Downloads. I cannot in Settings get it to take this folder, cannot delete the existing folder (C:\Users\James Euler\Desktop\Downloads). How should I proceed to return to Downloads, or where should I place the new folder "Downloads" so that it becomes the default location for each download? Where should this Download Folder be located?Thanks in advance, as I had no problem making the new default. James

Firefox automatically creates an empty "Downloads" folder in my home directory that I don't need. My browser settings specify a different file save path. How can I stop this? I'm using Firefox 151.0.4 and Rosa Linux 13.2 (Fedora clone).

Hello - downloads have started on my Mac desktop - do not know what they are - and they seem to be ever 4 hours. I have attached a screenshot of my download file. Any advice would be appreciated.

Since around April 2026 , the "Show in folder" option (in "Display the progression of ongoing downloads") does not work anymore when a file is downloaded on a NAS drive . I use a Qnap TS-231P NAS .
