I have two outlook email accounts. With both I get the error: "unable to log in at server probably wrong configuration username or password "

Username and password are correct because a mini browser window pops up, asking me to allow Thunderbird as an authorised program to access my emails.

Also the details are found correctly from probing the server anyway.

Does Earthlink webmail still support anonymous email addresses? If so, is there an article / thread that covers how to use them in EARTHLINK and THUNDERBIRD? They are still called protection packages =mypacks_net

I have Windows 11 - 23H2 up to date ! since 21/1/2025 each time I start Firefox (up to date 134.02 - 64 bits) I get a warning from Malwarebytes Browser Guard that blocks a outgoing request coming from Firefox via port 443 to the IP 82.221.136.1 ( = welcometothemachine.co …. what is that ?? analytics ? AI  ??) .... I am asking myself why is Firefox trying to go to that IP because I never did ask for something like that and how to delete the whole request every time now .... (CCleaner does nothing when used) ... bizarre bizarre behaviour yes ! Who can answer me. Can you please also answer me on geomar@scarlet.be because I would not like to miss the answer ? Thanks.

I have tried the suggested: In window search type :%Appdata% - see image below as guide Select %Appdata% file folder Select 'Roaming' Select 'Thunderbird' Select 'Profiles' Select the 'profile name' folder look for and delete this file : parent.lock

But when I do access appdata all I find is a Microsoft folder. Properties of the appdata folder are to show hidden files and the number gigabytes in the folder properties are greater that the just the Microsoft folder has suggesting that there are hidden folders. Any suggestions?

Hello, I have read various post saying the profiles folder is %APPDATA%\Thunderbird\Profiles\ but on my side I have many folder, and it can explain why when I use a backup tool, I loose all my e-mail. I have - C:\Users\Me\AppData\Local\Thunderbird\Profiles - C:\Users\Me\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles - C:\Users\Me\Administrateur\Application Data\Thunderbird\Profiles

And how to have only one ? I have tried to edit setting to use only C:\Users\Me\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles but the application refuse it.

Tbird ver 91.13.1 Desktop Win 11 Pro ver 23H2, upgraded from Win 10.

Scrollbar disappeared for no apparent reason about five days ago when composing emails.

I'm also working an older draft and it's still functional, as it is on replies to received messages that have scrollbars.

I have gone to Troubleshooting Mode and restarted, disabled add-ons and restarted, no effect.

I also verified that scrollbars were enabled, to no effect. On second thought, I went into the registry and found that the Dynamic Scrollbars actually DID have an incorrect value of (0). Changing it to (1), closing out, and restarting also had no effect. Are there other scrollbar values that should be adjusted?? I hate that nearly-invisible Windows scrollbar that has to be pulled out when needed. Could that possibly be related, or is there a patch for that?

How do I save all my emails, drafts, and sent messages if it's necessary to delete and reinstall the same version? I have one active yahoo account and one hotmail that's no longer active, but I want to save the contents.

I don't want to upgrade to 102, which comments seem to imply may have undesired changes. It seems that every upgrade requires research to disable unwanted features or glitches.

I need that scrollbar to navigate messages as I revise them, not having it is just Not Acceptable.

I’ve encountered an issue while using ChatGPT on Firefox. A small blue dot appears near the query input area, and it interrupts the typing process. When the dot is active, I cannot type properly because the first keypress is consumed to deactivate the dot instead of being entered into the input field.

For example, if I try to type "Hello," the "h" key is used to deactivate the dot, and only "ello" appears in the input box. This issue forces me to either click on the blue dot or press a key before I can start typing.

The problem is specific to Firefox and does not occur on other browsers like Chrome or Edge. I’ve already tried clearing the cache, disabling extensions, and updating Firefox, but the issue persists.

This behavior is quite frustrating and disrupts the user experience. Could you please look into it?

Copied Thunderbird Profile from Windows 10 PC, pasted to Windows 11 PC - No email history or address book

I followed the steps to copy the profile from the old PC and paste it into the folder on the old PC.

Thunderbird is using that profile, but there are no email history or address book.

how do i remove all this new tab seach and search in this time garbage and stupid share crap, its annoying as hell i dont use that garbage and all it does is fill up my used to be clean and neat top of my screen i only need my drop down menu , all this new crap i dont want or use and never will i need all of it gone,not hidden !!! it needs to go period !!!! absolutely no use only pisses me off and I don't want it in my drop down menu either everything I need is in my drop down menu don't need or want anything else , I understand other people want things like that why can't you make them add-ons so if they want it they can add it to there computer and if someone does not want it they don't have to add it nor do they have those it or they don't have to waste time only to find out they are stuck with that new garbage that makes shit harder for them and completely passes them off where they only want to knock the person teeth out put put it on there computer ! why would you want to create more hate in this world by put shit on a computer that someone does not want and believe me the hate you create is very real ! and people can only carry so much hate before people snap and you see those who snap on the news and people can't understand why they snap its because people fuck with there reality ! someday that person might just snap because of something they can't remove from there computer that passes them off ! you people need to think about that shit none of you even think about stuff like that ! because you could be the person that causes it and all you had to do to make it not happen is make any new idea you want to add make it the person who owns the computer their choice if they want it on there computer or not , by giving the owner the choice you could save somebody's life many times over just by making it a choice !!! hopefully you people think about it because one day you could be the one who gets blamed for beening the reason the person snapped and you go to jail !
