I keep my mail (both sent and received) in local mail folders. My server is gmail, and sent mail is put in gmail's sent folder by default. Every few months, I copy those messages to a local folder, and after I back them up, I delete the server copy.

What to my dismay, I discovered today that only the message headers, and not the messages were present in the local folder, though they had been when downloaded. Looking at the file sizes, I found the sent file to be 0 Kb, and sent.msf 255 Kb, when sent should have been around 60 Kb long.

I have been able to restore the messages from backup (whew!), but I have no idea how then sent file was wiped out. I know I did not do it.

Has anyone else had this happen? Is there a preventive measure I should take?

I am trying to re-install THUNDERBIRD I have done this several times before but Google is causing problems When I reenter my Name email address and password Thunderbird finds the email but then it takes me to google and I have to click allow but then it takes me back to the email install and then tells me it cannot find the Email address with the settings

I have 2 email addresses and it does the same with both so Thunderbird does not now work on a Computer that I have used Thunderbird for Years

bold texti had a folder for emails for personal saved emails and i went to thunderbird email and it was gone i have checked my profile and that folder does not exist. i checked my yahoo mail file and that folder does not exist

I accidentally archived multiple messages today that I had deliberately kept in my inbox for attending to later. My archive folder is set to "All Mail" unfortunately. Can I sort the messages in All Mail by date archived? It will be a massive task for me to find them otherwise as the messages I want to retrieve are up to 2 years old

I have Thunderbird mail access on my work place, with 1000 mail and 300 send mail its very important recorded for my usage but disk space is full however i have to could not send any mail it show mail full

I have app version 18.0. About 20 minutes ago I composed an email to a new contact (responding to a letter he sent me). The email was ready to be sent but before I did so I passed the phone across to my wife to read it. She passed the phone back and the message had disappeared from the screen. I have two email accounts that are Unified. The missing email was written with the main account so I checked in all those folders, including Sent, Junk, Spam, etc. I tried searching for the recipient's email address and tried Search everywhere. I also checked on TB for desktop on my laptop. I thought that composed messages were automatically saved. I have seen this during composition when opening a different app to check something and a message appears at the bottom of the screen "Message saved as draft" or similar. I'm trying think what is different this time. Can you offer any suggestion?
