There used to be an option before, but now it just always pops up. It is never useful for me and constantly switching to offline mode or using some other account first is a pain. There is no button to continue manually.

I just purchased a new PC. HP OmniDesk Slim model with Intel Core 13, Win 11 home version, 8 GB DDR5, 512 GB SSD. I just read a previous article, "Move Thunderbird data to a new computer." When you make the move, does it also bring your account settings with the move? And by the move, I mean copying and pasting from old PC to new PC. Or do I enter this info manually? I am moving data from old HP w/win 10 originally installed, to new HP w/win 11. I also read a previous article on forum, "An alternative method for manual transfer between Windows 10 and Windows 11 computers." This was also included in this article. "This section assumes you have a default Windows installation and will work on computers upgraded to Windows 10 from previous Windows versions." My old computer had win 10 originally installed, not upgraded, (as stated above). Any info/help you can offer will be deeply appreciated. Thanks

I am back again with the same issue that I presented on the forum post three months ago. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1594903?utm_campaign=questions-reply The difference is now it is happening on Firefox v157.0.1;everything else is identical. Qubes os R4.3.2 with Firefox 157.0.1 in a Fedora 44 xfce VM. To recap I open one window for Proxmox Datacenter Manager and as soon as I click to sign in Firefox completely disappears. I can open this in Chromium browser and Firefox ESR v.140.17.0 esr perfectly fine. Please consult the original post for all I did to troubleshoot this. I am working with the esr version now but would like to help put this issue to bed. Community members stepped up last time to help me so I am here to do my small part for others. I'm getting a popup error message saying "Unable to write the email to the mailbox" on one of my gmail accounts. This has happened a few times before and I'm not sure how I managed to get it working again those times, seems hit-or-miss. I've compacted and run a repair on the inbox folder several times as suggested by others. I've updated and restarted Thunderbird and even updated windows and restarted more than once.

I accidentally clicked on something at the top of the Inbox messages and suddenly everything was alphabetized. I've tried several times to figure out what happened and to get it back without bothering you, but have had no success. Now, of course, because I've tried so many things, the Inbox is really goofed up. Can you help me reset the Inbox so I don't have to go to All Mail to see my messages? I like having current messages at the top.

Since today's update to esr 153.5 a lot of things have changed for the worse. One annoying thing is that Firefox always opens now in Minimised view...why? I've never used Firefox Minimised...so now every time I have to click Maximise. Another one was that the Hamburger menu items suddenly had huge spaces between everything...at least I was able to find someone on Google who had a css to fix that. But the same thing is happening in the right click menu also, I had a css for that for years but now that doesn't work. The other super annoying thing is the scrolling has totally changed, I always used to uncheck 'smooth scrolling' and check 'autoscrolling', although I never use what they say autoscrolling is supposed to be about...something about holding the middle button on the mouse?? All I know was that setup used to make the scrolling in Firefox excellent...now it's basically annoying smooth scrolling whatever I check or uncheck. The other thing is after this happened I uninstalled Firefox altogether, and reinstalled the 150.0esr version and all this stuff is the same...even though I was previously on 153.4esr...and it wasn't happening on that? So I suppose I might as well just update to the latest one then? And just put up with all this annoying stuff. By the way, I'm still using Windows 10...not one issue a year after all the doomsaying from Microsoft [Defender still gets security updates anyway?]...which makes me wonder about the so-called 'security' issues with using an older version of Firefox. Thanks, any ideas for ways to fix these things would be very much appreciated. Especially the scrolling thing.

About 4-6 weeks ago Chase started throwing an error message when I tried to log in. Some other banks, credit agencies, brokerage houses also same thing. The work with Chrome and Edge.

Can Mozilla get past this or do I give up and use a predatory browser?

As much as I hate ads on YouTube I don't want Firefox to block the ads because if they find out you are blocking ads they will block you from Google and YouTube. I have Google pages and other things on their sites that have been there for years. Plus, I feel like I'm stealing a service by not lets the ads run that pays their bills and the content creators on YouTube. Please tell me where in Firefox I can turn the ads back on.

I have used Mozilla products since Netscape Navigator came out in 1995 I think it was. I went to a local internet provider and brought home a 3.5in Diskette and it loaded Netscape Navigator with my info all filled in for email, Usenet, Webpage publishing and a few Bookmarks to get started. I still use SeaMonkey for my email because it still has email addresses from the 1990's. I have Thunderbird for email on my phone. Anyway, thank you for all your work over the years. I started to try free 50GB a month Firefox VPN to use the website in Japan (free TV programs only available in Japan but are allowed to watch through VPN). It was working for about a month but now it seems to be blocked. I tried suggested troubleshooting like clearing cash, quitting and opening Firefox, closing VPN, changing location setting and back to Japan etc. Is it because free? It was working when I was subscribing NordVPN. So, it's not the website issue. I would like to know why it is not working now. Thank you

I received a message with a password-protected attachment, and opened it in Thunderbird (in Windows 11).

I found that the password I'd been sent did not work with the attachment. I inadvertently closed the Thunderbird app with the password prompt still open.

When I tried to open Thunderbird again it tried to load the attachment and then just hangs indefinitely. Using safe mode has the same result.

Please can you suggest a solution?

First know that I have threading turned on. I am unable to find how to thread several email messages that I know are related. How can I do that even though they may not automatically be threaded by certain wording? Thanks Russ Pond

For months, control-shift-k almost never works. Every once in a while it does briefly. No sense of what is different when it briefly works. Updates to TB don't seem to make any difference.

I am installing Thunderbird for the first time on a new win 11 box. During the install, a "special" email account was created (not by me). I would rather not have the account, but when I right click on the account, the "delete" option is not there, and the account description (immediately below Account Settings) is "The following is a special account. There are no identities associated with it.". Is it possible to delete this account or at least hide it on the accounts list?

I did an uninstall/reinstall hoping to start over, but that did not do a complete reset, and the new install came up with the same accounts (including the "special") as I had set up before.

So, can I remove the account from the existing install, or can you tell me how to do a "clean" reinstall that forgets all previous account information?

Difficulty viewing my Firefox bookmarks page.

Summary: I want to launch a new tab, • open my bookmarks, • select one of my bookmarks and go there. Details: My device is a Samsung Android phone running the latest Firefox browser. I start by click the plus (+) on Firefox top menu bar. Firefox opens a new blank tab. The problem is the 3 dot vertical menu is gone. It's replaced by a camera icon. I use the 3 dot vertical menu button to drill down and access my bookmarks page. Is there a different way to open my bookmarks page that I should know about?
