I would like to use HTTPS to access my router's web interface without having to bypass the "Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead" page.

Following my router's instructions I exported the certificate. I then accessed the Privacy & Security settings in Preferences, and under View Certificates I imported the router's certificate.

When opening the HTTPS web interface Firefox reports SEC_ERROR_INADEQUATE_KEY_USAGE.

I cannot use OpenPGP encryption on one of my email addresses, because its private key does not appear in the End-to-End encryption of the account setting. Exactly, I can have added the private key through the wizard of the account setting, but there is no private key in the End-to-End encryption of the account setting instead of the private key appearing in the OpenPGP key manager.

The other email accounts are OK, i.e. I can use OpenPGP encryption on the accounts. The differences from the troubled email account are followings: - The troubled email account uses Ed255 not ECDSA algorithm. - Name of the troubled email account includes UTF-8 Japanese characters. - The troubled email account also registers S/MIME private.

Please give me advice on this problem. Thanks.

hello there i have the following problem the company i work for has unistalled remotely firefox from my laptop, and i do not have any way to re-install it back i have managed in some way to obtain a copy of portable firefox on the same laptop since i was not informed about this process, i have not saved my password externally and unfortunately, i was not using a firefox profile

in few words: i do not have my passwords anymore

i have seen that in such folder: C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox

there are still saved three subfolders (one of them has the last modified date as 13th Sep, meaning today), therefore i think that my profile (and all relevant passwords) are still there somewhere

i would like to understand if and how i can import the passwords from the unistalled firefox in the portable firefox: i have already tried to copy those directories in: C:\Users\XXX\Desktop\FirefoxPortable\Data\profile

but no success, passwords are not importyed. please, i need help

thanks.

Hi,

I, like a gjillion other people, received a notice from Google/gmail saying I'm likely to lose access through Thunderbird unless ... blah blah.

I was running TB v59. If stuff works I don't make changes. It makes life simpler. I did a heap of online reading and research about this and found lots of advice. I did the following;

  • allowed cookies
  • removed passwords
  • changed authentication to OAuth2 in both IMAP and SMTP

I got the pop-up gmail/Google window asking me to login. My password is accepted. I am asked to allow access to gmail through Thunderbird. I allow. TB hangs sending security information and then crashes.

I assumed that it must be because I was on an older version of TB. I updated to the latest v91 and checked that the OAuth2 settings are as they should be. All good.

I got the pop-up gmail/Google window asking me to login. My password is accepted. I am asked to allow access to gmail through Thunderbird. I allow. TB waits of a bit and pops up a failure notification. This happens every time. If I click on "Get Messages" or I click on any of my folders, I get the gmail login popup, and I am asked to allow TB, AGAIN, and then failure. I cannot get past this.

I have done enough searching again, but I cannot find anything that helps. Can anyone here help with some guidance please.

I have uploaded shots of the various windows.

Thanks.

Hi,

My old Gmail account works in Thunderbird 68.12.1 (32-bit) with no problems, that is, it sends and receives mail. Now I decided to add another Gmail account to Thunderbird. It receives mail without problems, but it can't send mail. If that matters, I have total 4 accounts in Thunderbird (the other 2 aren't Gmail accounts and they're working).

Both accounts have identical settings:

1) both are Gmail mails, that is, mail address is like name1.name2@gmail.com and those mails aren't new (I've had them for several years, but in Thunderderbird was using just one of them).

2) the option for "Less secure app access allowed" is turned ON in Gmail account security

3) POP mail server settings: Server Name: pop.gmail.com Port: 995 Connection security: SSL/TLS Authentication method: Normal password

4) SMTP server settings in Thunderbird: Server Name: smtp.gmail.com Port: 465 Connection security: SSL/TLS Authentication method: OAuth2

So why my new account can't send mails with Authentication method: OAuth2 (it can only send mails using Authentication method: Normal password).

Isn't that the opposite of what should be happening? I thought that Gmail was supposed require OAuth2 method. Anyway, what I'm missing to make those accounts identical for Gmail?

Hello.

Firefox prevents me from opening the following URL, citing Google Safe Browsing advisory:

https://github.com/sandboxie-plus/Sandboxie/releases

Google, however, denies having issued any recommendation to block.

I have noticed that the problem has something to do with my own profile. The problem doesn't appear under the following circumstances:

  • I start Firefox in troubleshooting mode
  • I start Firefox with a new profile

I tried manually disabling all my add-ons, but even with all of them disabled, I can still reproduce the problem.

Any idea what could be wrong with my setup?

It just hurts me how a privacy browser has the Google search engine as default after all, most people come to Firefox for privacy and Google is the opposite. Maybe one of the developers can change that?

I installed Thunderbird in Tiny Core Linux v.10 Everything worked fine, I added two e-mail accounts which both worked well and added the passwords in the master password configuration. Next time I opened Thunderbird to check my mail, the application asked for the master password. This failed. I tried to open and check the passwords, but fail to open the master password folder. I am very sure the password is correct. PLEASE NOTE: Tiny Core Linux loads in RAM, as do the applications being opened. It may be possible, when closing the system, the original password was not back-up'ed automatically. How can I delete the master password entry, so I can enter the respective P/W's for the respective accounts, and without having to re-install the application?

Firefox Browser uprated to 92.0 today. Previously whilst browsing Ad's were showing; today I have no Ad's displayed but have not enabled an Ad Blocker on Firefox. A site I use extensively cannot now be properly viewed; I get a message to turn off Ad Blocker. I have set Enhanced Tracking Protection to 'Off' but am still unable to obtain full functionality, I am using standard Firefox Privacy settings otherwise. I am able to browse the site properly using MS Edge. I have deliberately refrained from using any AD Blocking on my part so as to ensure the site in question can be properly viewed. The only Firefox extension being used is Kaspersky Protection; I get the turn off Ad Blocker message both when Kaspersky Protection is on or off.

hey all,

I get the following error ONLY for internal websites (we have our own Windows CA): SEC_ERROR_CERT_SIGNATURE_ALGORITHM_DISABLED Yes, I could "ignore" the error, however this is not desired. I compared already the algorithm with some external certs (like Let's Encrypt). Same algorithm, no error....

Have already tried with several internal websites, but without success. Some information about the certificate: Algorithm: RSA 2048 key length Sign. Algorithm: SHA-256 with RSA Encryption V3

What is wrong? I have already tried a lot of things without success. Unfortunately, I no longer know what to do.We deploy the certificates (root+intermediate) via GPO (this works so far). We have the above mentioned problems only after switching from 68ESR to 78ESR.

Thanks in advance.

I have been using Firefox sync for many years now. I just got a new computer and when I tried to connect with my account, I received a message saying Firefox has locked my account.

Would you please fix this asap? I use your browser to work and not having my account back would force me to switch to Chromium, which I don't want to. Please note my account and my email address are both legit. Thanks

I made a few changes to about:config. How can i save the about:config settings for a new Firefox installation? My bet is this is possible either with distribution-policies.json or with a HTML. It also comes with customs about:config settings like disabled telemetry.
