I have a bellsouth.net email account which is actually att.net hosted on yahoo.com. I'm sure that's a large part of my problem. I can't get Thunderbird to accept the account...seems to be either a credentials or server setting issue. AT&T and Yahoo support has not been able to help. And I'm all out of ideas.

Firefox Browser uprated to 92.0 today. Previously whilst browsing Ad's were showing; today I have no Ad's displayed but have not enabled an Ad Blocker on Firefox. A site I use extensively cannot now be properly viewed; I get a message to turn off Ad Blocker. I have set Enhanced Tracking Protection to 'Off' but am still unable to obtain full functionality, I am using standard Firefox Privacy settings otherwise. I am able to browse the site properly using MS Edge. I have deliberately refrained from using any AD Blocking on my part so as to ensure the site in question can be properly viewed. The only Firefox extension being used is Kaspersky Protection; I get the turn off Ad Blocker message both when Kaspersky Protection is on or off.

I recently installed Thunderbird on a Windows 10 desktop and setup a brand new profile from scratch with multiple email accounts.

It worked fine for 24hrs, with all passwords saved. Following an install of some other software (CorelDraw and Adobe Suite) the computer was rebooted. On starting Thunderbird it asked for all the account passwords again. Having entered them all, and ticked the box for password manager to remember them, none of them were saved.

I tried deleting parent.lock (which I didn't think should be present once the program has been shut down), key4.db, cert9.db and pkcs.11.txt from the profile and restarted Thunderbird. It requested all of the passwords again and again none were saved.

If anyone has any further ideas as to what could be causing the problem I would be grateful.

Hi,

I have been using Firefox sync for many years now. I just got a new computer and when I tried to connect with my account, I received a message saying Firefox has locked my account.

Would you please fix this asap? I use your browser to work and not having my account back would force me to switch to Chromium, which I don't want to. Please note my account and my email address are both legit. Thanks

I made a few changes to about:config. How can i save the about:config settings for a new Firefox installation? My bet is this is possible either with distribution-policies.json or with a HTML. I used Kali Linux, this operating system comes with a pre-configured Firefox installation. For example it uses a permanent darkmode with duckduckgo even while cookies are denied. It also comes with customs about:config settings like disabled telemetry.

Those are all the setting i changed and i would like to find out a permanent way to import them to Firefox, right after installaing the Browser. It's time consuming changing each setting manually after each install...

toolkit.telemetry.enabled false browser.urlbar.placeholderName DuckDuckGo app.update.enabled false geo.enable false extensions.pocket.enabled false pref.privacy.disable_button.view_passwords false network.protocol-handler.external.mailto false datareporting.policy.dataSubmissionEnabled false datareporting.healthreport.uploadEnabled false browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.feeds.telemetry false browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.telemetry false browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.telemetry.structuredIngestion.endpoint leer browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.telemetry.ut.events false browser.ping-centre.telemetry false toolkit.telemetry.archive.enabled false toolkit.telemetry.bhrPing.enabled false toolkit.telemetry.firstShutdownPing.enabled false toolkit.telemetry.hybridContent.enabled false toolkit.telemetry.newProfilePing.enabled false toolkit.telemetry.reportingpolicy.firstRun false toolkit.telemetry.server leer toolkit.telemetry.server_owner leer toolkit.telemetry.shutdownPingSender.enabled false toolkit.telemetry.shutdownPingSender.enabledFirstSession false toolkit.telemetry.updatePing.enabled false toolkit.telemetry.unified false toolkit.telemetry.prompted false toolkit.telemetry.rejected true toolkit.telemetry.pioneer-new-studies-available false experiments.activeExperiment false experiments.enabled false experiments.supported false network.allow-experiments false media.peerconnection.enabled false (WebRTC leaks)

If you know any more settings that shuld be disabled, please let me know!

Hello. I just created a master password to protect my website passwords. However, this master password is required to start a session with Firefox. My suggestion is that you do not require the master password to start a Firefox session, only to access the passwords information, or to create and remember a login password for a new website. It is a hassle to enter the master password every time I want to use Firefox. Or should I keep firefox open the entire day?

Hello, We run a website that uses a bookmarklet button which allows us to capture the current URL location and save it. This is placed on the Tool Bar where its easy for a user to use. Until now, its been working perfectly but with this latest update to FireFox we are seeing the pop-up blocking being activated with the yellow message bar at the top. Now this would be ok if we only had to allow the pop up once (by clicking allow site), but unfortunately the bookmarket button has to be able to work on all sites, which is the whole point of the button. So its impractical to keep allowing it every time its used. Disabling the pop-up blocker completely then works, but then the browser is open to other pop-ups. Is there any way to allow bookmarklets to display a pop up and not display a pop-up message? Without having to disable the entire pop-up functionality. Can the FF developers allow for user placed bookmarklets to not be pop-up blocked. Maybe an exception added for that. They are placed manually by the user so are allowed by the user only.

Thanks for reading. Paul.

I am trying to disable Firefox notifications whenever I take screenshots, and googling for solutions, I found the commonly suggested solution is to uncheck the "Pause notifications until Firefox restarts" box in Permissions:

This option is not available in my browser version; thus, I'm hoping there's a newer workaround for this.

Considering how many closed/archived threads there are about this, you'd think it'd be fixed by now.

There have been add-ons like "New Tab Homepage" that worked to correct this but every time there is a solution, an 'update' corrects the 'problem' by forcing the search engine back to the toolbar.

After many years of trying solutions I've come to the conclusion that this is a deliberate 'feature', much like the many completely useless 'features' added to Windows for reasons known only to Microsoft, and the companies they share your data with.

Someone prove me wrong, please.

Hello,

this topic is about two things.

1. How do I reset the data of the built-in Protections Dashboard without resetting all of Firefox?

2. and probably more complicated, how do I stop Firefox from checking for "Login breach information"?

I do already have and always had "Show alerts about passwords for breached web sites" in options disabled. Still the Dashboard shows that "1 password stored securely.".

Mozilla says "[i]Firefox Monitor warns you if your online accounts were involved in a known data breach. For more information, see Firefox Password Manager - Alerts for breached websites. To get the latest login breach information and more, Firefox connects to firefox.settings.services.mozilla.com/i"

So now I've gone as far as blocking "firefox.settings.services.mozilla.com" through HOSTS. Still the Dashboard shows that "1 password stored securely.".

Why is it still checking? How is it still checking? How do I stop this?

For a few days now, Firefox (Dev. Edition, version 90) has not allowed me to manually visit http:// websites, and automatically and silently redirects to their https:// version. This is on every single website I have tried.

Things that I have tried:

Disable/remove HTTPS Everywhere Enable then re-disable built-in Firefox HTTPS Only Mode

Restart Firefox 'Forget about this site' Clear cache Clear site preferences A bunch of stuff in about:config (fallback-to-https, stricttransportpreloadlist etc)
