Running Chrome and Windows 11 with Thunderbird 128.7 0esr (32-bit) through Gmail.

Following a restart of PC, only primary Thunderbird gmail address functions. Secondary account is still in email account structure; however, there are no emails remaining (many were there prior to this restart), and I cannot send or receive from this account through Thunderbird. Account is still active in gmail.

Account settings in Thunderbird are same for both email addresses. Both addresses were established and have been used for more than 5 years.

Unsure if relevant, but after beginning to use OneDrive approximately one month ago, computer has been restarting without being requested, and have difficulties awakening the computer from sleep mode, sometimes necessitating having to force a restart with the power switch.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hello, Many thanks for providing thunderbird. After the last update to 115.180.0 (Linux Mint 20) my inbox is shown in a way, that I can not read it anymore. I really do not how to describe it properly. So I attached a screenshot on the part I find difficult to read. I think there is a off by one between the column header an the content. Downgrading to a previous version was not possible - the profile was changed. Can I fix this myself - if yes how. Looking forward to your reply.

Hello. This question concerns the Windows 11 desktop version of Firefox.

I have long used the Home and End keys on my extended keyboard to scroll to the very top of any given page in Firefox (Home) or to the very bottom of that page (End).

But, lately, I notice that, for no reason I can figure out, Firefox no longer responds to those shortcuts. Now, when I tap Home or End, the page may, at first, scroll up or down slightly but not to the top or bottom. If I press Home or End again, nothing happens at all.

Sometimes, if I press Ctrl + Home simultaneously or Ctrl + End the page will scroll to the top or bottom respectively.

Why has Firefox's behavior apparently changed? Is there an issue with my keyboard or operating system settings? (I use a Logitech G915 keyboard.)

Please let me know how to restore Firefox's shortcut functionality, where I can tap just Home to scroll to the top of a page or only End to scroll to the bottom of a page.

Thanks and be well.

Back in the days it was always possible to change Proxy port number (or, I believe, any other numeric value) by moving the mouse scrolling wheel when the cursor is placed inside the related field. I don't know whose intelligent decision it was to disable this functionality, but it has gone since the last update (v130.0). Now the window scrolls regardless of the cursor position. It looks like it works fine, but for those who are used to this kind of functionality, it turns out to be inconvenient.

Please, roll this back before it's too late :) Thank you.

Trying to get my laptop PC (Windows) Thunderbird to accept change in gmail password. Laptop shows blown-up (Thunderbird, I assume?) screen asking me to click on "allow" button. No such button is visible: presumably it is off-screen? I've tried everything mentioned on internet to deal with this, and nothing works. Thunderbird + gmail worked perfectly on that Dell laptop until I changed the gmail password (using my desktop PC). Any suggestions would be appreciated. E.g., should I take the laptop to BestBuy or another service point? Or am I overlooking something? THANKS, Fred

Read Aloud is not producing sound in Thunderbird 128.7.1esr (64-bit), Windows 11 Pro. The app does highlight the text it is reading and progresses through the email, but there is no sound. I have checked various voices and tried to sound test the Piper voices. No luck. Windows Narrator (not ideal) will read the emails. I have checked every sound setting I can think of several times. I contacted Read Aloud support and they were unable to resolve my issue; they did confirm it worked in their Thunderbird app.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Hello, I recently got a new computer - the ninth or twelvth (i've been programmer and service techy all my working life, processing over 5000 comps over time - big company), so I have always transferred the right profile contents to the new profile in the roaming folder - everytime all was working fine. Now, with Thunderbird version 137.0.1 (64-Bit) in Win 10 pro I have the problem that although copying the files to the right place again (roaming) the addressbooks stayed empty, but all the old mail structures and mails came nicely over in the new system. Manually copying the abook.mab (100KB) and history.mab (50KB) to the roaming profiles has absolutely no effect, the addressbooks stay empty stubbornly. I have deleted and uninstalled Thunderbird, deleted the Roamings and Locals to make a clean new install with re-copying to the profile files - no effect either. Ten minutes ago while looking for the version a new update rolled in, so I restarted, to no avail - still empty addressbooks. I could always print these files and manually rewrite the 3 abooks, but this should be the last remedy only. Any ideas what is running wrong? A BIG THANKS for your help! Peter

Note: This is also an accessibility issue as those of us with limited or impaired motor control can be inordinately affected in a way that limits our use of Firefox or makes it virtually impossible to use in any use-case more complex than browsing YouTube.

Issue: There are certain, pre-defined, keyboard shortcuts within Firefox whose action is both immediate and irrevocable. Those of us who have limited, or impaired, motor control are particularly susceptible to this, though I have heard anecdotal evidence that other - unimpaired - users suffer from this as well.

Example: There is a particular key combination that I periodically, (accidentally), hit while typing that immediately and irrevocably clears the dialog that I am entering text into - as I am doing here - with no possibility of recovery and no warning that a potentially disastrous action is about to take place.

My specific case, (that is, the most recent instance of my specific case), occurred last night while composing a reply to a topic within the Microsoft Flight Simulator forum addressing a particular, and popular, issue with the sim.

I spent a significant amount of time creating this message - setting paragraph formatting, creating tables, inserting images, carefully crafting the text and such like, that had taken me upwards of an hour to prepare.

While typing - I managed to inadvertently hit a magical "Nuke-and-Destroy" key combination that caused all my lengthy, careful, painstakingly crafted work to immediately vanish with no chance of recovery.

To this very day I still have no idea what combination of keys does this - and if I knew, I would try to suppress it at the keyboard/system level so that Firefox never sees it.

When I searched for a solution to this problem, I found the following article on this site: [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/que.../1364260]

In essence, (though it was worded much more politely), the answer was that Mozilla knows about the issue of potentially undesirable "magic" key combinations, has no plans to address it, and if you don't like it it just vacuums being you.

Though this particular key combination might be useful in certain cases, (though I cannot imagine what use-case would benefit from accidentally destroying hours of work), the utterly irrevocable nature of the action - and the absolute lack of any warning whatsoever - makes this a classic case in the annals of horrid user interface design; to the point of being a functional bug even though it works as designed.

A more desirable action would be to:

  1. Allow it to be disabled entirely, along with the other potentially annoying/disastrous keyboard shortcuts.
  2. Provide a (default) action that warns the user that this action is both immediate and irrevocable and allowing the (default) option to abort the action. Extra credit: Allow the user to permanently disable the offending feature from the dialog.
  3. In the unlikely event that a particular user might wish to use this regularly and deliberately, allow the user to bypass the warnings and permanently enable the feature - with the caveat that it vacuums being them if they do something wrong - not unlike the disclaimer when accessing about:config.

I would suggest that this action, and the action of other "magic" keys/key-combinations within Firefox represents a significant burden to those of us who may already be struggling to use a keyboard. Perpetuating this class of issue, especially since it's a known issue and there's no desire whatsoever to accommodate those of us negatively affected by it, borders on both arrogance and ableism.

I would like to humbly place this request at the feet of whomever is responsible for this atrocious policy and earnestly request they reverse this unpleasant and destructive behavior.

Respectfully submitted: Jim Harris.

I'm currently using FF 134.0.2 on a Mac running Sonoma 14.6.1. I'm unable to use the Find shortcut (⌘ + f), but I am able to use other shortcuts in Sheets: ⌘ + c, ⌘ + v, ⌘ + Option + m. That shortcut operates as expected on other sites, opening the Find pop-up at the bottom of the browser. It's not working within Sheets to search a spreadsheet or at the browser-level when on a Sheets tab.

Any idea why that one shortcut isn't working?

Something like this question has been asked so many times, searching for other's answers has become useless. The answers vary over the years and Thunderbird version numbers, not to mention that I can't even find documentation from Mozilla on this topic (official method of changing font size for average user; official list of css keywords, their format, and examples of use; etc.).

I am trying to increase the size of the Thunderbird fonts—not the ones used to display an email, but the ones used to show my list of accounts, mailboxes, and folders and the list of emails I have received (Table View, not Card View). For what its worth, I've already changed the font magnification to 1.5x.

I set toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets to true, and created a chrome folder in my profile directory. In it I put this userChrome.css:

/* Set font size in folder pane */ treechildren::-moz-tree-cell-text { font-size: 18pt !important; }

/* Set font size in message list page */ treechildren::-moz-tree-cell-text { font-size: 22pt !important; }

However, restarting Thunderbird (multiple times with various font sizes) shows no changes. What do I do to change my font sizes? (The average user shouldn't even need to know about profiles or style sheets!)
