I just installed an update when prompted by Firefox. Now I can't log into Hotmail.

FF 129.0.2 x64. The update restarted FF. Everything else seems to work OK. But when I go to Hotmail.com, at first it displays my Hotmail inbox - which is odd; all other webpages requiring a login were logged out when I installed the update, requiring me to log in again - but then it switches to an error:

Something went wrong and we can't sign you in right now. Please try again later.

The Microsoft account login server has detected too many repeated authentication attempts. Please wait a moment and try again.

The same Hotmail account is still logged in and functioning on Chrome. This is why I think it's a FF-specific problem.

Hi guys, an automatic update seem to have made my Thunderbird Flatpak unusable. I have literally thousands of Emails in several Accounts as POP3 and need to access them. Suddenly since today I get the error message "You have launched an older version of Thunderbird" (Create New Profile) (Quit). Both choices are not acceptable for me. Any ideas what I can do? Any help is appreciated!

I'm using Discover to update Flatpak apps. A few days ago it updated to the latest 128 version of Thunderbird and I had subsequently made some changes to my profile and the details.

I wasn't paying attention this morning when updating via Discover and, once finished, found that Thunderbird had been downgraded to 115, leaving me unable to open it without the "A newer version of Thunderbird may have made changes to your profile which are no longer compatible with this older version." message.

I don't want to create a new profile, so what's the best way for me to switch back to 128 while maintaining the profile I had set up on it?

Thunderbird latest upgrade (128.0.1esr) - some messages not visible

Hello,

After upgrading the Thunderbird to the latest version (128.0.1esr (32-bit)), and trying to switch View->Layout->Classic View to Vertical View, and back to the Classic View, messages from last almost 15 months are not visible. Messages prior to 15 months ago are visible, and from that point, just couple of them showing totally unrelated content than nothing; looks like something is corrupted.

After the latest Thunderbird upgrade, one new message arrived and everything looks OK.

Any hint please?

Thanks. Branko

Thunderbird needs to change its coding very soon because all Google Gmail account holders who are transferring their mail to Mozilla will no longer have access near the end of the month. Google is cutting us off. They say that it's a security issue because they cannot verify authorization. Since their decision is final, Mozilla Thunderbird must adapt by changing the email programming before August 24th.

So, Mozilla, what are you going to do and why has this been kept quiet? It seems that Microsoft will still cooperate but forget Google.

requested update to v.116 instead went to 115.14 esr channel

I have Thunderbird installed on two Windows machines that I manually keep in sync. I copy my data files and profile back and forth between the two machines as I use each one, and I keep them updated to identical versions. Have been doing this for years with no trouble.

Last time I clicked on "About Thunderbird" on one machine (A) it offered to upgrade from 115.10.1 to 116.0 (auto updates turned off). But the actual update failed and now its offering only to upgrade to 115.14 esr. OK, but now I'm concerned the other machine (B) with the same update prompt (to 116) might not follow the same path, then I have the two versions out of sync and that is a real PITA to fix as I discovered once some years ago.

Why didn't I get the 116 version that was offered in the dialog, and instead switched to esr channel, and how can I be sure the other machine will switch to offering 115.14 esr also so I can keep identical versions? I thought of creating Windows restore point just in case so I can roll back but would rather not risk it.

Hello! After installing update 129.0.1, in the profile folder, along the path: AppData/roaming/mozilla/firefox/profiles, a folder "extensions store menus" appeared, it contains the file data.life.bin, which changes its modification date as if it was synchronized when the browser closes. I would like to know if anyone else has this folder and file? . I checked the file for viruses, it is clean. Thanks in advance for your answers).

I updated to 125 in order to install a new version of an add-on that has been made compatible. But two other add-ons are now incompatible.

How do I roll back to 115? I have a backup of my hard drive with 115 installed and working. Is it enough to copy the old Thunderbird folder and the /Program Files/Mozilla Thunderbird folder?

Thunderbird used to come with spell checking ready to go.

I have just installed the latest version of Thunderbird and have written a few words including a deliberate spelling mistake and nothing happens. I get the spell checking window but no message I press recheck text and nothing happens

The check spelling while typing box is ticked.

Is a dictionary pre-installed or do you have to install one first?

Please resolve.
