Disappearing Sent Folder

My Sent folder disappeared. How do I restore the folder with the sent messages still intact. Or, at the least, just restore an empty Sent folder. The In-Box, Drafts, and Trash are still there.

All the settings are correct, and it seems that because there's no Sent folder I cannot send an email. When I try to send a message I get the attached Error.

My local phone company routes email through Yahoo Mail, then to Thunderbird. It was all working fine until my Sent folder disappeared. Now because of the missing Sent folder I have to create the email message in Thunderbird saving it in Drafts so I have a record. Then, I have to copy it and send it from Yahoo Mail. Needless to say this is a pain in the you know what.

Can someone please provide the instructions to get my Sent folder back?

Hello, My thunderbird is displaying the following message when I forward an email. "An error occurred while sending the mail. the server responded the "name file.eml" attachment has been dissallowed extension". This error also occurs if the message you forward does not have attachments. my account is configured with pop. How can i solve the problem .

I just installed Thunderbird for Android on my Pixel phone for the first time. I have used Thunderbird on my desktop PC for many years, so I am very familiar with Thunderbird in general. I used the "Export for Mobile" feature on my desktop installation, to import my account settings into the Android installation.

For the most part, Thunderbird for Android works great, as I would have expected. However I am seeing a problem which appears (to me) to be a bug. When I compose and send an email on my phone, and then look in the "Sent" folder on the phone, the email that I just sent shows up there. But only on the phone. If I open Thunderbird on my desktop PC and look at the Sent folder there, the email that I sent from the phone is not there. Apparently, it only gets placed in the phone's Sent folder, but it does not get copied to the email server.

A few other details: -- I use Thunderbird on 2 different desktop systems, a PC and a Mac. When I send email from either of those, that email DOES show up in the Sent folder on the other system. Emails that are sent from either desktop system also show up in my phone's Sent folder. So I know that the Thunderbird desktop application does upload the message to the email server's Sent folder correctly. But Thunderbird for Android does not upload its sent emails.

-- I don't know if it matters, but my email server is Microsoft 365, hosted by GoDaddy.

-- As far as I can tell, the most obvious setting for this is the "Upload sent messages" checkbox, which can be found in the "Sending mail" section of "Account settings" in the Thunderbird Android settings. This checkbox IS IN FACT turned on. I could not find any other settings which could possibly affect the copying of sent messages up to the email server's folders.

Is this a bug? Any ideas what might be causing this? Thanks for any help.

Hello, I'm using the most recent version of Thunderbird on a desktop using Windows 11. Just this morning (Aug 11), all incoming email to all my four accounts are coming in with no subject or correspondents showing and when opened the email is not formatted in HTML, just plain text and lots of code. I have tried several fixes with no success: repair folders, turn off all add-ons and anti-virus protection, uninstalled and reinstalled software. Can you help, please? Thanks!

Hi there I have recently started using Thunderbird again on my iMac and have noticed when I send a email using Gmail the sent email is showing in my sent folder on my Gmail account but is not showing in the sent folder on Thunderbird the only emails in my Thunderbird sent folder are emails I have sent using Thunderbird any emails sent from devices like my iMac or iPad are not showing up in the sent folder on Thunderbird.

I am not sure why this is happening any help would be much appreciated.

I have added the android app to my phone and tablet but the messages are not synchronising fully with the version on my windows laptop. The 'sent' messages from my phone / tablet do not appear on my laptop although 'received' messages do. 'Sent' messages using the app do not appear in my Gmail linked account either. Any advice would be welcome please, it's a bit of a hassle having to keep checking things on separate machines.

I had a defective hard drive that was replaced. I lost the profiles that I had previously on the old hard drive (Except for the profiles from a year ago). Is it possible to reinstall Thunderbird as if it was a completely new program, link it to Spectrum webmail, and recover all my emails still on Spectrum webmail. and also create a new recreated profile. Thunderbird not displaying all new emails in the inbox. New emals are downloaded and visible in all other folders.

Problem started 2 days ago.

Checking on my cellphone using Google chrome on my webmail account new emails are shown.

If I quit Thunderbird and restart the new emails now show in the inbox.

What needs to be done to get All new emails showing up in my Thunderbird Inbox?

Die Nachricht konnte nicht gesendet werden, weil die Verbindung mit dem SMTP-Server ihre Ablaufzeit (Timeout) überschritten hat. Versuchen Sie es nochmals.

Any thoughts on this will be very much appreciated. I have 2 email accounts with Yahoo and am using Thunderbird to access them. It used to work properly, but now I can receive emails on both accounts, but can only send emails on one of them. The other account gives me the error message: "Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending email. The mail server responded: Request failed; Mailbox unavailable. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again." When I then look at the SMTP user name, it shows the name for the other account. When I change that user name to the correct name, I can then send emails on that account, but the process also changes the user name in the second account, such that it no longer allows sending emails. In other words, when I go to 'account settings' and set the SMTP user name for account 1, then go to account 2 settings, I find that the account 1 user name shows up. If I then change the account 2 user name and go back to look at the settings for account 1, I find that the SMTP user name in account 1 has changed to the same as I just changed in account 2. Additional info: Prior to this problem, I had gone into my emails on the Yahoo website and changed the password on both accounts. When I then opened Thunderbird it asked me for the new passwords for each account, as it normally does, and everything looked fine until I tried to send using the one account. Since awhile while, the items I send, don';t show up in the sent folder of that account. The complete folder is empty, which means that I also lost messages. I didn't make any changes to the settings, it might have happened due to an update maybe?

My other accounts work still fine. I checked all settings I could think of that might affect it, but haven't found a solution. I'm getting pretty desperate and hope someone can help me out.

It's an IMAP account. I've selected the 'sent folder' in subscribed. 'When sending messages, automatically' the 'place a copy in' is checked and directed to the email address. Also tried it with checking 'other' and select email address. I also just tried to 'local folder', but nothing happens.

I hope my description is fine. If more info is needed to tackle this problem, I like to hear!

For a few months now I get a Send Message Error whenever I try to send an email from one of my addresses (see first screenshot below). I've checked my SMTP server settings and they all seem to be correct. (2nd and 3rd screenshots). I'm using the latest version of Thunderbird on Mac OS 15.3 Sequoia. I have no firewalls. I have been using Thunderbird for many years and enjoy using it. One issue I have not been able to resolve. I have a xx.sbcglobal.net email which is my primary email account and I set it up as such. I also have a secondary email account xx.gmail.com

When I create a new email, Thunderbird almost always selects the secondary gmail account as the sending email. I am not sure what I can do to get around this.

When I create an email such as the attached Craiglist example, both emails pop up, but the gmail, is the one highlighted and therefore the default email address and if I don't catch it, it goes out on gmail.
