Hi,

Someone sends me a calendar appointment for 11th of May at 16:30-18:30 and another at 18:30:20:30. I accept these appointments. In my calendar, they correctly display at these times.

When I close and re-open Thunderbird, the first appointment is now scheduled for 12th of May, but the second is fine. When I close and re-open Thunderbird again, the second appointment is now scheduled for 12th of May as well.

The times are completely different too.

I'm using Thunderbird 138 from the Arch Linux repositories but I've also tried the Flatpak package to no avail. I've tried setting my Timezone manually and using my System timezone to no avail.

GNOME Calendar, which is also synced to my Caldav server, displays the appointments at the correct day and time. The web interface for my mail server also displays correctly.

It's only Thunderbird that screws it up time and time again.

This has been going on for years and it is driving me insane. I can't use my calendar with Thunderbird because I keep thinking my appointments are at the wrong time!

Send help.

Using Thunderbird 128.5.0esr (64-bit) on 128.5.0esr (64-bit). In calendar view, I see all my appointments with the background colour of the calendar they are in (see attached). In my inbox view, I have the Events tab open at the right. All day events have the background colour of the appropriate calendar, but ones with timings have a dot. (see attached). How do I make ALL calendar events have the background colour of the associated calendar in the mail events tab??

Sorry if this is in the wrong place. Did not seem to be an obvious one for my question.

I go tired of the Outlook web client always trying to us AI to assist me. Installed Thunderbird ver 128.6.1 esr on a Ubuntu 24.04 system running Cinnamon desktop. All components are up-to-date (or should be as auto-update is on). System details at end of message.

Screens for mail and tasks are rock solid. The calendar jitters up and down rapidly small amounts. Not the entire page. Just the part where the calendar is displayed. Makes things a tad blurry and is tiring to look at.

Any ideas on how to resolve?

TIA

Attempting to restore calendar to Thunderbird 60.2.1 running in WIN 7 Pro. The "available" Lightning add-on is incompatible with this version of TB. However I know that Lightning 6.2.2.1 is running happily in another otherwise identical installation! How do I get the file (.xpi ?) to install Lightning 6.2.2.1 ? TB error console: Date() "Fri Apr 18 2025 10:31:04 GMT-0800 (GMT-08:00)"

And display properly in the TB headers display: Date Fri, 18 Apr 2025 11:55:29 -0600

Yet TB displays 2 hrs earlier in the Date column: 09:55

How to correct? I had set the Calendar timezone manually, but it is now set as above. I tried deleting calendar.timezone.local but it is rewritten when TB exits.

After adding my nextcloud calendar via CalDAV in Thunderbird 115 (no plugin) I can perfecly add or remove events to the calendar and they get synced well, however, if I receive a notification the button to dismiss them does not do a thing. Sorry if this is a double post, but I only found similar issues with older versions of Thunderbird and a plugin for the calendar.

Hello,

I am getting old, my vision is much weaker than it used to be and now I have what is commonly referred to as "Eye Floaters." There's nothing that can be done to fix that, but with dark themes I can usually not see them. Due to a bug (or feature, if you prefer) in the Windows 10 Scaling and Layout settings, once you change them, there's no going back, at least that I have found. Low vision forced me to try to increase the font size in Windows, and in the (seemingly irreversible) process, I set Scaling to 150%. That fixed the problem of text being too small, but it also affected many programs in a negative way. Everything is waaay too big. For example, the menu bar and overall page header in Firefox was massive, taking up nearly a third of the top of my monitor screen. It did the same thing in Chrome only worse. The page footer was almost as big and between the two it left about two inches in the middle to view a website's content. This was very annoying to say the least.

I found a fix for Firefox, by changing the ui.textScaleFactor to 100. However, that did not work for Thunderbird. I found a way to fix it, by going back to Thunderbird 102, and now the email and address book are fine, and the calendar works fine, except for the colors with really bother me. I can't read the screen without looking away to the right of the screen. This is because the colors are too bright, and that is in a dark theme. I don't even want to look at a light theme. It would probably blind me.

Here's what I have. The 1st image is what it looks like, and the 2nd is what I would like to make it look like. Is it possible to do that? Please excuse the low quality color replacement on the 2nd image...

Hello community!

I use Thunderbird desktop for two emails: personal outlook.com (ms365 or whatever ma calls it) and school exchange account.

Exchange works fine using owl and is able to sync calendar correctly. For personal email, it appears I can only connect via imap instead of MS’s protocol, which limits its ability to sync calendar. I’m wondering if there’s a way to login personal ms email similar to exchange to sync calendar etc.?

Thx in advance for ur help :-)

Steps: 1. Setup Thunderbird with a CalDAV calendar (in my case I am using Baikal as the back-end). 2. Add (and modify) a bunch of tasks and calendar events to that CalDAV calendar, using Thunderbird and any external CalDAV tool (in my case I am using Tasks.org on my phone).

Expected behavior: The tasks and calendar events would seemlessly sync between Thunderbird and Tasks.org.

Bug:

  • Tasks and calendar events added on the Tasks.org do not end up in Thunderbird.
  • Tasks and calendar events added on Thunderbird, however, do end up on Tasks.org as expected.
  • Tasks and calendar events modified on Tasks.org are not be synchronized to Thunderbird.
  • If a modified, not synced tasks or calendar event would be modified in Thunderbird, the latter prompts ```This item has recently been changed on the server. Submitting your changes will overwrite the changes made on the server.```.
  • Pressing the button "Reload all calendars and synchronize changes" has no effect.
  • Toggling online and offline mode has no effect.

Hi, my Thunderbird calendar reminders are coming up 4 hours after the meeting.

Running Kubuntu. System locale/timezone OK, TBird set to use system time (though manually making it the same didn't help). HW Clock matches system time. Pacific/Auckland.

Tried exporting all my appointments and re-importing them - no change.

(None of the topics provided when creating the question seems to "best describe" this question. So I chose one at random.)

When I create a new task, I can choose a due date. But it seems that when choosing a due date, it forces me to also choose a due time. Is it possible to add a task with a due date but no due time? Maybe something akin to the "all day event" for calendar events?

This answer says to "choose the option 'All Day Event'", but I don't have this option when creating a task (see attached screenshot).

My workaround is to choose an arbitrary time. While this works somewhat, it's unsatisfactory.

Thanks for any help.

I have 3 Google calendars added to Thunderbird. After every startup I get a popup with the Google authorization page for every calender asking me to authorize access. I already tried removing all Calendars, cleaning the cache, resetting all calendar/google related settings in the config editor and readding teh calendars.

Is there a way to avoid the reauthorizations after each startup and have Thunderbird access permanently authorized?

There are no add-ons except Owl for Exchange (needed for my work outlook account) and Compact Headers.

Thunderbird is version 128.6.1esr on Ubuntu.

I have run into a calendar notification bug when Thunderbird is not executing. This started about a month ago and may be due to changes in the 140esr release (I was on 128esr previously).

Suppose I set an appointment for tomorrow at 9pm and ask the calendar to notify me a day in advance. If Thunderbird is executing at 9pm on day before, this works fine. If Thunderbird is not active, the notification is never made when I open Thunderbird after 9 pm on the day before the appointment.

This problem also occurs if I Snooze the notification and do not have Thunderbird running when the snooze period is completed. If does work if Thunderbird is open at the time of Snooze completion.

I have tested this on two different computers, a desktop and notebook, both running Windows 10. Currently running Thunderbird 140.2.0esr.

I have missed two appointments when Thunderbird calendar did not warn me about them.

Get Messages doesn't work anymore. I created another profile with the same email address and it works fine. The issue is that I lost all my info, addresses, and most importantly the Calendar. I've been messing around with this all in trying to import that info into the new profile, but failing. I copied calendar-data to the new profile, but it doesn't show up. Can someone please help!
