I was able to change the font in Ctrl J by changing my system font (windows 10, Firefox font used to automatically follow it). However after the latest Firefox update, that no longer works for Firefox (my system font is still OK). Please help me change the Libabry font again! The default font (probably SegoeUI) is very hard to read on my computer, it's blurry and comes in light gray.

Note: I'm not talking about the website font (it's fine and can be changed in Firefox settings). The library font size is fine too, only the font itself is too hard to read.

Note2: I tried changing my system font to other random fonts (using the registry), restarting my computer in between etc. That still works, but Firefox won't follow.

Have an existing Gmail account that was working great for years with TB, now each time I try to open TB I get the error:

Login to account ".......@gmail.com failed with three boxes with these options:

Retry Enter New Password Cancel

Retry gives same error as above

Enter New passsword for .........@gmail.com is entered then OK (the correct password is there already) then same error as above!!!

In the email server settings for setting up Gmail to work with TB the instructions say:

Use the table below to update your client with the correct information. For help updating your settings, search your email client's Help Center for instructions on setting up IMAP.

Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server

imap.gmail.com

Requires SSL: Yes

Port: 993

Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server

smtp.gmail.com

Requires SSL: Yes

Requires TLS: Yes (if available)

Requires Authentication: Yes

Port for SSL: 465

Port for TLS/STARTTLS: 587 Full Name or Display Name Your name Account Name, User name, or Email address Your full email address Password Your Gmail password

HOWEVER in the actual setup there the options for Security Settings are different than the instructions above:

For Incoming Server

Connection Security:

None STARTLS SSL/TLS

and for Authentication Method:

Normal Password Encrypted password Kerberos/GSSAPI NTLM TLS Certificate OAuth2

and the same options apply to SMTP outgoing Server setup screens

my port number settings are correct my emailname is correct the password is correct the account is setup as IMAP the server name is imap.gmail.com and the outgoing server name is smtp.gmail.com

my security settings both incoming and outgoing servers are:

for connection security: SSL/TLS for authentication Normal password

There is NO option to choose "requires authentication:yes" as in the instructions to setup

but unable to send or receive gmail thru thunderbird

Please help what option under security and authentication works? for both incoming and outgoing servers?

Thank you

I updated TB to 78.12 two days ago and have not been able to start it. I restarted my PC a few times and tried Safe Mode for both Windows 10 starting and TB to no avail. Installing V78.11 solved the problem instantly. Everything is back to normal now. I wonder if anyone else has experienced the same.

BTW, I cannot find a button to click to ask a question. I had to search the Internet and find this link to ask this question: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/new/thunderbird/form Could anyone shed some light on this?

Dearest creators, Firefox for Android have a bothering issue. In any Android phone while listening directly from SoundCloud site not from app, while only in background the sound of the music is clipped and sometimes interrupted. I only use Firefox and also as a music player and it's perfect, but lately I have found that SoundCloud have problems with audio rendering while (in my case only) Firefox is in background. Also for this site cannot be applied any sound equalizer compared to any other YT or online radio. Please fix this issue... You're the best!

I am running 78.10.0 on Ubuntu 20.04.4. Several months ago, I found that I had a beta version of Tbird and downgraded to 78. Because of the change in address book format between 78 and beta, the address book in 78 was blank. I found mab file from an older version of Tbird and decided that it was sufficient to use to build a new address book in sqlite. I got that done. (Don't remember the exact process, but it seemed to work.)

Now I can read the address book, I can send messages from the address book, but if I compose a message and start to type a recipient name in the TO: field, Tbird doesn't check the address book. Nor does it add addresses for outgoing mail to the Collected Addresses book. Both of those actions have been set up in Preferences. Anyone know how to fix this?

In the active profile, the abook files are abook.mab.bak, abook.sqlite, abook.sqlite-wal.

When I was using version 88.x, Firefox had not crashed for years. Then all of a sudden, Firefox would crash several times a day. I looked and Firefox had updated me to ver 89.0. But I let it ride. Then Firefox about a month ago, Firefox stsrted to crash EVERY DAY. Then one day it crashed EIGHT TIMES IN A ROW and I mean when I hit RESTART, IT WOULD CRASH. I tried to revert to rel 88 but Mozilla WILL NOT ALLOW US TO REVERT BACK TO A PREVIOUS VERSION. When you do, the PROFILE gives you TWO OPTIONS: 'EXIT or CREATE A NEW PROFILE.' Certainly you do not want to CREATE A NEW PROFILE as you will LOSE, your history, add-ons, Bookmarks, EVERYTHING and you see a WHITE Firefox screen with nothing. So I choose EXIT and tried to put up with the CRAPPY ver 89. BUT FIREFOX KEPT CRASHING. TODAY IT CRASHED SIX TIMES IN A ROW......When I checked the VERSION, YOU HAD UPGRADED TO VER 91.0b6 (64-bit) AND IT IS NO BETTER.

WHAT IN THE HECK IS GOING ON. I DO NOT WANT TO LEARN CHROME OR EDGE AS I HAVE USED FIREFOX SINCE VERSION 1.0.

DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO GO BACK AND KEEP YOUR OLD PROFILE, FLACKY OR NOT AS THAT IS BETTER THAN 'RESTARTING' FIREFOX ALL THE TIME.

MY VERSION 88 NEVER FAILED.

Hi. When Firefox added the screenshot functionality, it was very useful to me since i didn't have to open snip & sketch every-time I want to take a screenshot. I did notice that the ability to access the screenshot from the address bar was removed and moved to the mouse's right click options instead. I work with Microsoft azure and have to create documents for clients and by default, right clicking doesn't work on azure and some other sites. Because of this, i can't take screenshots using Firefox. Is there a way to put the screenshot option back to the address bar or maybe have it show up in the toolbar options? Thanks.

I am using Thunderbird 91.0b3 (64-bit) on Linux Mint 20.1 running XFCE 4.14.3

I am trying to set TB to open a PDF attachment in the external system viewer Xreader.

I have tried the following:-

1) edited the mimeTypes.rdf file with the correct lines for a PDF (https://termbin.com/qwpf).

2) deleted the mimeTypes.rdf file and tried to set it in Preferences.

3) edited user.js

In Firefox there is a well documented way (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/view-pdf-files-firefox) to set this up but I could not find the same for Thunderbird... why not?

Which magic file is it??

Is it mimeTypes.rdf or user.js or handlers.json ?!

Hope anyone can help.

Know under security. The list of where you were logged in. blah blah time ago. So I start logging them out. Then SUDDENLY this PIECE OF SH*T just STOPS DOING IT. Keep asking me the STUPID. QUESTION. WHY. I. WANT. TO. LOGOUT. That my friend is the MOST STUPID THING TO DEMAND TO LOGOUT! WTF! Is Mozilla finally gone NUTS?! I BET I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE. Man Mozilla. Used your stuff since the BEGINNING it was MADE. BUT DAMNIT! DON'T YOU DO THIS "FORUM SUPPORT" Like that DAMN GOOGLE! Argh this is SO STUPID!! ! Oh the BEST ONE is NOT BEING ABLE TO CHANGE THAT DAMN PICTURE ON THE TOP RIGHT!!! /\ RIGHT UP THERE! SCREAM!!! YOU JUST BEAT GOOGLE. Wtf! MAN WTF? Oh I KNOW I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE HERE. YOUR. DAMN. MENU. BUTTON. DOES. NOT. WORK. DAMNIT!!! Put it this way AS OF Today if YOU DO NOT GIVE ME AN ANSWER. Boy you BETTER hope these real experts have the answer. I AM SO PISSED OFF AT YOUR STUPID "KIDDY MENUS" man. WE INSTALL FIREFOX OVER CHROME BECAUSE WE ARE MOSTLY EXPERTS YOU DINGBATS! And for F**K SAKE! BACK. UP. THE. PASSWORD. INFORMATION. WHEN. WE. CHANGE. OR. RESET. THE. SERVICE. SO. WE. CAN. GO. BACK. TO. IT. IF. WE. NEED. TO. Why didn't you think of this already?! Stored backup on the client's DEVICE. Remember. It is ENCRYPTED. Argh. Please someone who is a real expert help me with this. The ones who take their own time. To help. Your all amazing. Wish those asses would have a help staff... Hah. I will give them a break. Google is the antichrist of huge companies with names like Microsoft and... cough copy lifting. Can they NEVER come up with it from SCRATCH? This is like Jeff Goldbloom in Jarassic Park! (I KNOW I sp'ed on that.) Ever notice how ALL the new software "kind of works". Makes me sick. Anyway. Remember him saying they didn't make it themselves. Just slapped a Google label on it.. hahah... Am sure there are MILLIONS OF us that feel that way. I figure he had the perfect description. Who the hell makes the "change your avatar" not work and EXPECT you to TRUST them with ALL your PRIVATE passwords. Logins. And be this moronic! Never thought I would be saying that about Mozilla. Wtf Happened? You hire people from Google? I am feeling all your guys pain for you man. This is some real stupid sh*t! Talking about wasting time when you don't have a beer. I just lost all my damned passwords. Because it did not save them at all. Having the DAMNED ENCRYPTED FILE ON OUR HARDWARE will NOT "compromise" it. WHY didn't you think of this already? I REALLY wanted that beer. I was SO PISSED I almost did something I have NEVER done before. I ALMOST installed Microsoft's explorer crap for Android. Hah. How fitting they put that on Google. That is SUCH a smack in their face. Anyway, here's your image everyone hates to see. I am sure... Go figure. Now that button down there does not work. No. I turned off all add-ons, even the extra protection in Firefox is off. And I can not press that DAMNED "Browse..." button. Wtf man. I really wish I had that beer...

Upon the subject action, Windows 10 takes a system/memory dump, sends it to Microsoft, and automatically restarts. Firefox appears to be initializing for about 3 seconds (after clicking its shortcut) and then the crash occurs. The display of the initial Firefox landing page is not obtained.

The blue screen of death (BSOD) has this message: KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED

Also, the networking software (NETGEAR) is rendered inoperable and must be re-installed upon Windows restart. Otherwise, my system is stable. Maintenance is regularly applied as it becomes available.

Netflix and Prime Video do not allow video playing and give me errors associated with Widevine. Thing is, all the threads I have found about Widevine issues for Firefox on MacOS say that new widevine is not supported on or before MacOS 10.11.

I am using a MacbookPro 13" 2012 Running MacOS 10.15.17 (Catalina) Firefox 90.0.2 (64-bit)

Installed Firefox 78.9.0esr as suggested roll back solution and it did not change anything. Reinstalled Firefox 90.0.2 and now Firefox Plugins section is is telling me that "Widevine Content Decryption Module provided by Google Inc. will be installed shortly." but it doesn't seem to change. I have always stayed updated on MacOS and Firefox versions, and suddenly in early 2021 this has become an issue that persists to date.

Is the current status of Widevine for Firefox on MacOS BROKEN?

There are no roll backs that seem to work, and I can't find anyone else with my MacOS and Firefox versions that are reporting the same problem. Streaming is not only the way of the future, it has been the standard for media viewing for over 5 YEARS. Firefox needs to figure how to make widevine work from the get go or it will quickly go the way of the dinosaur.

I don't WANT to use Chrome (thought I currently do for Netflix), please don't suggest that as a solution.
