Deleting emails from "All Mail"
Does deleting emails in "All Mail" also delete those same emails that were previously moved from Inbox to a Folder?

Since update to version 145.0 I cannot send messages, when sending I get this message "Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: <*******@shaw.ca> sender rejected AUP#POL. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again". Nothing has changed with account settings. Same problem on another machine that updated to 145.0. Any ideas what is broken?

I have tried using the troubleshooting guide suggestions without success. The email is not on the server as verified by webmail, but still resides in my local inbox. Can I manually access the database offline and delete this email? I have two other gmail accounts that are part of my Thunderbird email client version 140.5.0esr (32-bit).

I am using Thunderbird 115.5.2 (64-bit) on an older iMac on OS 10.12. I have four email address accounts, all gmail, and using POP. I have stored emails I wanted to keep in sub folders in Local Folders. This has all worked well for years.
Yesterday I lost lost all content from some of the subfolders in Local Folders, while some retained some content and a few seem intact. I also lost most emails that had arrived in the inboxes in the last week. The folder pane still shows the accounts, with their own set of folders. As usual, the inbox folders are highlighted with the number of new emails downloaded from the Gmail server to each address, but I can not see them in the message pane, or find them anywhere else. I sent a test message from one of my addresses to another – It didn't show as sent in Thunderbird, but did go through the gmail server and the message count of downloaded messages on the recipient address went up by one, but I couldn't see the email. Then I tried clicking on the folder "properties" then 'Repair Folder' but nothing happened, although the information on that window showed the number of messages and MB that I would expect to be in that folder, rather than what was there, which presumably means they may still be in there somewhere? I would be very grateful for help – I'm not tech savvy and feeling completely lost.
tell me to get working again to delete emails i put in the drafts ?

When attempting to add a verizon.net email to thunderbird I ave filled out he boxes for name, email address, and password. The program auto fills settings. When I select "done" it opens a aol sign in window with my email address already filled in. when I select "next" ( to type my password), I get a message (in red) that says "please enable cookies in browser and sign in again". I then have to press my ecsape key to return to the account setup screen, That screen displays a message "unable to log in at server probably wrong configuration, username, or password" I have tried the setup with my regular password and a aol generated app password wit the same result, I also change my Firefox (my default browser) security settings to "custom" and enabled all cookies and got the same result. I am able to access my email account thru the AOL site and my iphone.

I'm using Thunderbird with my GMail account. I've added all the GMail folders and can access them without any problems. However, I'd like to add a new folder. Is it possible to do that in Thunderbird or do I have to log into my GMail and do it there? I'm using Thunderbird 145.0 on Windows 10 Pro 64 bit.

Hi!
I have recently installed Thunderbird (version 145.0 (64-bit) on my PC (I have Windows 10) and have configured my IMAP account without any real issues.
Except from one thing:
Among my email folders (rather much in the bottom of the folder structure) I see a bunch of "weak" folders (see attached image) – with the name in a greyish tone rather than the normal black. None of them contains any emails (in other words empty), but they seem to be copies of random existing folders as well as previously deleted folders. They all have the same prefix – ”INBOX”
When I right click on them I can delete them, but as soon as I restart Thunderbird (and/or the computer) they reappear.
I have already tried the following: 1. Going to Settings -->Account Settings --> Server settings and ticking the box Clean the Inbox at closing. That didn’t solve the problem either. 2. Right click on them and going to Properties and tried Repair folder. Nothing happens. (I might not have the right terms/vocabulation since I have the Swedish version of Thunderbird.)
My questions regarding this matter:
1. Why do these folders appear in the first place? 2. Is there a way to get rid of them?
Thanks in advance.

I have read what is posted on adding a folder in Thunderbird.
The problem I am experiencing is that when I select the main account and add a folder it keeps placing the folder as a sub folder of the in box not a folder or sub-folder of itself.
I am perplexed.
Thank you for your help!

Hi, I use Firefox and would like to migrate over from Gmail to Thunderbird. I'm getting fedd up with Google trying to overpower me with everything.
Q1, if I download and install T/Bird will it run my gmail and icloud emails
Q2, will I have to e mail everyone to say not to use Gmail, they must now address me at T/Bird?
Q3, How easy is it to empower T/Bird to control my 2 mail accounts?
Cheers,
Colin
See the above question. It should be simple but i am missing a trick here!

I am using Thunderbird across multiple devices. Generally this works well, but I recently created a new sub-folder in my Inbox whilst on my Thunderbird Android account (v13.0) and moved a number of messages into it. That sub-folder is missing when I return home and open my desktop installation (140.5.0esr 64-bit). At home I am running Windows 11 Pro v25H2.
Is there something obvious I can do to bring this sub-folder and its contents into my desktop Thunderbird set-up?
I tried adding the sub-folder manually on my desktop Thunderbird installation but the folder would not appear.
Help appreciated.

I have several accounts in Thunderbird. I have never (intentionally) used the archive option. Yet, one of my accounts now has an Archive folder that I cannot delete. No option exists when right clicking the folder and I cannot drag it to the trash. It has no emails in it, and never has. Its possible its been there a while and I just didn't notice, bu AFAIK its new.
I have gone to Account Settings Copies & Folders...and the "Keep Message Archives in:" is unchecked. Further, I checked all accounts to see if one of those might be 'checked'...just with a folder specified in a different (wrong) account. Not it.
I've restarted. I'm at a loss as to how to clean this up.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thunderbird 144.01...that I upgraded to 145.0 when checking the version to report here. No change.
