These are technically two separate issues, but both pertain to functionality of the mouse and keyboard. Whenever I right click to bring up the menu, the options (despite being functional) do not appear in the menu proper. Instead there are just empty buttons. In addition, certain hotkeys aren't working at all. Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V to copy paste are doing fine, but Ctrl-T and Ctrl-W to open and close tabs respectively do nothing. Neither of these issues were happening yesterday.

Why are some emails unreadable when the dark theme is enabled, but completely legible when the light theme is enabled? 1st picture is the email with the dark theme enabled, 2nd picture is the same email with the light theme enabled.

I have a web-camera which send a picture to me every 15 minutes. When you start the computer all the new emails are downloaded to Thunderbird. All emails get the same hh:mm and are sorted (I think!) in the order they were downloaded, i.e. the first one is on top and the last one at the bottom of the list.

What I would like is to order them by the subject when time of download is the same. In my emails subject I have date and time which would get them in the correct order.

I would by this get the newest first and the oldest last despite the fact that they are downloaded oldest first och newest last.

Would this be possible for you to do?

I'm just learning how to use TB. I am looking at my "sent" box, in table view. The messages are, sort of, in date order but it's all a bit jumbled. I've clicked the arrow at the top of the list of messages but all this does is to reverse the jumble! I've tried switching to card view and back but it doesn't solve the issue.

Can anyone help, please?

I have version 145.0 of TB and my OS is Windows 11 version 25H2.

My Thunderbird has behaved very well for a decade or more. No issues and still the same. My question relates to the delete function. When I press delete I get a warning of a delete email with a chance to go back. I changed this to see what happens and now I cannot find how to return to second chance as this works best for me. Possibly simple but how? regards Replytree

I'm using a Windows 11 laptop with a 14" laptop with a 1920 x 1200 resolution. I'm using Thunderbird to access 5 email accounts, calendars and cardBook. I'm looking for suggestions and tips about the best layout to maximise the display of my email information with the minimum of scrolling.

Running Linux Mint 22.2 Cinnamon and it has just updated Thunderbird to V140.5.0esr. Reopening TB all my carefully crafted layout has disappeared. I can only see one account with favourite folders underneath. I can't see the Sent Mail folders or the Personal folders which I rely on heavily, nor any of the other accounts. This has totally messed up my day.

I have the Folder Page View Switcher in, that was working after the upgrade but I innocently changed a setting on it, and it disappeared. I cannot find anything to bring it back.

Can I revert to a last good set up?

Please help.

I uncheckd the checked box labled "check spelling as you type" to disable it and it's still showing spellcheck. It's gettingin the way of me typing and being able to spell on my own. It's extremely annoying that I can turn off a featire and the progra will just ingore that I've turened it off. Why is this an actualy problem? why doesn't this button just work? I want it OFF... Please.

In the past, when I had replies on emails I sent, they always came back as a separate email even though the subject line was the same (since it's a reply). This was with my old email server that was a POP3 setup. Anyway, when I created a POP3 Gmail account, now I noticed that the emails that are a reply get stacked like subdirectories in your filing system. That is, my original message is the first tab, then each subsequent reply is in a new tab so I could have 5 or more stacked tabs. The problem I have is that even though the latest reply might be the newest in date, when I'm in the main email menu showing all the emails I've received, this particular email is at the top of the list because the latest reply is the newest email, however the original date stamp is showing when I created that email rather than the date stamp of the newest reply.

Is there a way in the settings or something to have each reply as a separate email like I did with my old server? Or is this some kind of quirk because of the way Gmail does POP3? The reason I opted for POP3 is because I wanted the emails stored locally on my PC and I could delete all emails from the Gmail server rather than using the synchronizing method of IMAP where all my PCs would have the same emails (using POP3 I could have different emails stored on each PC as I could delete some on one PC while having them exist on another one). I am experiencing an issue on my Samsung J5 running Android 5. When I try to set Firefox as the default browser, I am redirected to an information page. While helpful, it does not mention that Firefox cannot be set as the default browser on Android versions below 8.

It would be clearer if this limitation were explicitly stated on that page.

I want each email I receive on a separate line in my inbox. Currently emails from the same address are being kept in the same location in the inbox. I have tried to uncheck threading but this does not help. This behavior results in my not seeing a new email from the same address as the previous ones which are still in my inbox.

I have a lot (96, to be exact) of filters set up to send most emails to a particular folder. I recently had to change the name of my incoming IMAP server, and now all of my filters don't work. I get an error message when an email comes in that should be handled by a filter, the email is left in my Inbox, and that filter is set to Disabled. I then have to edit it and re-select the destination folder and re-enable it. What's going on here? Is there a way to fix this, short of manually editing each of the 96 filters?

I don't see this addressed recently and the fixes from previous versions don't work. Using Thunderbird 140.5.0esr (64-bit) on Mac OS Monterey 12.7.6. Since T-bird updated I have not been able to change font colors or highlight font any outgoing email and I can't see colors in my incoming emails. I can copy and paste incoming emails into a word document and the color formatting shows up. If I write an email in a word document, change the color then copy and paste this into an outgoing email it reverts to black font. I can change bold/italic/underline.

I disabled my two extensions and tried again - no change either sending or viewing received colors

Under Settings > Composition > HTML Style "Use reader’s default colors" is checked and under > Sending Style "Both HTML and Plain Text" are checked

I'm missing something here but can't figure it out!

I have a bunch of e-mail addresses in Unified folders, all of which are my own except one, which is for a relative on whose behalf I do a lot of things. I'd like to have that account show up completely separate from the Unified folders. Let's call that account X, for brevity.

I've favourited X's Inbox and Sent items, so I can show them outside Unified folders. So far so good.

In the Unified folders Inbox Properties, folders to search chooser, I unchecked X's Inbox and all its other folders.

This is almost what I want, except that X's account, with all its folders still all show up in Unified folders. I'd like to move them as well.

Is this possible?

This has just started to happen today. Each message I receive has the Message ID in the message pane header box underneath the date. Please explain why this is and can I stop this happening?

Hi! Downloaded Thunderbird on a newdesktop computer, also had it on my old desktop computer, I used to read the emails underneath the email title.

Now it comes on the right side of the screen, i dont manage to change it myself.
