I have two installations of Thunderbird on two different computers 2 different locations, both are new installations. Both are on Windows 11. The one at home, works perfect, the one in my second home too except the unified toolbar is unresponsive, whatever I click there it doesn't respond, The X doesn't close the program, the - doesn't minimize anything, just nothing happens, any advise?

I was cleaning up my Inbox when I looked at the "Important" folder. I read in a number of places that this is a "Gmail" thing, and messages get in this folder apart from any action etc on my part.

I have a couple questions.

FIRST, are the emails in the "Important" folder only in that folder or are copies in there? I deleted a number of 2 to 3 year old emails that I do not consider important today. The closer I get to this year [2025], the more careful I get.

SECOND, how can the auto-population of that folder be stopped and the folder be deleted? I keep my important emails in designated folders so I can find them.

Ever since Version 146 was automatically downloaded, all I see is a blank page and several icons across the top representing individual mail. (See pic attached. Before 146, I saw all my mail listed.) The program freezes; I can't click on any icons. Most of the time I am just waiting for something to load. I have to fight to get my folders to even see my mail. How do I get Version 145 back?

Amazon just sent me an email an animated GIF at the top of it. As a result, whenever it's in the preview pane, it's constantly swapping colors and making a visual nuisance of itself. All morning, it's been blinking at me. Is there any way to shut off animations in the preview pane? I almost never want to see an animated gif in an email, but I definitely never want it dancing around in the preview pane.

I was confused that apparently "All mail" is now forced to be "Archives", this has happened to both of my email accounts that I use with Thunderbird. Renaming also seems to be blocked. Is there a good reason for this? I find it confusing.

After latest update two of my folders no longer have their right names. They where called "DJ LEO" and "Søndre Hamre" as their data files. No they are both callen "Sendt" (norwegian for "Send") and can't be renamed. Content and data files are still right. Why is this hapening. What do I do?

Recently moved to Linux Mint with Thunderbird 140.5. It's a new experience. Thunderbird has downloaded all my emails and folders from my Outlook.com account. Can send, receive, edit emails no problems and all is visible from Outlook client on other machines. Thunderbird does not show my calendar entries or contacts. I do not wish to import from Outlook as I would like to access my Outlook.com from several locations. Been through online Help articles. Nothing seems to work. Have installed TbSync and Lightning Calendar Tabs add-ons with default settings. I have tried suggestions provided in this Mozilla Support. Other forum suggestions don't seem to relate to the version I have.

I'm sure it is something simple as everything else I have done with my new environment is working wonderfully. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I can not leave my emails on my email server because I keep corrupting the database because I have to many emails and then I'm unable to check emails. Before I donate and delete my emails off my email server, please confirm this will not delete my emails that I have downloaded to Thunderbird. Thank you in advance, Rose.

today Thunderbird doesnt send nor discharge emails from gmail. I've seen that yesterday (december 10) it was an update. I dont know it the problem it's related or not, but the program doesnt work, it seems that it tries to connect with server but it cant. If I send an email from Gmail page it works.

Been getting a bunch of this, usually in my TB TRASH folder, I think from the Outlook online server.

The server couldn't retrieve the following message:

Subject: "Stephen Tanner"

From: "Not available" ("Not available")

Sent date: 10/31/2024 2:25:02 PM

The message hasn't been deleted. You might be able to view it using either Outlook or Outlook Web App. You can also contact the sender to find out what the message says.

What does this mean? Outlook or Thunderbird? What do I need to do?

Since today (Version 146.0 Windows11 64bit) all subfolders, which are configured to send emails from (e.g. name+test@example.com for folder test) are renamend to the german word "Gesendet" for Sent. You can see that in the second screenshot. In the first screenshot you can see the name "Gesendet" which is locked against changes and the normal name of the folder is support in this case. I don't know, what has changed to yesterday. And as I'm using this feature intensivly, the "Gesendet" over all folders is quite annoying.

After a major windows upgrade crash on a brand new laptop turned in into a brick, Thunderbird was installed at the time and all of my email accounts were working fine. I contacted PCs support team and they agreed to replace it with a new one. All Windows and other relevant updates were done before anything else. Then I started the process of installing the program's that I wanted to use. When I came Thunderbird it installed okay, I added 2 of my email accounts and they work fine. Then I tried to add my Gmail account got through adding server settings then I am asked log in to my Google account where upon I am met with a pop up window with a broken robot an error code 400 and message This should not be repeated, Am I doing something wrong or is there a glitch with Thunderbird. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Brian

Hello, For the past few days, I've been receiving three messages. My email provider (free.fr) tells me the problem isn't on their end and suggests I contact Thunderbird. Can you help me resolve this?

New messages received by an email account are scattered at random in the inbox instead of being at the top of the list. How can I ensure that the inbox has new messages at the top?

your layout is fine when I first open the program but when an email is selected to be read, the left email folder list disappears and is very difficult to get back up. there must be an easy setup fix to this or else I am about to uninstall Thunderbird! And your service stinks like all the rest of BIG tech these days. Truth is you have now Customer Service.
