Thunderbird upgraded itself to version 140.2.0esr (64-bit). I also got a new browser tab for Thunderbird 140 Eclipse. However, now Thunderbird will not receive any new emails. I can see that they're out there via my mobile phone. I don't get any kind of message when I try to receive emails. It's as if it's totally ignoring my request. I have two email addresses - it will not work for either.

Additionally, I am able to send emails out to a gmail address. So the only issue seems to be receiving emails.

Specs: - I have a Windows 11 laptop. - I'm using POP3 (I know, my friends are giving me crap. But I want to keep my emails on my laptop, not on the server. I'm old school that way.).

I've tried requesting emails the following ways: - Hit F5 - Click on File | Get New Messages for | All accounts - Click on File | Get New Messages for | Current account - Click on File | Get New Messages for | <choose the individual account>

I've tried the following to resolve the issue, without success: - I saw online where someone mentioned a bug with the new version. They suggested creating a default account. I already had a default account, but changed it in hopes that it would help. However, it didn't. - I deleted the global-messages-db.sqlite file to try to rebuild the profile (this was also suggested online). The rebuild was successful, but I still could not receive emails.

Can you help me? Thanks very much!

After changing my settings for incoming and outgoing mail servers, Thunderbird still times out. Also, I changed the yahoo server settings to imap but the server type shows as POP. Is that causing the time out problem. Here are my current settings: Yahoo Server Type: POP Mail Server Server Name: imap.mail.yahoo.com Port 993 Username: dragracers@cox.net Connection security: SSL/TLS Authentication method: OAuth2 DOES NOT ask for account or anything else.

Description: Yahoo Outgoing server: smpt.mail.yahoo.com Port: 465 Security and Authentification: Connection security SSL/TLS Authentication method: OAuth2 User name: dragracers@cox.net Does not connect with a time out approx. 30 seconds later.

Great, so I fix one problem, only to be confronted with a shiny brand NEW problem.

Version 141.0

Fixed the "T-bird lockup" when composing emails, so that's no longer an issue - - YAY.

Now, Tbird refuses to save drafts. I had it set to every minute while I was having issues with lockups; now, I'm seeing a "can't save draft' popup every minute. I mean really... I haven't changed ONE thing in the machine other than changing that "0" to a "1" in "about:settings." Is there something about that particular fix that could cause this "save no drafts" issue?

Don't have a clue where to even begin, since it cites either network issues OR file-access issues, and I fail to see why either would suddenly be an issue where it wasn't prior to fixing the lockups.

Anyone have any pointers where to start looking? I keep seeing reference to Tbird "logs," but have no idea where to find those. Seems a reasonable place to start (after all, it's the first thing I look at when my 3D printer goes nuts!)

The app has been running like a champ, monitoring 4 email accounts. Starting last night, one of my email accounts no longer works. It won't receive incoming email, even after clicking the refresh button, or send email. The other accounts are fine. When using my desktop app, everything works, so it's isolated to the one account on the mobile app. What could have happened to break this? How do i get this working again? Running version 10.1

I'm trying to set up Thunderbird on my new Windows 11 computer. Every time I try to setup outlook.com I a get a message saying "Authentication failed. Please check the username and password" The version of Thunderbird I'm using is 144.0.1. I even went to outlook.com on line and changed to a new password and it still will not work. All my other email accounts are working perfectly.

Outlook works perfectly on my old windows 10 computer, but it will not work on this one.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am having an issue with retrieving my email in Thunderbird. On laptop, using Version 140.2.0esr | Released August 19, 2025. No changes were made to Thunderbird settings. The email is showing up in the Comcast portal, but for now having it forwared to a Gmail account. Tried changing password in Comcast (and in Thuderbird) to no effect. Tried deleting my Comcast email account in Thunderbird and re-adding it, but no change. Can send out email fine, just receiving it is the issue.

Interestingly, I use BlueMail on my phone and it, too, has the same issue and will not retrieve from Comcast. Thanks in advance!

Just now, three messages were bounced from my Thunderbird inbox. The error message given was: A message was sent to you that was returned to the sender(bounced) because it would have caused your mailbox quota to be exceeded.

The following is the reason that the message was over quota:

Quota Type: bytes in the mailbox
 Quota Available: 894.2KB
     Total Quota: 5000000.0KB

There's very little in my Inbox, but there was a lot in trash and a bunch of sub-folders I didn't need anymore, so I deleted just about everything. The little indicator at the bottom right of the screen was still red, indicating excessive messages, so I closed Thunderbird and reopened it. The red indicator is still lit up like a Christmas tree, even though I've deleted hundreds of emails from all folders, but I resent the messages (these were between my Spectrum account and my Gmail account), and they still bounced. I then rewrote the emails, reducing the number/size of attachments, but they again bounced. Other emails from outside senders are coming through just fine. I also receive my gmail account via Thunderbird and it's behaving perfectly. It's just my Spectrum email account that's acting up, although as I said, email from outside senders are coming through without a problem.

I'm doing this on my desktop, Windows 10, current Thunderbird version. I didn't go to webmail to delete any of this. I don't understand why the indicator says I'm at 99% of my quota after so many deletions.

Any and all suggestions cheerfully received!!
