Hi. I'm having problems with reinstating my profile files after inadvertently letting a software update programme update Thunderbird, leaving me with a blank Thunderbird, i.e no accounts etc. I've tried copying the Profile folder from a backup of 2-3 days ago, but it insists on loading a different profile to the one i want (gasu8cec-default-release). How do I make it load the profile I want?

I am constantly being asked to update Thunderbird to version 131. However, once it's installed, I'm notified that it is not a stable version and it is only for testing purposes. As a consequence, several of my pluggins do not work. (I had to go back to the latest stable version, and create all accounts from scratch; but I keep being asked to update to 131).

I cannot find how to set Thunderbird to only update to stable versions. Any help?

Hi, thanks for considering my problem, I'm not as sharp as I used to be and can't quite think these things through anymore. Here's the situation: I installed TB on a portable ssd and use it on two different Windows 11 computers. I would click on the TB shortcut and a window would open asking me to pick a profile. I would pick my profile and see all of my emails. Worked well that way for several months. This morning I opened TB, picked my profile and it went straight to the account setup screen. I shut it down and tried it on the other computer and got the same thing. I can see my profile still on the portable drive and the pointer in the profiles.ini file in %appdata% area on each computer still points to it. How can I fix this so I can see my emails again?

I'm not sure if I'm using the correct Topic for this question. Basically I didn't do a proper backup of my original Thunderbird . My PC crashed and I had to reinstall Thunderbird from scratch. When I had a look at my "backup" all I could find were the MSF Files.

My question is. How do I transfer these MSF files into my new Thunderbird installation?

Ever since a few weeks ago, some of my add-ons as well as every new add-on I added after that are unavailable at the start of Firefox. I then have to click into the application menu, click on the warning message for that add-on and enable it again. Since this is quite tedious and frustrating, I tried looking online for any info. I tried updating everything, disabling and enabling manually and removed and re-added some if the add-ons that cause issues.

I am loath to set up a fresh profile or reset all add-ons as that would cost a lot of time to configure everything again. In hopes of a solution that avoids that I am asking here now.

I have an issue with the Add-On Cardbook in it's latest version (97.7) as well with last version I knew that worked with Thunderbird 128.5 which was 94.4 of Cardbook.

Upgraded to Thunderbird 128.5.1 the latest version of Cardbook can't migrate all my contacts. With the lower version in use it can't synchronize my Google-Account-Contacts within 5 Minutes. Indeed it took several hours to synchronize and show 21 of 113 contacts.

This happened before when I tried to update Cardbook, but then was it able to synchronize with Google within less than a minute.

So, today I get an email from Mozilla talking about a advances/upgrades to Thunderbird. The email went to a video link... so I watched that...

Is there a "new" Thunderbird App???

If yes, Can I just upgrade from my existing version 128.9.2esr... to the new Thunderbird?? Or, do I need to download a brand new Thunderbird app and install???

What about K-9 Mail?? Do I update the existing K(-Mail app to the new Thunderbird android App??? Or is this a new install???

Please help me understand what is going on with Mozilla and Thunderbird...

PS: Has Thunderbird been fixed so that I can access microsoft-email? I realize that microsoft is making it difficult to access email using 3rd party email clients... What is the status on this??

Long time thunderbird user but kinda at my wits end. I'm moving to a new laptop and I have noted that the export function does not like profiles larger than 2Gb. Mine is approx 10.5Gb. I followed what seems to be the suggested protocol

- install on new machine, don't create any account, close thunderbird - erase the profile folder and the profile.ini in the new install (I guess this is optional really) - close thunderbird on old machine - copy the protocol and .ini files from old machine to the new one. (there is only 1 file: 1rrz6vdm.default which

     seems odd maybe?) 

- crank up the new thunderbird

Well, I get something, but basically it is a pale ghost of what is there in my old machine. Have tried dozens of variants on this process with no love.

I'm an IT support professional and in our environment we are still running few servers (for multiple reasons) with OS version Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard and Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter and they have currently Mozilla Firefox ESR (x64 en-US) 115.15.0 installed. I couldn't find any clear answer, hence I've created this ticket - is Mozilla Firefox ESR 115.16.0 supported on this OS ? - usually you are not referring to Microsoft Windows Server in you release notes info - f.ex. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/115.16.1/system-requirements/ so I need clear answer. Also I cannot download Mozilla Firefox 115.16.1 from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/115.16.1/releasenotes/ - if I click download it always downloads Mozilla Firefox 128 instead. So please let me know if there is any Mozilla supported version for Microsoft Windows Server 2012. Best Regards, Milosz Wrzalek
