I am unable to send tabs from my desktop devices to Firefox on my Android device.

- All devices are logged into Firefox Sync. - Sending tabs from Android to desktop works fine. - Attempting to send a tab from desktop to Android, nothing happens. Have tried with multiple different tabs from multiple desktop devices, it never makes it to my Android device. - Synced tabs works fine. I can see the open tabs on all my devices from all my other devices, and it stays up to date. - Have tried logging out of sync and logging back in. Didn't fix the issue.

Desktop devices are running Firefox v146.0.1 on Windows Android device is running v146.0.1 on Android 16 (Pixel 8 Pro)

I have tried to solve this problem by using AI,but I have followed the steps given by Deepseek, I have made sure my device are support HEVC and AVC hardware decoding (Snapdragon 870), I also tried to switch my UA to Safari 18, MacOS X, it couldn't help either,but I do the same steps on Edge Canary it works. It bothered me a lot,every time I switched the quality options to 8k,the video playback becomes very According to edge://gpu, I'm very sure 8k video hardware decoding is available on my device. I have some websites that require pop-ups. I cannot get them to work in Firefox on my Android phone. Google searches reference a setting under "privacy and security" where I should be able to allow pop-ups in general or for certain URLs only, but I don't have that setting option.

I have Firefox version 139.4 if that helps.

When will Gecko-based Firefox Android increase the number of default search engines in 2025?

Currently it hosts only Big Tech namely Google and Microsoft Bing and DuckDuckGo, which is Bing and MSN results in DuckDuckGo and Qwant (same Bing results) latter which works only in the UK.

I'm using Gecko-based browsers like Fenix and Mull and Iceraven, and they all come with like 5 to 10 search engine options.

Adding new search engines is a mess and doesn't sync with Firefox account settings, so futile efforts.

Even Chrome allows us to select our search engine, if we are visiting it too much.

Is Firefox really privacy based browser or just Big Tech in Firefox like Google as default search engine out of the box, no asking which the XYZ user wants?

Ever since the Fennec F-Droid 142 update, Fennec has trouble loading pages properly, even when you currently have Internet access. This happens when you try to access any page directly from the home page and from the status bar from within the app, and the page tries to connect but completely stalls with loading as a result. This issue is not affected by the in-app mini browser view that pops up when tapping a link in another app to preview in Fennec or when you have any other app open that uses the Android System WebView (or in most cases, any WebKit based browser, as it doesn't have to be the Android System WebView most the time for this bug to go away!) for loading content, which in fact this strange bug in Fennec will go away as a result.

This issue is only addressed in Fennec F-Droid 142 and does not affect any other forks of Firefox or even the proper upstream versions of Firefox where this issue does not occur. This issue only occurs every time after restarting your Android device, in fact the one that I'm using is a Google Pixel 8 Pro.

I have also reported this issue directly to Google engineers so that they know what might be going on. Given that I'm on a beta version of Android 16 (QPR2 beta 1), this is to be expected. Thank you all so much as hopefully someone at Mozilla will have a small patch ready for when Fennec 143 goes into testing pretty soon!

Prior to the 6/16/25 release, hitting the back button on the three button control on a page with no previous pages would open the home page without closing the current tab. After the update, it closes the tab before opening the home page. This was useful for quickly opening multiple tabs, as well as preventing accidentaly closing a tab. Please revert this change, or make it a setting.

Hi, I want to disable the "Thought-provoking stories" shortcuts from the home / new tab page on Android.

Following the other forum posts and https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/hide-pocket-recommendations-firefox there should be a switch for "Thought-provoking stories" under Settings - Homepage - Shortcuts, but I don't see it. What can I do? Thank you for your help.

When I start speeding up video playback on YouTube, a clicking sound regularly appears, as if it’s a micro-stutter in the audio. I uninstalled and reinstalled the browser, and the issue persists even on a clean browser with no extensions. A similar issue also exists in the beta version of Firefox 136 and the nightly version 137, which I installed for testing without making any changes. To check, I installed Firefox 134 again, and the issue does not occur there. My phone, the Tecno Pova 6 Neo, is relatively powerful with an 8-core processor at 2.2 GHz and 8 GB of RAM. I had been using firefox as the standard browser for years, but since the DNS-over-HTTPS feature I have had trouble with protecting my family on the web via DNS filtering. Currently the only solution that has worked is to use a different browser (the Spin browser, for whoever is interested). I have Firefox blocked using the Android family link feature (and they can't install new apps without permission). Personally, I would love to move everyone back to Firefox, but I can't find a way to do it safely. Is there a way to effectively disable DNS-over-HTTPS such that it can't be changed (kids are pretty quick at figuring out that they can just go to the settings and figuring out that they can turn the feautre back on). A parental control feature would be ideal, so I can just set the DNS-over-HTTPS to use the family DNS filter in a way they can't turn it off. Does anyone have an helpful solution, or is Firefox dead for family protection?

Hello everyone, my name is Francesco and I have a big problem that I can't solve in any way! I just can’t seem to solve a synchronization issue between two Firefox 135.0.1 (64-bit) installations on a Laptop and a PC (both running Linux Mint 22) and a Firefox 135.0.1 (Build #2016074239) on Android. Can someone please help me? I'm desperate!

Let’s start from the beginning: For a very long time, every time I connected to the internet with Firefox on my Laptop or mobile, my bookmarks would get completely messed up: folders duplicated endlessly, some empty, others identical to the original ones. The same happened with the bookmarks themselves: separators almost all moved to the bottom and multiple duplicates of my countless bookmarks.

After several failed attempts following posts from other users who had the same or a similar problem, as well as some Firefox support how-tos, I decided to try a different approach, which was also described in a post.

First, after logging out of my account on all three devices, I backed up my bookmarks from my PC in different formats (.html, .json), and after closing Firefox, I also backed up the cookies.sqlite, favicons.sqlite, and places.sqlite files—just in case! Then, I deleted all folders and bookmarks from the other two devices.

I then spent the whole afternoon cleaning up my bookmarks on the PC: removing duplicates and redundant folders, organizing separators and bookmarks the way I wanted, and making new backups as mentioned above. After that, I logged into my account from my mobile, triggered a sync from there, then logged into the other devices and started the synchronization on them as well.

But it didn’t work. 😞

PC and Laptop synced beautifully, everything was perfect, but the mobile, despite showing that it was syncing, remained empty—and still is.

I tried several forced sync methods as suggested in some Firefox how-tos (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1482205 and https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-set-firefox-sync-firefox-android), and I also followed procedures from other posts where users had similar issues, but nothing worked.

I even tried different approaches: logging out and back in first with my PC, then with my mobile; replacing all bookmarks with the ones I had exported in good condition; checking if there was a new update on Google Play. But my mobile remains completely empty—no bookmarks at all.

So, after more than four hours of trial and error, I'm losing my mind 🤯, and I’m also getting seriously exhausted (it’s now 2 AM, and I’ve been up since 5 AM!).

Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this? A plugin? A folder on the mobile where I can manually place the saved files? Maybe a well-aimed hammer strike in a specific spot on the phone? Anything? At this point, even just a good joke might help me get through the frustration. 😜

Now, I just hope I can get some sleep—I’m so stressed that… 😭

I'm trying to sync data from my computer to my phone. When I go to the settings, there is NO "sync and save data " option on my phone. So, how then do I sync and save?

I'm a heavy bookmark user. I have numerous bookmark folders and numerous bookmarks within each folder. I love the way the desktop version (Firefox for Windows) allows for easy sort and save for bookmarks. I absolutely hate the way Firefox for Android handles bookmarks. There is no way to sort and no way to choose a default save folder.

Awhile back a change was made to Firefox for Android. Before the change, saving all new bookmarks automatically saved them in the root Bookmarks folder where they were easy to grab and reassign to a particular folder. After the change, bookmarks now get saved in the last folder used.

This causes problems with later finding bookmarks when they were saved in a folder that wasn't expected and is especially troublesome when you have numerous bookmark folders. For example, I had been saving bookmarks in the root Bookmarks folder. Every once in awhile I go through that folder and move bookmarks I want to keep into other folders. Whichever folder I last moved a bookmark to now becomes the default save folder. The next time I save a bookmark it goes to that last used folder. If I don't remember which folder it was, now I have to search. Or I have to remember and be fast enough to hit "Edit" on the small pop up window that shows up after saving a bookmark.

But it gets worse. I recently went through my bookmarks and moved several from the root bookmarks folder into other folders. I later saved a bookmark and had to go find it in one of the sub folders. After finding it, I moved it back to the root Bookmarks folder. Let's call it "Bookmark A". Fast forward several weeks where all subsequent bookmarks were saved in the root Bookmarks folder as I desired. I then went through all my bookmarks and deleted those I no longer needed. This time I didn't move any of them. BUT, the last bookmark I deleted was "Bookmark A". The next time I saved a bookmark, it did not get saved in the root Bookmarks folder as I expected. I had to go find it again in the same sub folder where "Bookmark A" was originally saved. Apparently, when I deleted "Bookmark A", Firefox for Android somehow remembered the next most recently used folder. I hate this so much!

Can we get a setting to define a certain folder as the default folder for future saved bookmarks?

I don't understand the reason for the change in the first place. But, if there are plenty of users who want bookmarks automatically saved in the last used folder, then give everyone a setting to either choose that method or a default saved bookmark location.

I'd also like to see a drag and drop method to sort bookmarks as well as settings to sort by name, date, etc.

I'm running the latest version of Firefox for Android on a Samsung S25.
