My house was hit by a lightning strike and it blew out my computer. It looks like both the drives in that computer are readable. So I am wondering how I can get all my email back into thunderbird. It was a pop account. All email was saved to computer. I'm using windows 10. I tried to just copy the old file at Users/Mike/AppData/Roaming but that didn't work. It didn't bring back all of the folders. Please let me know if there's anyway to rebuild all the folders and emails. Thanks in advance for your help. Mike

My laptop recently crashed and as a result of this I had to uninstall Thunderbird as when I tried to open it, it told me that another session was already open and I need to close the first one before I could reopen the application. However I was not able to view the opened session, nor close it, hence why I uninstalled Thunderbird and downloaded a new version. The new version has been successfully apart from I am not able to see my emails stored in the Local Folder. I have located these on my drive but not sure how to reconnect them, plus not all the folders are showing.
I have attached images as follows: 1. Shows Thunderbird view with server folders and emails and nothing in the Local folders 2. Shows my Server Message Storage directory 3. Local Folder Message storage directory 4. Profiles found on my PC - Under C:\Users\myname\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles there are 2 profiles 5. My real profile mail local folder view - This has my Local Folders in the Inbox.sbd but not all are shown as folders, others are File or MSF File. Filepath is C:\Users\myname\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\a6jo5zdd.default\Mail\Local Folders 6. Profile InBox data - 7. The other Profile Inbox data view which doesnt include any of my local folders and data
I have attached pcs and would appreciate any assistance to reinstate my Local Folders data so that I can see it. Thanks.

I'm a *long-time* TB user and have recently upgraded to 115.0 (BuildID: 20230711125218) on Linux (Kubuntu 22.04.2 LTS). I have multiple accounts configured to use the unified folders inbox. When in that unified inbox, if I delete an email, it stays in the message list instead of disappearing, although the focus changes (the message entry line was highlighted in blue background with white text, and is now in black text on a gray background). The message pane shows the next message as it should. If i click on the message list entry line for the deleted email, nothing happens in the message pane (it still shows the next email), although the focus does come back to the message list entry line. This does not appear to happen when I am in the inboxes of my individual email accounts, but only happens in the unified folder. When I return to the unified folder inbox from the individual account inbox, the deleted message is gone. Thanks for any help.

This morning, my Thunderbird email stopped working although it was working fine a few hours earlier. The following is the error message: "Sending of password for user lepitzki@telusplanet.net did not succeed. Mail server pop.gmail.com responded: [AUTH] Username and password not accepted." After trying to find a solution at telus.com, my internet provider, I finally spoke to a real person (after nearly an hour on hold) who informed me that the recent google gmail update now prohibits third party email services, such as Outlook or Thunderbird, from connecting to Telus gmail email. And, that there is no work around or solution and that a supervisor could not offer anything further. I have been using Thunderbird for telus email for decades, I weathered the storm when Telus email moved to using the gmail platform, and I have many, many folders and subfolders. The Thunderbird third party platform allows permanent offline archiving of emails, which I require for my work. Is Thunderbird aware of this major issue caused by an update via Google? Will there be a Thunderbird solution or workaround? Thanks for your consideration. Dr. Dwayne Lepitzki, Banff, Alberta, Canada

I run Thunderbird 102.13.0 (32 bit) on W10 Home. After Thunderbird updated late last week I have been having problems sending emails with my work Microsoft Outlook Office365 account (no such problems up to last Thursday 13 July) : Emails with just a couple of words in the body arrive but with nothing in the body. Emails with just a couple of words in the body and a text file attached arrive but with nothing in the body and without the attachment. Emails with just a couple of words in the body and a Excel file attached fail to send at all (error message). No such problems sending emails via the Office 365 web portal. I have Exquilla installed and its licence is current. Tried removing the Outlook account and re-installing it, but this made no difference. Temporarily disabling my ESET NOD32 AV software made no difference either. Tearing my hair out. Would anyone have any ideas on how to fix this ?

After reinstalling Thunderbird while trying to get OAuth2 working my saved messages since 2021 were missing. Plenty of directories with those old messsages. Found one with MBOX files with more recent dates and moved those to my new installation. That worked but they did not include all the subdirectories of the MBOX file folders.
Any likely place to find them?
(I've looked at old support threads here but can't find this particular solution even in the one labeled missing subfolders.)
Thanks.

Just was updated to Thunderbird Supernova. Now when I perform a search with the unified toolbar I get a list of results, but anytime I select one of the results a new tab is open with a Blank message.
I've re-indexed my emails as per : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/rebuilding-global-database but that hasn't helped.
Anyone else having this problem and found a solution? The only work around I have so far is to use the Ctrl-Shift-F which works, but is a little slower.
Thanks, Robert

I've changed my ISP's mail server password, and it's correct in Saved Logins, but I can't send mail because I need to change the SMTP password. My SMTP account is listed correctly, but it doesn't appear in the Saved Logins list. So I can't update its password. How can I get my SMTP account added to the Saved Logins list?
Thanks in advance for your work on this.

I set up thunderbird email account on my computer and my iphone. I can only send and not receive emails on my computer account and I can only receive and not send from my phone account. When I try to send emails from my phone the email bounces to my outbox where it sits and I get a message that says "Cannot Send Mail The sender address was invalid" I think something was off in the initial setup because this problem has persisted from the beginning however I cannot figure out how to fix it. Need help please so that email sends and receives from either location: computer or iphone.

I can receive email with TB, using v.102.13.0 (32 bit). I cannot send from TB as I get an "unable to login to charter.net" error every time. Doesn't matter if I try to send a message to myself or someone else.
I can go to the charter website and send emails from there and I can then receive any test message I send to myself on TB. Annoying, to say the least. I haven't changed anything in ages, though TB updates itself automatically by default.

Is anyone else having problems with Charter/Spectrum? I've rebooted the computer and the modem to no effect. I didn't bother rebooting the router. Charter tech services says since I am able to send and receive on their website, the issue lies with TB.

I have Thunderbird 68.12.1 on two PCs and when I open Thundberbird on each, it repeatedly asks me for passwords for all 6 of my IMAP email accounts, even though the passwords are correct. None of the email accounts will log in, so I cant send or receive emails on either of my PC's. It just started doing this this morning, and is happening on both PCs. I have been using the same version Thunderbird to access these accounts for many years without a problem before today.
The error message I am getting is: "Login to server imap.dotster.com with username xxxx@xxxx.com failed" with 3 options "Retry" "Enter New Password" or "Cancel"
I can access the same IMAP email accounts using the same passwords using Aquamail on my Galaxy Phone without a problem. So I know the issue is with Thunderbird logging into the email server, and not the passwords or email server.
Help would be greatly appreciated as I use my PCs to send receive emails more than my phone.

Hello,
I have a task where I need to send similar important mails to 50+ comapnies. The mail will ask for important information from these companies. Therefore It cannot look like a mass mail. These companies all have been in contact with us before and we are in process of buying something from them. This is not an attemt to spam or scam anyone.
How can I manage sendeing 50 or more similar mails to an excel list of mail adresses? (maybe even with a text adressing a certain person) How can i prevent ending up in the spam folder? I also do not want to send it as BC to everyone.
Is there a built in feature like this? Or is there a way to add emails from an excel sheet to the adress book and then send to everyone in the adress book?
Regards

My account was set up maybe 10 years ago, which I presume was before authenticators and password managers were used in the app. With a recent PC switch I have forgotten the password. I've looked everywhere for an easier way to contact you through e-mail, chat or through calls but posting a thread and hoping you see my post looks to be the only way to reach your support. I can of course describe my inbox, saved messages, etc. I know my father went through the same process and actually went about calling you to get his thunderbird account fixed but this was a few years ago, so if anyone knows of a better way of contacting them other than this post I would appreciate the help.

I installed Thunderbird 115.0.1 on Windows 11. I configured it for two accounts. One was a custom domain managed by Google, the second an Outlook account with my Office365 subscription.
Both receive mail fine. Neither would send mail. Investigating further I found that Thunderbird never got a firewall exception. I added the exception and now the Google account sends and receives fine. Outlook will still not send.
I've removed and re-added the Outlook account a couple of times now. No joy. I have found a lot of conflicting information on SMTP server settings but currently have the queried (auto configured) smtp.office365.com server on port 587 with my account credentials for login, connection security of 'STARTTLS' and authentication method of 'normal password'.
I've tried a couple of other email clients and they work out of the box. Any help would be appreciated.

I have all my accounts set to send only text/plain messages. But in the message composer, an entire toolbar row (disabled until editor has focus) appears at the head. It should go away, not appear, be hidden.
What would you do if I formatted the message since the account setting is "always plain text?" Unknown.
Also, an entire toolbar line is devoted to presenting "Variables" and "Other" dropdowns. Just two buttons, both of which I will not use in my lifetime.
Removing these spurious items will make the UI more legible, less distracting, professional.
Thanks for the great products. Been using since v 1.0, along side Mosaic, Netscape, and FF.
