Seit einiger Zeit zeigen die Mails keine Bilder u.ä. an sondern ich muss immer erst auf einen Link - s.u. - klicken, um den Inhalt vollständig lesen zu können. Woran liegt das und wie lässt sich das ändern?

Ich habe Thunderbird als Standard-App für E-Mail eingestellt und Gmail dafür abgewählt. Doch wenn ich einen E-Mail-Link klicke, sprich tippe, gibt es entweder gar keine Reaktion oder Gmail will den Link öffnen. "Rechtsklick", sprich langes Tippen funktioniert. --

I have toggled thunderbird as standard and gmail off. But either there is no reaction at all, if I click an email link, or gmail wants to open it.

Firefox added a Windows SSO check-box to its security and privacy settings and UI.

It corresponds to the "network.http.window-sso.enabled" prefs. My org now requires this to allow sign-in in, including for emails, so Thunderbird is affected. Any plan to support this prefs? I wpould be fine editing my prefs.js file in muy profile if no UI is provided. As of now, Thunderbird no longer is compatible with this org requirements.

There is a folder in my Downloads folder ('~/Downloads') called 'thunderbird.tmp' Whenever I delete it it reappears whenever I open Thunderbird. How do I relocate this because I like to keep my Downloads folder neat? I have not found an option for this anywhere in settings on the app.

Any chance of adding a dedicated notes tab?

There are times I need to jot down ideas on an email, or quickly need to have data available readily.

DON'T want to have to open another application JUST to take down info.

When I launch Thunderbird, a window opens on yahoo.com. even though I didn't ask for anything.McAfee and Defender do not detect any viruses thanks for your help

When trying to set Firefox to open a file on Windows 11, it is overwritten by Firefox Nightly. I have both branches installed.

This is how it goes when attempting to set Firefox as a default application in my machine:

1. "Apps > Default Apps"
2. .mp4 (for example)
3. click the button below that displays the current default application
4. Firefox Nightly appears in this menu
5. "Choose an app on your PC"
6. "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox" ... "firefox.exe" ... "Open"
7. Firefox Nightly remains in this menu

I cannot get Firefox to appear as an available app in this menu. The only workaround, although inconvenient, is to drag and drop files straight into Firefox.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Ich benutze Thunderbird gewühnlich in Deutschland und bin jetzt in Chile (+4 Stunden). Das Notebook zeigt die chilenische Zeit an (CLT), die Nachrichten werden aber mit UTC, also +3 Stunden, gespeichert und angezeigt. Wie kann ich die Zeiten der Bearbeitung und Speicherung in CLT (wahlweise in MEZ, deutsche Zeit) speichern.

In Thunderbird, I am trying to create an email filter, however, the screen/window display will not show the "OK" button to allow the filter creation to be saved for usage. After several hours, I have tried all the resolution changes, "resizing" the screen/window, "window" stacking, cascading etc, - nothing works to lengthen the screen to show the "OK button. I have other filters created previously, that work, but editing with changes have the same display issue. (HP Pavilion laptop-Windows10, i7) It appears that the bottom of screen is in a fixed position -see screenshot.

Hello, when i put a message in the garbage can, thundirbird open immediately a new message. sometimes i think that the new message is the old one and i put it in the can without reading it... So, i would like that thundirbird does not open a new message when i put one in the garbage can, i want it open a message only if i clic on it manually, not automatically. Is it possible in the settings ( i have not found)

As soon as I click on the Thunderbird Icon to start Thunderbird I get a Yahoo Page covering over my Thunderbird page with no practical way to remove the Yahoo page permanently? This is like a scam page or something from a devious hacker?

Using Acronis True Image for Western Digital (ver 2025 build 41936) to backup my files on a daily basis. Recently the backup program has been stopping and reporting that it cannot access some Thunderbird files, even when Thunderbird was not running (1st image) I tried 'Compacting all Folders' in Thunderbird but the result was the same (2nd image). Lastly, I tried clearing the cache - the result is the same. In all cases Thunderbird was not running during the backup.

i realize that this is not a Thunderbird issue, but I've been unable to get help elsewhere. I wondered if anyone might have a solution since Acronis apparently sees the file as being accessed - is there a way to remove that?

When I tap a text box to type on some webpages, the page automatically zooms in, making me have to manually zoom out again. I understand why this might be helpful to some people, but I just find it frustrating. Is there a way to disable it? I don't see anything in the accessibility settings and I've tried making my font size bigger, but that didn't work.

on my desktop computer when i click on a message thete is another window to the right of the message withe the opened up message. I can't get this to happen on my laptop computer.

Good morning; while trying to configure Thunderbird, I accidentally disabled the shortcut buttons I always use. Unfortunately, I can't find the location in the settings where I can re-enable them. I've attached a screenshot. I'd appreciate your help and pointing me to the right place. Regards.

My folders used to show a yellow diamond when there was new email in the folder. The folder colour does still change to blue to indicate unread email. When I open a folder, the yellow diamond still shows up on new email, as well as the unread flag. What have I done? How do I configure Thunderbird to show that yellow diamond on folders with new email?
