When I do "save as " action for an image in the browser it opens dialogue window to save selected image. Unfortunately it displays files and folders in some random order, rather than my preferred order (sorted alphabetically by name, followed by sorting by type).

I can see no rhyme or reason to the way Firefox lists files and folders in the dialogue window, so every time I am saving an image I have to sort things by name and type before I can find what I want.

This is not permanent so I have to repeat this action every time I save an image.

How do I, please set application preferences? to make this setting permanent?

I have contacted Microsoft. After testing the link/page loads in Edge, Chome (with and without addins same in ff) and Brave. But does not load in FF (with addon's disabled) nor in Private browsing FF (no addins obviously) they said to reach out to FireFox for support. I tried in edge (regular, not private) and it plays the stupid slideshow with music just fine, and I can get out of it and view the regular memory page that I want (Music really!? I only want the VPN on my desktop computer not on my phone I donot use my phone for internet just my computer and laptop now tried to signup for a subscription but it wants my phone sorry no phone computers only ?? now how to do it on my computer ?? While using an opened tab which I want to keep in place, I find it frustrating that if I want to click on one of my bookmarks in my toolbar, it uses the tab I am currently in which, of course disappears and is overridden with my selection of a bookmark. Is there a setting for me to change how my choosing of a bookmark reacts? I want it to open in a new tab and not on the one I am working with. I have looked everywhere and I cannot find a setting for this.

i switched the download folder to the "desktop",but still it saves whatever i download in the "default" folder of downloads....even when i checked that it actually in the settings says it was changed....im using Firefox142.0.1 (64-bit)

I can NO longer log into my BANK, I changed the security settings back to "standard" but I STILL CANNOT LOG INTO MY BANK. it's website acts as though I'm a new customer & want's me to open an account,I ALREADY HAVE AN ACCOUNT & HAVE HAD AN ACCOUNT AT THAT BANK FOR MANY YEARS! I have jumped through many "loops" at the bank trying to fix this mess, but they can't,FIREFOX IS NOW THE PROBLEM & someone needs to find out what they changed in their updates that has prevented me from logging into my BANK.

Hi, I'm using Firefox 142 on Ubuntu 24.04. It's a fresh install. I cannot sign in icloud.com with Firefox even though it works with other browsers like Brave. I deleted all cookies and site data and disabled extensions (KeePassXC). It doesn't help. I tried in new private window. No success. I copy my password from a password manager, so, no, I haven't mistyped it.

Here's what I do:

1. Open Firefox and go to icloud.com
2. Click on the "Sign In" button
3. Enter my Apple-ID and click on the arrow on the right end of the "Email or Phone Number" field

At this point Brave behaves differently than Firefox. See below for how Brave behaves.

Firefox: -> A "Password" field appears (no buttons "Continue with Password" and "Sign in with Passkey")

1. Enter my password and click on the arrow on the right end of the "Password" field

-> Error message "Failed to verify your identity. Try again" appears. See icloud.png

Brave: -> Two buttons "Continue with Password" and "Sign in with Passkey" appear. See icloud-with-brave.png

1. Click on button "Continue with Password"

-> A "Password" field appears.

1. Enter my password and click on the arrow on the right end of the "Password" field

-> 2FA code is sent to my iPhone -> "Two-Factor Authentication" form opens... etc. complete sign in successfully

Unfortunately I cannot attach the HAR file from the login sequence because the password is included. However, I attached some screenshots from the Web Developer Tools. It seems to me that the login flow with Firefox is broken. I can't tell who's to blame, Apple of Firefox. The error message with Firefox is always the same, no matter whether I enter the correct password or rubbish. In Brave, however, there is a more precise error message when I enter a bad password. I recently got a new machine and loaded it with Linux Mint 21.3 - Cinnamon, FF 142.0 and Bitwarden Version: 2025.8.2 along with the usual cadre of extensions that I use on every other machine I have.

When I first start Firefox, Bitwarden autofill suggestions does not work, autofill from the "Fill" button in Bitwarden does not work and returns an error. The only thing that works is to individually and manually copy the username, paste it, then copy the password and paste it.

If I log out of Reddit and then try to log back in, the autofill suggestions works and the "Fill" button also works.

This is only on Firefox and only on the fresh start of the app. This does not occur on Chrome and I have not tried (and don't want to try) it on Windows.

For a while now firefox has been unable to enter fullscreen when pressing F11. Instead all it does is move the "Scroll forwards", "Open a new tab", and "List all tabs" button over slightly (The buttons on the top right, next to the minimize and close buttons).

I don't know what's going on with firefox.

when I try to access the Gallery photos page on OneDrive, especially in the 'For you' section, I get a gray screen and nothing happens. When I check the console, it shows the issues I've captured in the screenshot. I tried this on Mac and Ubuntu with a fresh profile and a clear internet connection. Does anyone have an idea why this is happening? Firefox Version is the latest 142.0.1 No problem with Vivaldi, Chrome etc.

when I go to icloud.com to view and download photos and all my icloud stuff on my phone, I can no longer sign in using firefox. I turned off the shield security but no help. There used to be a pop-up that let you enter the code apple emailed you so you could access your icloud stuff on the web. Now there is no place to enter the code they send you. I enabled pop-ups too, but that didn't work. Help! I need my photos! And I use that site pretty much constantly-

I recently installed Win 11 on a new Acer Aspire (with MSI MAG244F monitor) but the issue seems to be present on my Acer Nitro 5 with built-in monitor as well.

I don't think it's an Acer issue but I am only running Win 11 on the two Acer machines. If I open a web page with colored graphics or pictures and then drop down a menu of the browser (bookmarks, etc.) the colors of the graphics bleed through. It's annoying and somewhat obstructive. It does not occur if a window from a different app is opened on top of the browser window no matter how bright the colors are.

I attached a few edited screenshots to show the issue. The edits are only to cover personal information etc.

The issue seems to be color saturation and does not occur on my other Win 10 machines or in other browsers. Not even the same version Firefox on the Win 10 machines.

Is there a way to increase the opacity of the drop downs or lower the color saturation in the Firefox browser?

I've yet to test on other sites and haven't found any solutions while looking it up, every 3d element is shown as a black box, I don't really have any other way to describe it

Over the years I have saved many bookmarks across several different devices. Therefore the bookmarks vary between devices. Is there any way that I can tidy up my bookmarks, deleting many of them, on my main machine and then have all the other devices Synch to that list only?

I have tried deleting ALL the bookmarks on the "subsidiary" devices and then synched them but that didn't work. I think I'm asking whether one device can be made the "master" for all the others to Synch to that one and none of the others.

Using Firefox--When I try to access the daily set of images that comes in an email representing memories for this day which is pulled from my Onedrive Photos, all I get is a dark blank screen with a subtle pulsing wave as if it is searching.

I get the same thing when I go directly to my OneDrive Photos and try to pull up the daily photos there.

However, changing browsers and using Google Chrome--I can view the images in the memory email as well as those on my OneDrive directly

What does Chrome do that Firefox is not?

I recently had another browser related issue on a different problem trying to register online with Directv which would not complete with Firefox but when I used Google Chrome instead of Firefox, it worked.

This made me wonder if the above OneDrive image problem might be browser issue. Sure enough, it was.

I really prefer Firefox and I do not want to have to go to Chrome.

Firefox kept eating my RAM, running dozens of processes. I have gone into about:config and set the dom.ipc.processCount to 1 - then I restarted Firefox and found 5 processes running straightaway before even using the browser. I closed it down and have started it again and now there are 11 processes running with just one tab open. The problem repeats on three different computers which are not infected with malware. One computer with slightly less RAM I now cant even use Firefox at all (though all other browsers work fine) because the tabs constantly crash due to the high number of processes. Is there any way to set the process limit low in a way that Firefox actually responds to?

If I have taken photos in past years on a particular date, I get an email from Microsoft to review them. I normally do it on my phone, but today tried it from my computer. The path is "One Drive" "Photos" "Moments" and then "On This Day." If you click on the photos that in the graphic that looks like a movie strip, a montage of the photos shows up and you can also click on one. However, in Firefox, I click on a picture and the screen goes gray, but nothing ever loads. I thought it was a Microsoft issue so used their help function. The rep and I tried it, then cleared the cache, then tried it in a private setting. We got the same result every time. Then he tried it whatever Microsoft's browser is called and it worked just fine. They said it was a problem on the Mozilla Firefox end, so I'm reporting it. Please let me know if you can help me make it work. I don't like using anything except Firefox.

How do I remove a shortcut from the Firefox address bar? I understand that I can "uncheck search, address bar, and shortcuts" in Firefox settings, but I think this just hides them, so I wanted to solve the problem fundamentally and asked for advice. Please tell me how to completely remove shortcut URLs from the address bar.
