My old PC crashed but I still have the old TB profile. When I copy that to the new PC the mail is restored but the calendar is blank. How can I import the old events?

I am writing this question concerning the new Thunderbird notification I received recently, prompting me to update to the Release Channel. Since I installed the client from the Microsoft Store, will it get automatically updated to the previous channel or will I have to do it manually? If I am not mistaken, to move between channels you need to do it yourself. How will this work with the Store version?

After Update 128.8.1esr installed on 3/19.2025, I cannot receive or send messages. Worked fine in the morning on 3/19 and after update I get nothing. I have an AOL account for my email. I can get my email by going through the AOL internet site, but nothing through Thunderbird. The previous update was 128.8.0esr installed on 3/7/2025, and that worked fine.

Why is moZilla forcing me to use Google Play Store to download Firefox? I used to be able to go directly to mozilla and get it (and yes i'm talking also about the android version)

I tried to use Thunderbird today,.. to find the interface was broken, menus were blank, so no ability to look at anything., and error message inferring there was a menu config issue was all that was shown. I duly removed Thunderbird as a snap install, which took a long time as it seemed to be making a backup to somewhere. I then reinstalled Thunderbird 128.11.0esr (64-bit) on my ubuntu 24.04,.. having setup the isp email credentials,.. all seemed fine,.. I then proceeded to import what I assumed was my old local folders... And this is where things went wrong, as I seem to have lost all my archived 2025 emails,.. I say somewhere,.. as I don't seem to be able to find them, I have used the 'find' command to locate anything with 2025 in the file name,.. but without success. At the moment I have a multi-structured 'local folder' entry, but nothing with 2025 in? I anyone able to shed some light on what I may have done wrong Many tx

Hello. Why doesn't Fiery Fox release a portable version of the browser? What if everything was in one folder and didn’t shit throughout the entire system?

Please help me to get my old version back. This new version has among other things a huge long list of I guess emails with no content just numbers n, I want the old version back please this is too confusing and does not work for me. I was asked and said yes by mistake.

Recovery of thunderbird forced change of message structure. Old tried and true layout became irrecoverable. Install phase of new thunderbird is not the time to go dicking around with the existing data structures. (which you yourself decided on ages ago).

How do I roll back the unwanted "upgrade" of thunderbird ?

I am trying to migrate off of Google, email, and most importantly - *Calendar (with tasks)*

{I just got stung by Proton who's calendar does not include any tasks, only events. Thus my Google calendar cannot import 75% of the data correctly.}

I had started with an Offline version of Thunderbird, refusing to integrate with Google. I was thinking I could import later, and not have to connect to Google to do so. I was very wrong, it turns out you cannot export the calendar and tasks file from Google via download, and then import said data to the Offline Thunderbird on my PC.

I could not figure out how to go back and connect Google to my Thunderbird. After banging my head for many hours on text walls that did not give the helps I needed... It did tell me how to import files to Thunderbird, but the .zip file from Google does not worky. I tried all options with no dice.

I gave up, and uninstalled Thunderbird, and re-installed it - hoping to get the option to install it with google integrated this time. It remembers all my settings from the Offline installation. Still contemplating taking Thunderbird off the machine and do a registry hunt to kill all entries of TB. I will try that in a bit.

Ok, so How can I set it up to work with google to get my Calendar, with tasks included into Thunderbird? Keep in mind I plan to break the Google connection once it is fully imported, for security purposes. And, before people copy/paste the FAQ at me, I did do the steps, several times, and several ways, none of which resolved the situation.

A recent Thunderbird update (auto update) must've been interrupted, because I keep getting a "Reboot your computer to complete the update" message. I have rebooted many times with no change. I tried to uninstall Thunderbird, but get the same message. I also tried to reinstall it, but no change. The Thunderbird icon has also changed to a computer with a disk in the front. Any ideas??

I recently installed Thunderbird on a new installation of Ubuntu 24.04 using the "Installing Thunderbird manually" instructions. Everything works fine except that Thunderbird doesn't want to use the Thunderbird icon in the dock. Thunderbird opens and runs fine when I click on the Thunderbird icon, but it then puts a new default icon on the dock that looks like a gear instead of just "using" the Thunderbird icon to indicate that the application is running. I've attached a screenshot. When I close Thunderbird, the gear icon disappears.
