Using Thunderbird b150, but have tried -esr and regular TB. New install of Win11 26200.8037. Up to date Firefox. Have been trying for a week for Thunderbird to authenticate my Outlook account. Worked with Copilot. Finally found a TB setting, network.proxy.allow_hijacking_localhost, that was set to FALSE. Set it to TRUE and Outlook account authenticated. Able to finally send mail. This was last night. This morning: Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.office365.com failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again. No changed to any programs. Have deleted Outlook saved password. Thunderbird NEVER offers to get password/authenticate. I am truly and sincerely frustrated.

If someone can help me, would sincerely appreciate.

Hello, I'm using the latest version of Thunderbird on Windows 11 and manage three email addresses with it. I've noticed that two spam folders have suddenly been created for each email address, but only one folder is being used. How can I delete the unused spam folders?

Using Thunderbird to check emails and the calendar for an Infomaniak account: The account was active and working properly. After switching this account to 2FA, Thunderbird consistently requested a username and password during synchronization. After some research, the solution is as follows: you need to create a new app password with Infomaniak, then ensure that Thunderbird saves the password and that the “Require device authentication...” option is disabled. Knowing that an email message should be kept below the size of 25MB, I was trying to make my attachments smaller than that. Yet when I was sending a message with no text and 1 attachment the size of 21.5MB, I got a warning that I was trying to send a message the size of 29.4MB. Where does this come from?

Recently switched ISPs to a fiber internet company. After the switch, now whenever I try access my comcast email tunderbird gives me a message that my IP is temporarily blacklisted. I get two messages. One is a windows notification that says the blacklisted message, and then a popup message from tunderbird that it cannot log in. I have contacted my ISP to ask them what's up with the blacklist, but what's weird is that I can seem to access these accounts fine through Outlook, which would seem to indicate that there is some issue with tunderbird. I'd really rather use tunderbird than outlook. Can somebody help me with this?

The few articles I could find on this all suggest changing the IPv6 setting but I checked that and it is already set to what they suggest.

I tried deleting the account and recreating it in tunderbird, but it won't go through it says it can't log into the account.

I'm running Thunderbird 140.5.0esr (32-bit) on Windows 10 Pro Build 19045. After the last few updates the columns in the email listings are changing widths from what I've set them, this seems to happen after I close then reopen Thunderbird; which I'm having to do more often these days to resolve weird calendar malfunctions. For instance, the data column would appear so narrow that only the month/day show with "..." at the end, when I know I've looked at this yesterday with the full view of the date and time showing. I've reviewed my options and I've set them individually, set them globally and it makes no difference. Of course I've rebooted, etc. I have over a hundred local folders and they all change differently, of course some look the same but others don't. Most have the same column headings selected but it doesn't seem to matter. Some have the "Correspondents" column selected but many don't.

This is very irritating and I'd like to know why Thunderbird is doing this, and more importantly, how can I prevent this behavior in the future. Thanks,

I often have problems send multiple emails. Sometimes if I try three times they go. At the moment refusing to send. Is there a maximum I can have ? Could you you give me so setup tip? Difficult because it works sometimes.. Suggestions please, cant work it out. John Dobson

I keep getting 30 to 40 messages in my junk folder every day that are not junk or spam. I keep moving them to my inbox folder but many of the same messages keep going to the junk folder.

Win 11 running on Dell Vostro laptop, I recently updated to Thunderbird Version 149.0.2 (64 Bit) Beta. PLEASE NOTE been using Thunderbird Email client for 5 yrs now always kept it updated to latest version ... Most recently updated to version above... Now in Local Folders lists a DELETED folder ,and instead of a SENT folder , seems it has been replaced by a new folder tagged OUTBOX. I have no problem with that if my previously sent items over many yrs use, where displayed there, but nope.... content zero.

If I use the search facility in Thunderbird it finds most recent and previous messages list of my emails for that one recipient searched for only . However would be much happier if I could just see all SENT items in one folder under LOCAL FOLDERS , TAGGED INBOX or SENT .... I dont mind how its tagged .

So in conclusion I am not a computer wizard if a fix is known for this I kindly ask. Please provide step by step instruction in your answer .

Or do I wait till next Thunderbird software update for a solution ?

Either yesterday or today, I was prompted within Mozlla Thunderbird to enter my password before I could download e-mail sent to my main business e-mail address, [edited]@suddenlink.net. I did that, expecting to see my latest mail haul from that account downloaded to my inbox. I was therefore unpleasantly surprised to see that my e-mail login failed, with the message:

"Login to server imap.suddenlink.net with username [edited] failed."

Yet, I was able to log into my webmail account for [edited] online with that same login and password.

I then tried updating the password, thinking that the Optimum server was requiring that I do that as a security measure for the entire network. After restarting the system, I logged back into Thunderbird and tried to view my [edited]@suddenlink.net e-mail.

Even after doing all that, I failed to gain access to my latest e-mail deliveries to [edited]@suddenlink.net.

Can anyone help me to restore my access to my e-mail account [edited]@suddenlink.net in Mozilla Thunderbird? I can view or send the e-mail in my webmail account, or on my Smartphone. However, those methods are considerably less convenient than relying on mail delivery to or from Thunderbird.

This sort of setback has happened before. Whenever it happened it was difficult to solve. Attached is a screenshot of the Thunderbird response to my attempted server login.

48 hours ago, emails ceased to arrive (they can still be sent). A friend who tried to send me a message received this message:

Thunderbird lädt keine neuen Mails mehr vom pop3 Postfach herunter, aber ständig alte. Beim versuch das Konto neu einzurichten kann Thunderbird keine Einstellungen finden, obwohl die Einstellungen stimmen. Auf dem Handy (Android) werden die Mails einwandfrei heruntergeladen.

I have a costumer in my store that uses Thunderbird, it has worked fine for him for years without any issues.

But now for some reason random emails get saved to his desktop, and has no idea why that is happening.

I have checked settings to make sure it doesnt save anything to the desktop, the folder is set to save inside appdata/roaming

We have tried updating the program with no luck so far, just updated it again today. Costumer is nervous towards deleting the program and setting up his email again, I have told him that his emails and folders wont be effected. But still doesnt want us to do it.

So unless you can give confirmation that nothing will happen to his files and folders he wont let us reinstall the program.

Can you let us know if its a known bug or better yet, give us a solution, we would both be very grateful.

An IRS form 4506-B PDF has to filled out and sent with adobe reader, if you use a browser it disables funtions in adobe acrobate reader that allow you to send the form. Thunderbird works find to send regular emails. It isnt working when I click on the "submit form" buttton at bottom of the 4506-B forms page. I ran Thunderbird in troubleshoot mode and turned off all AVG protection includeing VPN and it still wont work. I tried with my aol and gmail accounts.

Hi, Thunderbird updated this morning, and now I cannot access my email. I've rebooted, confirmed my server settings, and it has not fixed it.
