First off you should warn that this version changes your profile, so there is no going back. I installed it and have lost ALL of my accounts and had to start from scratch. It took me back to the beginning. I hate the interface, too cluttered, to busy and generally sucks. I am thinking of dumping thunderbird at many, many years of using it.

Compacting folders loses all email content from inbox

Thumderbird asked if it could compact folders. Said yes. Now all that shows is the title line for all emails in inbox, but NO content displayed. Can still see conten… (read more)

Thumderbird asked if it could compact folders. Said yes. Now all that shows is the title line for all emails in inbox, but NO content displayed.

Can still see content in emails that are in other folders, seems to be only inbox that will not show content of the emails

New emails arriving will show content as well as some old old emails in inbox

I have had some critical emails vanish on me. I did not delete them. They are simply not there any longer. Where have they gone and why did they go there? I've gone through every folder in my tree with no luck. I can't imagine what might have happened to these emails but I can guarantee that i did not delete them. Their value was to obvious and clear to ever contemplate such a move. they were from August of 2023. My trash folders only go back to November of 2023. I made a payment to Mozilla for Thunderbird. Is there any chance that that payment resulted in an updated application that wiped out some files?

My life won't end if I can't restore these emails. But it will' 'be a devastating loss.
