Hi there! I find the new sidebar (on the left for me) a great addition but is there a way to reverse the "top to bottom" tabs displaying order?
Not a way to move tabs, but a setting allowing, when opening a new tab (Ctrl+t), to place (and display) the icon on top of the tabs icons pile, not at the bottom.
I get that it's the opposite of the normal reading direction, but it's rather unnatural to go looking at the bottom of the screen for recently opened tabs, IMHO.
Thanks in advance if you can address this, or show me where I can find such setting.
Best regards from France, Jc

Hello,
In multi-window browser sessions on Linux, the "Recently closed tabs" menu shows a list of URLs relevant to the parent (aka current) window, and that is both perfectly logical and highly useful. It makes it a lot easier to find that specific URL you're looking for, if not only because it increases the chance that it hasn't yet been flushed out of the recently-closed list.
I have a very distinct memory that this was the case on Mac too for the URLs showed by this menu when accessed via the "hamburger menu". I'm positive that I accessed the function via the hamburger menu rather than the faster way via the menubar for that very reason. And I just realised that it's no longer possible starting with at least v143.
With the Mac's global menu bar it would stand to reason that it presents lists that are "global" to the session, but I see no good *usability* reason that would justify *not* using window-specific lists under the hamburger menu.
One could of course argue that it's confusing and a "burden" to the user that s/he would need to remember in which window the looked-for tab once lived. But that argument would apply to all platforms, and this is supposed to be about *recently* closed tabs and one has to assume that the majority of users have no issue remembering in which window they have (or had!) a given tab open. (And that otherwise they'd be using a singe window, probably maximised to occupy the entire screen ;) ).

When I use Firefox every day, I often encounter the situation where the vertical tab cannot be automatically expanded when the mouse is moved over it. Please check the comparison of the pictures I uploaded. I am unhappy about this because it will affect our experience of using Firefox. I hope that this problem can be fixed by reporting it to you. The automatic expansion of vertical tabs returns to normal when I create a new Firefox window.
My computer information is window 11 professional version 22H2 (x64), Intel chipset, Firefox version number is 144.0.2 (x64)
I am a heavy user of Firefox. I agree with the values that Firefox adheres to, so I want to make it better. Thank you for taking the time to read my feedback. I am from China and would like to say hello to you.

Hi!
I am having a problem with Firefox where: - if I am searching in the address bar in one tab (tab A), - but then before that finishes loading, I switch to a different tab (tab B), - Firefox will switch me back to tab A once tab A finishes loading. It's not immediate and is a little aggravating as it pushes me out of what I was already doing.
I'm currently on Firefox Beta (145.0) on Windows 11. I've tried the "When you open a link, image or media in a new tab, switch to it immediately" setting.

Hi,
I generally have 20~30 tabs open in Firefox. So as of now, if I scroll on the tab bar, 6~7 tabs will move left/right per scroll. I want to modify this number of tab scroll to one per mouse wheel scroll.
I searched for this tweak but did not get any workable solution.
I'm using Firefox 144.0.2 (64-bit) on windows 10.
If you have any tweak, pls share.
Thanks ..

Recently, whenever i have to quit firefox, my tabs have all disappeared upon opening. I have tried all the suggestions in the Mozilla help and nothing seems to work. This used to happen from time to time which was frustrating but now it happens every time I need to quit firefox. "Recently closed tabs" and "recently closed windows" are greyed out when I try to use that. and there is nothing in "restore previous history". Thank you for your help.

I really do like the new vertical tabs and I have them set to be just icons until you hover the mouse over them and then they fly out and I can read the names of the tabs. My problem is that when I switch a tab or do anything that makes the tabs expand to see their full names if I take the cursor off they fly back in but if I put the cursor on any area of how far the tabs came out to in the next few seconds they come out again even though I haven't put my cursor over the tab icon. This is really annoying for forums and really for general browsing as if I switch to a tab and want to interact with anything where the tabs came out to I have to wait like 5-10 seconds before I can click anything on that part of the page or else the tabs come flying out again. Is there any way to make it so the second my cursor isn't over the tab fly out that they will go back to the compact mode and won't come back out unless I hover over the tab icon again to alleviate this problem? I find I will often switch to a tab and then move my cursor off to the page and the names collapse so there are only icons left but I try to interact with something on the left side of the page and the tabs fly out way before my cursor goes near the tab icon and I have to take my cursor to the right then try going back to interact with that element and most of the time I have to go back and forth a few times before the tabs stop flying out so I can interact with that portion of the left side of the web page. I really like the vertical tabs but I want to be able to edit the time it takes for them to not fly back out if your cursor goes to where they had flown out to immediately, so zero seconds, instead of the 3-10 seconds or whatever it is set at by default.
Thanks!

Windows 10, latest version.
I hit a shortcut, I think, and heard the trackpad, then one of the three open tabs was isolated from the rest in a separate, almost chromeless window.
It's not in the taskbar pop-ups but instead has its own icon. In this 'chromeless' window there is no option to add a tab or window, there is no area to move it (I have to carefully use emtpy space in between buttons to move it). The top just fell off, that's basically it.
I have never seen this and have been using Firefox from the start way back when. I didn't install anything; this just happened as I was reading something and accidentally touched a key. Nothing changed, no settings were adjusted, nothing.
This option is not in the tabs menu or anywhere. I must say I kinda like it for this one 'tab' (which is a solo chromeless window) but I do need the menu and so on for productivity.
One of the screenshots shows this 'window', the other shows that 'window' is not part of the regular pop-up tabs in the taskbar but rather has its own icon, as if it were an app, in that taskbar.
What in the world is this? Can someone help?

When I click on my Firefox web browser, I can open one window and one window only. The + sign allowing me to open and keep open multiple windows at the same time is gone. For instance, when I open my email, that works fine, but if an email contains a link to a news story I want to read and I click on it, the browser takes me there, but it closes my email window and I can't get back to it, unless I close Firefox and start over.

In Firefox, pinned tabs are limited to the specific browser window in which they are created. This behavior differs from Safari, where pinned tabs persist across all open windows. When a Firefox window containing pinned tabs is closed, those tabs are permanently removed. This implementation undermines the intended purpose of pinned tabs, which is to provide persistent, easily access to sites regardless of session or window state. Pinned tabs should ideally remain consistent across all browser windows and persist until explicitly unpinned by the user. The current behavior results in a poor user experience and discourages users who expect cross-window and session persistence, functionality that aligns more closely with the concept of “pinning.” I have raised his limitation repeatedly, but it remains unaddressed. A more consistent, user-centric approach would ensure pinned tabs are retained globally until manually dismissed.

Hi! So I have been using the firefox app on my ipad air for a while now and in the last few weeks the following issue has turned up: Regularly, but not always, the app opens a new tab any time I click on a link. Example: I use moodle for work and each time I want to get somewhere in my moodle classes, a new tab opens. When I give the app a fresh start, the issue resolves for a while but returns eventually. I have no idea why but I have to say that it is quite annoying when you have to scrool through tabs all the time. Hopefully, you will be able to help me out. Thank your for taking the time to understand my issue! Sandra

When switching tabs using the MRU menu (Ctrl+Tab), it only shows 7 of the most recent tabs. However, oftentimes I need to jump back further down in the history. This history *is* kept in the Firefox View tab. Is there any way I can extend the number of recent tabs shown in the Ctrl+Tab menu?
Or at least in the "List All Tabs"? It currently is set to show the tabs in natural order and not MRU.

I have lost my tabs after the recent update. They used to show all tab groups in toolbar icon as mentioned here (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/tab-groups) in manage tabs section. Only the groups that were open are retained, the groups which were closed are lost. They contained important tabs which I haven't bookmarked. I didn't see any policy of removal of inactive tab groups after certain time, any help would be really appreciated. I use the desktop app on Linux.

OK, I am a heavy user of tab groups in Firefox (glad to get off Chrome once this was available). Unfortunately, Bookmark All Tabs only saves the open tabs in my Firefox window. It Does Not save anything inside a tab group that isn't opened - AND it doesn't save any of the tab group structure - ex. the group, what is inside it, etc.
IS there some way to properly save all the tab information (groups and tabs inside those groups) in Firefox? There is in Chrome by the way. IF there isn't, has someone out there produced an extension to do this??
Seems like a big oversight in the intro of tab groups if there is really no way to do this...
I do the Bookmark All Tabs for backup and have needed it many times in my Chrome past usage.
Thanks in advance

Is there any way the recent changes to the browser on IOS can be reverted in a future update or at least have the option to change the layout ? The recent changes make absolutely sense and are frankly aggravating as a longtime user, It honestly feels like a joke to suddenly have the tab names below the tabs and the tab menu at the bottom of the screen. Duckduckgo is looking more tempting with every recent update :/
