Recently, A new hard drive was installed in my computer. I neglected to plan for that by exporting my address book and calendar. I have installed Thunderbird again and the address book. But I cannot get the calendar data to go into Thunderbird. Even a computer guy who extracted the address book and calendar from the old hard drive can't get the calendar file (local.sqlite) to read. How can I get the file to read into the blank calendar? OR will I have to begin filling in a new calendar?

I am using Thunderbird version 128.14.0esr (64-bit) on a Linux system to access email via IMAP/SMTP and it works just fine. Since Thunderbird doesn't seem to support Exchange calendars (as also per https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/microsoft-oauth-authentication-and-thunderbird-202) I would like to integrate Nextcloud calendars. I have followed the official Nextcloud guide for Thunderbird calendar integration, but it is not working. I suspect it is due to the federation, since Thunderbird "Add a calendar" return me a "You credentials have not been accepted". My question is: does Thunderbird’s "Add a calendar" feature support in some way calendar access with OpenID Connect or OAuth2 federation authentication methods? (or there is a way to configure Thunderbird to do so with calendars?)

Hey all,

For about half of the notifications I get from my google calendar, I get a dialogue warning me that the item has changed on the server and I can submit my changes anyway or discard and reload. It doesn't matter what I choose - the pop up goes away and reappears at the next notification.

I have searched for other reports of this issue and seen it reported many times in the last few years. I have tried all of the known solutions but none of them seem to fix the issue for me.

Here's what I've tried:

- Unsubscribed and resubscribed to the google calendar - Unsubscribed, shut down Thunderbird, deleted the calendar-data folder from my profile, opened Thunderbird, and resubscribed to the google calendar - Toggled "Read Only" every which way - Toggled "Offline Support" every which way - Turned off show reminders (which fixes it of course but I want reminders, that's the problem) - Deleted the offending events in my google calendar and recreated them from scratch - which has returned the same "item changed on server" warning.

I don't know what else to do at this point. I don't see any new reports of this issue so am I just missing something fundamental here? Do people not use google calendar in Thunderbird? Is it known to not work if you have an iPhone that also shows calendar notifications or something?

My desktop specs are Windows 11, everything at latest, no additional calendars other than "Holidays in the United States" (which I think comes with Thunderbird), and the BorderColors D extension to change colors of my email border depending on which address I'm sending from.

I recently installed Thunderbird again after several years away from it. I do not not why I ever stopped using it but no matter I am back to it now.

However, upon setting it up, I noticed that the tasks have not been added from ANY of my accounts. When I go to the calendar list on the task view, no calendars are showing either.

How do I get Thunderbird to show my tasks in the various accounts?

I am using Thunderbird 128.14.0esr on Debian. I tried to import an internet calendar but it was unable to find it until I changed `webcal://` to `https://`.

The issue is basically resolved already by replacing webcal in the URI but it might be better to add support for this scheme too.

(None of the topics provided when creating the question seems to "best describe" this question. So I chose one at random.)

When I create a new task, I can choose a due date. But it seems that when choosing a due date, it forces me to also choose a due time. Is it possible to add a task with a due date but no due time? Maybe something akin to the "all day event" for calendar events?

This answer says to "choose the option 'All Day Event'", but I don't have this option when creating a task (see attached screenshot).

My workaround is to choose an arbitrary time. While this works somewhat, it's unsatisfactory.

Thanks for any help.

Two Questions on Thunderbird Calendar

1. When you convert an event to an email using the calendar, is there a way to have it convert the entire event (time/date, details) instead of just the title?

2. And, how can you choose (make a default) as to which email it comes from?

Since a while my TB only runs in safe mode or with Lightning disabled.

Otherwise I get loads of "unresponsive script" messages concerning:

Script: chrome://calendar/content/calendar-task-tree.xml:1010 Script: chrome://calendar/content/widgets/minimonth.xml:531 Script: chrome://calendar/content/widgets/minimonth.xml:547 Script: resource://calendar/modules/utils/calUnifinderUtils.jsm:111 Script: chrome://calendar/content/calFilter.js:728 Script: chrome://calendar/content/calendar-ui-utils.js:89

neither continuing nor stopping the script helps.

I'm running on Linux Mint 18.1 64bit; TB 60.4.0

I do not even miss my calendar so much on my computer, but unfortunately somehow surprisingly it also means that my contacts are not synchronized anymore. I don't know why the disabled Lightning also stop the functioning of the SOGoConnector.

Happy about any advice! Thank you very much! Rouven

Hello community,

So I just came up with thunderbird and I waned to give it a try for my emails and my calendars. The Calendar that I want to sync is from Nextcloud 13 and Thunderbird 60.5.1 (64-bit) on MacOS Mojave 10.14.2. The email sync works pretty fine. I tried though to create a Calendar as well:

Double click on the left bar Choose "On the network" Format: CalDav Location: cloud.xxxxxx.xxx/remote.php/dav/principals/users/xxxx/ Offline support enabled then "next"

on the next tab: Name:xxxxxx Color Show reminders enabled email: The email that I synced

when I finish the configuration the name of the calendar is on the left bar with a triangle exclamation next to it. When I pass the cursor by it, it shows "The calendar xxx is momentarily not available". I tried to sync it but it does nothing. I triedto add an event but nothing changes on the calendar.

What could it be the problem? Thanks in Advance, Alex

Hi there,

I have configured my Google Calendars in Lightning, using the Provider for Google extension. But my primary mail account is not the google mail account.

When receiving invites I get the message that no 'writable' calendar is configured. I read that you should be able to associate another mail address to an Calendar but apparently this option is not available using the Provider for Google configuration.

Any suggestions?

I have one question and a suggestion.

My question is why doesn't the alarm I set in Lightning work unless Thunderbird is open?

My suggestion is a calendar for Windows and an identical calendar for Android that sync so that I can avoid telling Google all about my life. I've worked hard to avoid Google. I use Firefox as my browser. I use DuckDuckGo as my search engine. I don't use a GMail address. I use Thunderbird to send my messages from my PC. I use an alternative navigation program on my phone and I turn off my GPS when I'm not using it. I use Dragon to talk to my phone when I'm driving instead of using Google Assistant. I use simple calendar, simple file and simple gallery instead of the Google alternatives. And I "sync" my calendars by entering the same information manually into the calendar on my phone and the calendar on my PC (Efficient Calendar Free).

But, boy, it would be sweet if I could find a non-Google calendar program that would sync across my devices. That would really be sweet.

Keep up the great work. You're not only making good products, you're protecting what little is left of our privacy, and I, for one, appreciate that.
