I am using TB 140.9.0esr (64-bit) on Kubuntu 25.10 but this has been true for some years. Mostly when a start a new Email address whether in the To:, cc: or bcc: fields TB does a very good guess after a few letters about the address I want. However, every so often, perhaps 5% of the time it will pick the correct person but I won't notice that it has picked an old address for that person. It seems to happen in bursts, so three times in the last few hours for two different addressees. I realise that I could shift the old addresses for people to the notes section of the address book but I would rather not as I am hoping that one day TB will have the ability to search for all Emails to/from someone across all the addresses they ever had, current or deceased. Is there a way you can stop TB suddenly changing its guesses about the addresses for a person? Or could you add a way to tell TB in the address book that addresses are dead and should never be offered as addresses to send to?

I run TBD 140.8.0 esr (64 bit) under Debian 12 Linux. Until recently I could automatically enter a special address from the pertaining addressbook, this does not work anymore. helpfiles do not show a solution thus I am here.

The addressbook is full of addresses however I have to transfer a special address via past and copy into the addressfield of the mail I want to send.

I recently installed Thunderbird on my Android pad where all my email contacts came in fine. However, I just went to my Windows 10 laptop where I've previously used Thunderbird and my contacts are missing. How do I get them back to my laptop?

Hello, I can't find a way to connect my contact database to Thunderbird for Android. How can I set this up so that email addresses can be easily added or imported automatically in the entry fields of a new email? Thanks in advance! Regards

I would glad donate to TB Mozilla IF it would work the way it is supposed to. I tried for 3 hours to create a MAILING LIST nut to no avail. The instructions make no sense.

Also in my Address book that I imported, phone numbers show up under the heading "email addresses...and I have email showing up at all.

Monsieur, Je voudrais envoyer un mail et ... plus de carnet d'adresse !? D ou ma colere et ma surprise, j espere que la nouvelle vertion de Thunderbird n a pas écrase mon carnet d adresse ! Ou le trouver ? et le mettre en lien la nouvelle vertion pour l utiliser comme avant ! si c'est possible ! Hallo, die Kontakte im Adressbuch werden mit Carddav zu meinem Mailaccount (IONOS) nur teilweise syncronisiert. Die Syncronisation endet bei 1000 Einträgen, ist das so gewollt oder kann ich dies ändern? Fehlermeldungen gibt es dazu keine. Die betrifft die Thunderbird un Linux Ubuntu. Ich Thunderbird Windows 11 funktioniert alles.

I'm using a 2 year old Mac running Sonoma 14.7.2. I recently updated to Thunderbird 128.13.0esr. I have a small e-mail address group within address books, created way before my recent Thunderbird update. Now I want to add people to that small group. Having trouble. Don't find any way to "add" to the small e-mail address list. In fact, I can't even type the new ones in there. I was hoping I could either shiftC/shiftV or drag and drop but that didn't work either. (and now, I just noticed that all the addess lists are much shorter than they were before I started trying to add to the small group! So it looks like I've lost a substsntial number of email addresses!! Some time ago when I updated Thunderbird, I lost all my saved mail. I went into Time Machine and went back to the prior Thunderbird and stayed there for a couple of years, afraid to update again until a few days ago. It seemed OK until today when I'm having this address book problem. Maybe I'll have to go back in time again. V.H. DeMarco

Thunderbird still syncs Gmail contacts even though I have no Gmail account in TB. I imported a Vcard into TB and deleted a couple contacts. Went back into Gmail contacts and had to restore them.

Nachdem mein PC neu installiert wurde musste ich auch alle Programme wieder neu installieren. Leider fehlen bei der Installation von Thunderbird meine vorherigen Email-Adressen, bzw. Adressbuch, und bei Firefox die vorherigen Favoriten. Wie kann ich diese Wiederherstellen? Make email addresses easily copyable.

We have an email account that is gmail behind the scenes but uses a front end alias (e.g. name@organisation.ca). Adding the email account to Thunderbird is no problem, TB recognizes that it is a gmail account. However, it does not automatically add the address book. I tried to add manually using the new Accounts Hub CardDav putting in the email address under UserName and putting in imap.gmail.com:993 for the URL/Hostname. It does not work and I get the error: Component returned failure code: 0x80004002 (NS_NOINTERFACE) [nsISupports.QueryInterface]

I'm using Win11, TBird Version 145.0 (64-bit). I'd like to copy an address entry from one address book to another. I can MOVE the entry by dragging it from one book to the other, but I'm too stoopid to figure out how to duplicate the entry in the 2nd book. Help!
