Menu: Message>attachment>delete all

When delete all attachments for a message, when delete all attachments, auto move to the next message.

This behavior is annoying, usually I first delete all attachments and then reply but message position is in the next message.

This behavior is for example for version 140.7.1esr and 140.8.1esr.

hello, i cannot seem to find a solution online, hopefully someone here can help.

i often receive emails with images attached, and most of the time people don't resize the image. so you can imagine over time this all adds up. i dont always need to keep a 6mb image versions. i would love if there is a way to resize the email image attachment, to at least still have a smaller copy for refence, but not end up with a huge email account (local/pop3)

preferably a one click solution, or even a routine i can run on the file system, etc.

I want to send photographs from my Android phone to the "pictures" section of the Thunderbird e-mail program. The photos are going into that section but I can't see the picture itself as they just show wording as extensions. How do I get the actual picture to show up? How do I put my desired description of each of the "pictures" on the list along with the extension wording?

I attached a 9 mb html file to an email and sent it. In sending it was broken up into 10 different emails.. In receiving it, I found 10 emails and don't know what to do with them. I selected all 10, and there appeared a window with the word "archive" . Which I clicked and now all 10 email are in a subfolder named Archives.. I still don't know what to do with them in order to join them together into the original readable file.

Would appreciate some suggestions...

I newly installed Thunderbird 148 on a Windows 11 laptop (after uninstalling a previous installation under a different user). I connected to a Yahoo Mail account and downloaded all the emails from the Yahoo inbox.

Emails with attachments (.pdf and .docx) visible online in Yahoo Mail do not include these attachments when downloaded to Thunderbird.

I received an email with 7 attachments. 2 of the attachments had similar filenames (not identical). When I selected "Save All" the 2 similar filenames were not saved. See screenshots for details

I am a TB user (for work) and i love it, the main reason being the fact that it's simple, compared to MS Outlook, for example. Easy to use, intuitive for new users, and so on. So congrats to everyone for keeping it simple! :)

Now, an issue i've come across recently. More and more people send documents as .jpeg, pictures taken by smartphones. And, as everyone knows, the recent models have increased the MB of each camera. And most people sadly keep the max resolution, best quality, like you'd use when going on a holiday. But you don't need this when you take a picture of an invoice or a gas receipt. This results in very large attachments, esp. when you add several pics to an email.

The current limit seems to be 25MB (i got this from Google, didn't see any mention of a limit in TB help?!). So my question is simple: can I, a user, increase this limit somehow? Or is it a dev related setting? If users can, please guide me through some options/menus because i haven't found any. I use the latest version, 140.8.0esr. A realistic limit, imho, would be 100MB/email.

Also, kindly please keep feedback on topic, I am not interested in sharing, or sending in any other ways, like wetransfer, google drive, one drive, etc.

I routinely drag and drop attachments out of an incoming email and into various desktop folders. However, in the last couple of days, it started creating multiple copies when dragging more than one attachment at a time AND doing it in multiples of the number of attachments. For example, if I drag four attachments over, it will save the original attachment and create three more and number them: ex. File.pdf (original) and File-1.pdf, File-2.pdf, File-3.pdf. Three file equals two copies, six files equals five copies, and so on. Dragging one attachment is fine and saving multiples via SAVE ALL works fine as well. It's only multiples via drag and drop. I am running the latest Thunderbird 148.0 on a Mac with Tahoe 26.3.

Just a couple hours ago I tried to attach a photo from my Samsung phone. I was successful doing so earlier today. Now I get this message and have no idea what to do? "C:\Users\Owner\Desktop\Jack.jpg could not be opened, because the associated helper application does not exist. Change the association in your preferences." Can you help?

When T-Bird sends a message with an in-content photo, is that photo compressed to save space and transmission time?

I converted from Eudora. Eudora would compress in-content photos to save space and transmission time.

If T-Bird performs a similar action, is that compressed file saved somewhere?

Whenever I open Thunderbird on my desktop, I get a message that "FileLink Provider from WEBDAV is not properly configured," or something like that (hard to write it down when it just flashes on the screen for a few seconds!).

I have no idea what that means. I may have used FileLink in the dim dark past, but I don't recall what it's even for, let alone what to do about this error message, if anything.

Shall I just ignore it, or is there something I should do to resolve the matter? Thanks!

After creating an email message, I click on attachment button to attach a file or pdf document to the message. The file explorer screen opens for a second then closes, giving me no opportunity to attach anything.

Hi, I have an issue with the Android mobile versionof Thunderbird (16.1). I cannot open PDF sent to me, neither through clicking it in the app, nor by downloading it and open it with other applications. The PDFs themself must bei ok, cause I can open them on desktop. Also I don't have issues with opening PDF reaching me by other sources. My os is Android 15. Do you have a fix for it or do I have to wait till it's fixed by a patch? Kind regards

Need help with the following as its creating confusing attachments. Whenever someone attaches an EML file to an email, the attachement pane shows the EML file AND the attachments from said EML file along with any other attachement, is there a way to not show the EML attachments to avoid any confusion and not download repeated older attachments?

I was sending an email with an attachment I wanted to check the attachment before I sent it. But I chose windows media player and it won't work I went to remove media player but I couldn't open my attachments, so I put the attachments back on but I still can't open my attachment. What do I do so I can Read my attachments again Thank you Richard
