I am having a sudden error: tapping the tabs icon no longer has any effect. I can long-press for the menu (open a tab / close this tab), but not view my other tabs. I have restarted my phone, closed and opened tabs using the long-press menu, and tried from landscape as well as portrait (eg, not a dead spot on my touchscreen).

I’m guessing others may be having this problem, so don’t necessarily need a response, really just writing to alert your support team.

After some update on Android Firefox, discarding tab by swiping to right (on List mode) has become so much more difficult that it messes with the flow and makes me consider switching browser. Is there a way to maybe tweak some configs to change it back or even a way to downgrade the Firefox?

Hello, FF support forum,

I think I have seen a Container retain my login to a site when I open it again after closing it. Is there a way to configure Containers so that they are mini versions of the dump-cookies-temp-data when I close Firefox entirely? I would so love that functionality.

Regards, G.W.

When I click on a bookmark, FF opens it in the current tab, overwriting the site I had open. I have to add a tab, then click on the bookmark to have it in a new tab. This is an annoying extra step. How to I change it? I already tried the open links in new tabs instead of windows. Makes no difference On or Off

Until recently, in Firefox Nightly for Android, when visiting a web page in a Private Browsing tab the three-dot menu included an option to "Open in regular tab". In the past few versions, this option has been removed.

This option is especially handy for those of us who have the "Open links in a private tab" option enabled, which essentially makes Private Browsing the default. For example, if it is a page that normally requires a login, you can use "Open in regular tab" to easily open it in a regular session where you are automatically logged in. If your browser history is synced, "Open in regular tab" makes a page easily available on all devices (e. g. via Suggest) without having to bookmark it or actually send it to a different device.

This post on Bugzilla says "we will continue to keep this a Nightly-only feature" and the menu entry will be renamed to "Move to non-private tab". However, the menu entry does not appear on the redesigned menu.

1. Which exact version removed the option? Is there documentation about this in Bugzilla? 2. Is there a way to re-enable it, e. g. in about:config? 3. If not, are there any plans to bring it back?

Thanks.

Hi Team, I am using Linux Mint 20 Cinnamon. Cinnamon version is 4.6.6. The issue is that I was browsing and by mistake I selected one tab then dragged it for sometime and then released the tab but that created a new window and now the old windows are not visible in ALT + Tab function. The windows are showing in the Firefox task manager and also the box icon in the top right corner in that "open tabs". Now I am not able to even change the window or able to access the opened tabs. Attached the screenshot and as you can see in that there are total 4 windows showing in firefox and one as active but in the bottom on the firefox icon you can see its only 1 window. How can I access the remaining 3 windows? Found one ticket (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1477845) in this the recommend solution does not work. When I try to click on the window 1 tabs then I do not get any response. I tried both the solution but none worked.

Thanks for the help in advance. @Mozilla team member is seeing please check and fix this bug if possible.

I am a new convert from Chrome to Firefox and have been using OneTab to keep a list of current tabs. I recently started using Firefox TabGroups to create groups to store the tabs I open the most often. After a reboot, however, all 4 of the TabGroups I created yesterday are completely gone today. As I have a water-cooled system, and don't leave my computer on overnight out of best practices, I need to be able to shut down at the end of day and come back the following day and be able to use the same TabGroups.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

[I use firefox on Mac, Windows, and Android, but the issue seems to effect me mostly on Mac and Windows) I'm just guessing this to be a browse issue. However I won't miond the post being moved to a more relevant sub-forum.

I keep arriving at this solution when searching for a solution to the increasing number of sites using the irritatingly abused stay/leave page question-dialogue box which pops up when i want to leave a page. The common solution appears to be https://userscripts.org/scripts/show/23865 However, when this page loads, I just get an empty box which looks like one of those ones which normally contain scripts to run or stop running certain things, or even to add or embed items etc.

When researching I often need to load lots of pages top go through. however, when i then need to close them all, i end up manually having to complete these irritating dialogies which are OBVIOUSLY really meant for pages where you may be filling in a form, or editing something, and perhaps have not completed filling it in. However, many sites irritatingly abuse this and just add the feature anyway. It just tells yiou they are dodgy rather than trustworthy. Any up-to-date advice as on July 2025? Any trusted new extensions/addons for this as with auto-cookie form-fillers perhaps?

I know there's a workaround, but that's beside the point. You don't break into someones home in order to re-organize it, that's just bad practice all around.

In an android tablet can Firefox show the tabs on top of the browser view? As it is now I have to jump to a weird "tab screen" to see the other tabs. Feels like it's not really a tab but more like a separate window. Very kludgy way to go from one "tab" to another. This is a huge step back from Chrome.

Support Firefox to be able to use different tab view modes on different windows! For example, two Firefox windows on different monitors, in my situation below:

- One on a 1920*1080 hori screen, with vertical tab sidebar disabled - One on a 1080*1920 vert screen, with vertical tab sidebar enabled for this window only in this case.

It brings much more convenience, at least for situations just like mine :)
