Today, when I opened my firefox page, I was forced to create a profile whether I wanted one or not. I did so, and lost all my established bookmarks and other links to items I frequently use. How can I recover those?

I have some more email accounts with Hotmail and Outlook but there is popping an error just after the popup where it asks for permissions to connect Thunderbird to my account, and I say Yes and also receive the email that some new apps have connected to my accounts, but Thunderbird just at that step instead of Finish it displays that error message like asking again for Username and Password and even if I fill there the correct details it doesn't go further. Something is unclear at that step, because I also tried removing the passkey from the respective account Page at outlook.com and also the 2FA but the same.

Can you help me?

bold text Hi, I have Yahoo mail and Thunderbird. I want to use TB as my main mail but still keep my Yahoo account as the data is stored by yahoo and I suspect I will loose my history if I cancel..

I leave my email and a couple of other tabs open when I shut down. I cannot make TB appear as a tab, it always opens full page.

Any ideas?

Mam problem, pierwsze parę kont dodanych do Thunderbird działa poprawnie i nie ma z nimi problemu. Natomiast pojawił się problem z kolejymi pocztami -nie widzę na nich połowy folderów, albo w sumie żadnych, ani wiadomości wysłanych, ani roboczych. Znowu na innej poczcie w odebranych, nie widzę nadawców - tylko własnego maila. Próbowałam na nowo zainstalować te poczty, jednak nie przynosi to zamierzonych efektów, albo wręcz jest jeszcze gorzej.

A few weeks ago, I started to get repeated messages from Firefox asking me to make Firefox my default browser. Firefox has been my default browser for years, and I have never made anything else my default browser. Anyway, I followed the prompts and re-selected Firefox as my default browser. A little while would go by (sometimes as little as a minute) and I would again get the prompts to select Firefox as my default browser. This append 20 or 30 times. And, every time it happened, all of my saved passwords disappeared, but would reappear when I re-selected Firefox. In the last week, this situation has gotten a lot worse. Now, the saved passwords don't come back. And, the prompt you usually get when entering passwords to a new site offering to save the password doesn't appear any more. So, the only way I can rebuild my saved passwords is to enter them manually, which I am not going to do because it would take a couple of hours and then I'm pretty sure they would all disappear again. Also, I like to go to my homepage when I open a new tab. Can't do that anymore. When I open a new tab, I get a new private browsing window. I have checked all my settings a dozen times, and they are correct. I have combed your support sites and there is nothing there to help me. I don't want to dump Firefox, but I cannot continue with it behaving as it does now. Is there anyone anywhere in your organization who can help me? Thank you.

I have a window home computer that was upgraded from w10 to w11. I had to buy a new w11 machine at my vacation home because the old one was not upgradeable. I was successful in moving the profile from home to vacation home. But a month later I corrupted w11 on my new vacation machine while loading my earlier version of Adobe Photoshop from their instilling disk. W11 could not be repaired and I had to reinstall new w11 while keeping my files etc. This time Thunderbird would not let me move/use my old profile file. No mater what I tried!!

In the past, I've always moved the profile file "Thunderbird" in Appdata file to the new machine and renaming the installed Thunderbird file with XXX after it. It always worked in the past. My profile file is over 2mb. I've tried using all of the logical import options in this new instillations and only get error messages that it could not import the data and to look at the error console? Which I don't know where that is located. I will look for it in w11.

I think that the only difference (which I don't think should make a difference) is the directory name file difference after "users"

Any help would be much appreciated!!!!!!!

no matter what i enter in settings, any time i minimize thunderbird in win 11 to tray, and then click on its tray icon to reopen it, it opens at this odd sizing every time. i always put it fullscreen again, and minimize, then go to open it again, and there it is, at the odd size again. no other program does this in my two machines. just thunderbird, and i have never set this size and placement, it just seems 'forced' every time, making me have to resize it every time i open it from tray.

I made a folder and called it April. One day the folder just disappeared. No one seems to help me recover the folder and i need it. Once I moved emails into that folder they are no longer available in my inbox. SO if you know how to recover my folder help, or if you know how to recover emails that were sent to a folder, that would work also. I use Windows 11 and I have the most recent release of Thunderbird. I use Charter.net as my isp which is pop. Thanks,Charles

I tried the Toolbar fixes in this forum and got the menu to show up, thank you. (Any menu in Compose mode had disappeared. Actually, both Firefox and Thunderbird icons on desktop and Taskbar had disappeared as well, and I had to reinstate shortcuts. This may or may not be pertinent.)

But when I try to add "Send" to the menu, using customize, the "Send" icon is nowhere to be found as an option, so I cannot add it to the Toolbar in Composition mode. "Send" is grayed out in all bold textmenus. If I use Ctrl-Enter, message does get sent. Using Windows 10, still. Perhaps this is an upgrade issue?

A user I am servicing uses Firefox every day. They are on Windows 11. Every afternoon (sometimes at other times), Firefox stops working and loses its internet connection (everything else on their computer continues to be connected).  When they close and restart Firefox to reconnect, it then tells me the user that they are using an old profile and need to create a new one.  They're able to re-log into their Firefox account, which eventually resyncs all their data, but they then have to re-sign into everything, which is a major inconvenience.  The only workaround the I have found is to reinstall Firefox, ever time this happens which then allows the user to use all their settings until they have to repeat the process the next day (i.e., everything remains signed in and/or logging back in is easier than described above).

Believe my T-bird account has somehow been corrupted. Takes forever to load on PC and always puts new emails in Trash folder. Often does not accept correct password. If I save / backup PROFILE, uninstall T-Bird and delete any Thunderbird folders on PC, if I restore per backup, will I be restoring the corrupted app. Don't want to loose email addresses, thousands of emails and email folder structure. Will a restore work? Thank you. Greg D

PS Version of T-Bird on laptop still puts all new email in Trash, but loads much more quickly, etc.

TB will import but does not display either legible emails nor attachments. I suspect GM at is fault. The takeouts seem incomplete at Zip 11GB. There are 2407 emails in my simple GM account a few with always Adobe PDF legal document attachments. I am new to Thunderbird so that may be a contributor but it looks very straight forward. Perhaps I am a moronic 82? I represent 11,000 disabled Firefighters pro bono in UK and Ireland. Grateful for any help please...Paul

Dozens of emails per day from a domain with firebaseapp.com in the domain. I cannot seem to get them to go to junk or preferably block them.

Thank you for the help! I'm wondering if other AI chatbots, Lumo, in particular, will continue to be added as options to the updated sidebar? An unofficial extension exists (https://codeberg.org/daskashk/lumo_ai_by_proton_chat_in_sidebar) that adds the ability for a link to appear in the sidebar. However, it does not offer the full integration that the official browser update provides to the other supported LLMs. I like Lumo for its privacy, encryption, and the ability to make "Projects." Von der Erstinstallation war ich gewohnt, dass von oben nach unten die Darstellung der Ordner wie folgt war: Posteingang / Entwurf / Gesendet / Archiv / Spam / Papierkorb / Local Folders /Postausgang / Unbekannt Nach der neuen Installation, die erforderlich war (Rechnerneuinstallation) ergab sich folgendes Bild von oben... Lokale Ordner / Papierkorb / Local Folders und dann alle meine selbst erstellten Ordner am Ende dieser Aufstellung kam die Zeile mit meiner web-Adresse xxxx.xx@web.de dann Posteingang usw. siehe oben aufgeführt Damit liegt der Posteingang am Ende meiner Ordner Auflistung und das ist über den unteren Monitorausschnitt hinaus, diese Situation ist für mich untragbar und deshalb werde ich wohl auf ein anderes e-mail Verwaltungsmedium umsteigen müssen. Eine Kopiermöglichkeit um die Ersteinstellung zu erreichen war kläglich gescheitert und jetzt ist das Durcheinander noch größer beste Grüße B. Bein

I am unable to send emails (but can receive). When I try to send an email with an attachment, I get the pop up that states "Login to server smtp.(companyemail).com with username icclabcalibrations@(companyemail).com failed". Once I hit "retry" twice, another message pops up that says "Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.(companyemail).com timed out. Try again." Once I try again, a third message pops up saying "Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: ...authentication rejected. Please verify that your email address is correct". I have made sure to check that the connection security settings are correct as well as the outgoing server settings. I have also edited my email and replaced it with "(companyemail)" for privacy reasons.
