I've tried changing/ shutting off the "shield" thing in the address bar to no avail. Most of the functions on the pages no longer work (The Player popup, Playlist page. etc.) Everything works fine on Chrome or my computer at work (Windows 10). There must have been a recent update to FFox that has hosed this page.

This is the penalty I'm paying to let you automatically install updates instead of notifying me of available updates I guess. Anyway here's the link:

Thank you, hopefully you can help me!

Firefox will randomly stop resolving google search results. At random times, no search entered at the top url bar will resolve. The browser will just change the text in the bar, and then won't do anything else. If there is a Google page already open, it won't load any links from the results. Google.com won't even load. This typically lasts about 2-5 minutes.

I've seen this in both Windows and Linux. Linux Builds I've tested were the Flatpak from flathub, the snap, the Fedora Repo, and the Tarball binary. They all had the same result after a while of using it. This also happens on both my home network as well as my work network.

I have cleared my profile by manually deleting the folder in appdata or in ~/.mozilla, and tested with no extensions and no setting tweaks. The only tweak I made is disabling DNS over HTTPS. If I change the default search engine to DuckDuckGo or something else, It no longer happens. but that's because it's not trying to access a google domain.

I have attached a gif of my issue.

First of all I don't know if i choose the correct topic.

My issue is that I like to help researchers by filling/doing their online quiz/forms/etc. They usually use this site for reflex test: https://pavlovia.org/ My problem is that you need to strike a key. Whenever I do that the f3 research box appears ... It's fun when you need to close it for a reflex test where seconds do matter. Is there a way to disable it ?

First, I selected Google to be my search provider, not Bing. So why does a Bing page show up when I want to use FIrefox?

Secondly, why do items I don't want or no longer need appear in my 4 rows of tabs I can click on to access that website? This is frustrating, especially when I can't get rid of one I don't care for.

Also, making this like Microsoft, where it may take some time to actually ask for help almost makes me want to go back to them. I wanted more than they had.

Hi all, For years, I have used Firefox to download audiobooks from Audible.com. I go to Audible.com, open my library, click download, and then a pop up shows the .aax file I'm going to download. The problem - In the past week, the pop up window now shows that I'm about to download a .mp4 file. That doesn't play nice with Apple Books or my iPhone. I've called Audible several times, but they haven't been able to help. If I use Safari, the .aax file is downloaded correctly. This is a Firefox issue. Any ideas here?

Thanks for your time and help! --Scott

Hi, I need your help. After cleaning all cookies and caches in my Firefox, I can't access with login and password to a current website. I can navegate through general web site information; however, when I enter my login and password the web site says: "Please try another Internet Browser". I used to enter with Firefox until I cleaned up all the cookies and caches.

I have a recurring problem with Firefox warning me that a perfectly safe https site is http and temporarily barring access until I confirm that I want to risk proceeding to it. The latest site to get this treatment is https://bloctel.gouv.fr/, which is a French government website. This is extremely annoying. How can I fix it?

My PNC virtual wallet account will not allow secure log in from Firefox browser. PNC customer support stated this has happened to many customers using Firefox recently. I've contacted PNC Virtual wallet support and this information will be forwarded to their IT support team. Someone from their team is to contact me within 72 hours. I recently updated to Firefox/Mozilla version 93.0. But this was occurring prior to the update. Can you please help fix Firefox with it's better security features so I can use Firefox browser instead of Microsoft Edge?

I am a web developer who makes websites on my local work station. I use XAMPP (Apache & PHP) on Windows. I edit my Windows hosts file to include server aliases like:

127.0.0.12 pierremarketinggroup

...and then I add a virtual server to the Apache httpd.conf file, so that when I type:

http://pierremarketinggroup/

...in my address bar, it will take me to the local website on my workstation hard drive.

This has been working for years on Firefox, but now, after upgrading to PHP 8 in XAMPP and some fiddling around, Firefox no longer respects the local domain, but instead will redirect me to

https://www.pierremarketinggroup.com

...which doesn't exist, yet.

Firefox does the same thing with all my local, virtual domains. Chrome, Edge, and other web browsers continue to work normally, so I know my Apache and Windows hosts settings are correct.

What I have tried: - Cleared content cache, restarted Firefox. Didn't fix the problem. - "Refresh" Firefox. I think this was a mistake, as I lost all my logins, but too late now. Even so, it didn't fix the problem. I type the local address into address bar, and Firefox doesn't read it, or doesn't look up the local domain, or I don't know what.

I used to be able to fix the problem by going to Privacy & Security -> Cookies and Site Data -> Clear Data -> check Cached Web Content -> Clear, and that would usually fix the problem. Now it doesn't fix the problem.

How do I force Firefox to look up the domain on my local machine, instead of redirecting me to an external (and usually unrelated) url?

I am a web developer who often writes websites on my own local computer. I use Apache web server, and using both the httpd.conf file and Windows' "hosts" file ( C:\Windows\System32\etc\hosts ) I can make an alias for 127.0.0.1, otherwise known as localhost. Because my name is greg, I can add a server name to my localhost, like http://greg/test.html.

This works pretty well, but sometimes when I add a new alias, like greg or gregory, Firefox doesn't pick up on it right away. I can go to http://greg/test.html in Chrome, and it goes to the local web page just fine. But if I try it in Firefox, it tries to redirect me to "http://www.greg.com". The usual fix is to go into Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Cookies and Site Data -> Clear Data -> Cached Web Content, then press CLEAR.

But this doesn't always work, and it seems like no matter what I clear, Firefox insists on not looking up my local server alias, but instead redirects me to https://www.greg.com.

How do I force Firefox to look for http://greg/ only on my local server?
