I use thunderbird through vpn to my work site. I am required to use two accounts, one to login to thunderbird and download messages and a separate smtp password to send messages.

After logging into thunderbird, the first attempt to send a message works fine. It prompts me for my smtp account password and sends my message.

The second and subsequent times I try to send a message, I get the popup error:

``` Once I restart thunderbird, I can send a message again - exactly once.

Other mailer applications using vpn to connect to our mail system do not have this problem.

Thunderbird does not have this problem when I am connected directly to my site's internal network, not using vpn.

My thunderbird Outgoing Server configuration is:

Those settings are consistent with my site's requirements.

I'm using thunderbird 115.12.2 on a mac running macOS Sonoma 14.5.

This problem first surfaced when I upgraded from thunderbird 102.12.0 to 15.4.1.

It really acts like things are configured okay, because it was able to send one message, but then something gets stuck after that.

Had a Windows update, and it apparently screwed up Thunderbird. Can't block delete messages, and the write message screen size changed - it's now all the way across the screen. That's just for openers - can't imagine what else might be screwed up.

Tried "troubleshooting" and it didn't work, and have no idea how, or if, the changes from the Windows update can be reversed.

Thanks very much for your help. I've been using Thunderbird for many years, but the mail has become almost unusable - if mail can't be fixed, what do you recommend to replace Thunderbird?

Hello, I just installed the new Thunderbird 128 nebulla to try it.

All my messages are looking fine except for one, which is displayed as HTML code (see 1st screenshot). In Outlook or in Yahoo mail (also see screenshot from yahoo mail how it should look like), it works fine so I don't understand. I haven't done any special settings in Thunderbird.

I also tried to change the 3 choices from the menu "body" inside this email (as show on my 3rd screenshot) (original HTML, simple HTML and simple TEXT) but this does not change anything.

The 1st screenshot shows the exact way it is displayed on my Thunderbird. The 2nd shows the correct display in yahooMail.

Hi, after upgrade of ubuntu to 24.04 i got into problems with using Firefox. I it running on x11 with proprietary nvidia driver, no matter of source package (snap or deb from the Firefox repository) and no matter of safe mode the Firefox gets frozen when clicking into any dropdown control in side page, the same happens when trying to open bookmark folder in the bookmarks panel or even the dialog that opens from the star icon in address folder that should add page into the bookmarks. When running on command line, in case of the snap version there are just some warnings of some missing css file, in case of the deb version it does not output anything suspicious. I was even trying to change the UI theme (qt) as well as GTK theme in case it makes any difference, but it did not... Thanks for any help.

It was barely noticable, but SERVER NAME in Server Settings was the same for both accounts. These were Yahoo IMAP accounts. Each account had its own folder in Users / ....... / ImapMail, but both accounts were pointing to one folder. Corrected this in the SERVER NAME field in Server Settings (see image)

"SHOULD" solve the issue .......... particulary it is THE ONLY item I can find that was not normal.

Hello, PG&E just updated their webpage and it doesn't allow me to sign in. It informs me that Fire Fox isn't a compatible browser, all other websites are fine. It suggests Chrome as the preferred browser. We pay our utilities through their site and we enjoy Fire Fox.Can anyone help resolve this issue? Thanks

Every-time I open up Thunderbird E-mail, I get a pop-up box that says: log-in to account failed (see attached picture) A little information about my situation; I have used Thunderbird E-mail Program for years with my Hotmail Account, without any issues! I have also used "AVG Virus Protection" and I have Windows 10 Pro. I assume something changed, to make it not work, but I don't now what that would have been, do you? Hi, Nearly all of the User Interface windows on Thunderbird are tiny. For example, if I open the "About Thunderbird" the window is tiny. Likewise, various windows with instructions that come up are tiny. I have been able to at least read messages and read the settings windows by cranking up the font size but this does not help in general. This feels like a display resolution issue but other programs are fine. So if I change the system display res, I expect other programs to be huge. I have seen some threads on this in the archive but for older versions. I am running TB 128.1esr (I think - difficult to read!) on an iMac running Sonoma 14.6.1. I just upgraded to a new iMac and my previous installation was on Mojave and ran a thing called Theme and Font Changer, which is now disabled (possibly some buried consequence of running that add-on is resonspible). Outlook sent me an email on 3rd July stating "Update your sign-in technology before September 16th, 2024 to maintain email access."

As of today, 23rd July 2024, I am unable to access my Outlook email account through Thunderbird as it repeatedly asks me for a new password. Is there any way to resolve this and continue receiving my Outlook. com emails through Thunderbird?.

I do not want to access my emails through the Outlook app.

Version of Thunderbird I am using is 115.13.0 (64-bit), on an M1 Macbook Pro running Mac OS Sonoma 14.5.

For about 2 weeks now my Firefox Desktop v. 128.0.3 (Mozilla-Flatpak - 1.0) freezes within 30 mins of use.

No good waiting, nothing responds except the exit button.

Clearly, there's a flaw in a recent update.

I'm on Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS and my Firefox is from Flatpak.

While writing this I got a Flatpak update for Firefox and Firefox.Locale - whatever that is.

So I'll park my question till I close and reopen Firefox - hopefully with a release from the big freeze-up.

I am a 20-year (give or take) user of Thunderbird, and it is getting almost unusable.

I am hopeful someone can help.

A lot of context....

My principal account is at Comcast (POP3; normal password), but a consulting gig has caused me to add a Outlook account (POP3; OAuth2). And I think that (along with Thunderbird updates within the past year) are the cause of my issues. And the only circumvention I have found is restarting. And yes, I have a large, multi-decade collection of e-mails in about 100 local folders.

Issues that appear intermittently:

1) Pauses (for instance, while composing e-mails) lasting up to 15 seconds where Thunderbird is unresponsive to keystrokes or other UI gestures. 2) Sometimes there are permanent "(Not responding)" lockups. Also there are times where the address book is inaccessible until Thunderbird is closed and restarted. Restarting is also the frequent cure for the persistent authentication issues. 3) Inability to access address book implicitly or via menu item 4) On start-up, generally both accounts get authenticated, but I keep getting nags to enter the Outlook password - If I ignore the nag, it pops up every couple of minutes. If I enter the password incorrectly, it tells me, but if I enter it correctly the login screen goes away, but login screen reappears within a few minutes. 5) Likely in conjunction with (4) above, I intermittently cannot send e-mails outbound to the Comcast account, with Tbird complaining about authentication; reentering the Comcast password does not help until I restart. 6) If (5) above happens, when I restart Tbird, I have to reenter Comcast passwords, even though I always select "remember password" 7) nstmp folders keep getting created.

Hi. For the past few months I have been unable to play any samples from the Audible website in Firefox on my android phone. When I click the word "Sample" Audible opens up a new tab with their Web player and I always get an error message that is just a rectangular box with an exclamation mark inside a triangle on the left side of the box. (Screenshot attached.) There are no words inside the box and the only option is to close the tab. Since there is no actual message I'm not sure what the problem is.

Playing samples used to work fine when you could play them within their web page before Audible changed its system. I seem to be able to play samples on Audible's Web player in Chrome, but would prefer to keep Firefox as my default browser. I have tried deleting all history, cookies and cache; closing and reopening Firefox; turning phone off and starting again after an hour. I've also tried enabling autoplay, but that made no difference. I was thinking that the issue may be with my other settings within Firefox, but I can't tell. Any help you can provide would be great. I'm seeing strange coding or gibberish in emails. Here is an example. I have at least a dozen more:

I've hit the refresh button 1000s of times to get halfway through my emails I'm still a few months from current it downloads 1-3 emails most of the time when hitting refresh all. And most of the help I found for this stuff is very out of date.

Sometimes when I consign an email to the trash and then need to re-read it later, it's turned into gibberish. A tiny fraction of a recent is below. I've used the "repair text encoding" feature, without any result. If I scroll further down in the gibberish, there are links that weren't in the original email and would have had to be sucked in from other emails in trash, which I just don't get. I can go back to the email on my phone, but on my desktop, they are hopelessly jumbled. What causes this and how can I stop it? Thanks!

Thunderbird was configured to send & receive via Cox /yahoo mail. Worked until recently but can no longer send or receive.
