The the past year, I've been constantly prompted to manage cookies on various web sites despite clicking on the "Accept all cookies" link or regardless of what settings I change.

This has been happening on numerous secured web sites and on all my computers (I rarely use the browser on my mobile device to access secured web sites). In fact, it happens even if I click on a new page within the same web site. That is, I get the prompt with the choices of "Manage cookies" and "Accept all cookies" on a web site such as with a bank (not exclusively on banking sites) and, when I click on the "Accept all cookies" option, the prompt returns as soon as I click on a link to go to a different page on the same web site.

How do I get rid of this as it requires I act on it. I can't ignore it as it often blocks the view of a large part of the page.

I started using Firefox Nightly for the split view, and I'm a tired of this alert.

I skimmed the quick article about configuring the Privacy & Security settings, but it seems like this feature just isn't working properly.

It doesn't matter if I click "allow" or "block", the alert always comes back. I care about my privacy, but not enough to do this every time I refresh a page.

I'd be happy to provide any documentation, just lmk what y'all need.

I do not want Google near what I'm doing. I don't trust it. It is no good for uncorupted searches or keeping personal information off the dark web. I do not like how it infiltrates everything.

How do I stop it or do I need to find a clean browser. I got rid of Brave cause Google took it over. FIX THIS.

How to completely remove Okta authentication automatic redirects from Firefox

I am an academic researcher formerly affiliated with an institution that uses Okta as its two-factor authentication service for access to institutional subscriptions (think Elsevier, Cambridge Core, Brill, JStor, etc.). Since I am no longer affiliated with that institution, I am no longer authorized to access that institution's subscriptions. I am not trying to access that institution's subscriptions, however, if I try to log in to these repositories as an individual, I am automatically redirected to my former institution's Okta authentication page.

The browser: Mozilla Firefox 143.0.3. I am able to access other sites on other browsers, as well as in private Firefox windows, which suggests it is a problem with my Firefox account. These are temporary workarounds I can live with only in the very short term. I am under no circumstances willing to switch browsers. I use Firefox for a reason. FWIW, I am also contacting Okta support to see what they recommend.

The computer: Macbook Air 2020 M1. It is a personal computer. I do not have access to another device.

I have cleared my browser history, saved form data, saved site settings, cookies, and cache (x5). I have deleted all saved passwords containing the email address associated with my former institution. I have restarted the browser (x5). I have restarted my computer (x2). I have reached out to IT at the institution (they are flummoxed).

I'm nearing my wit's end with this. I'm working on multiple projects with multiple deadlines. The temporary workaround and constant barrier to access are driving me up the wall. I will be infinitely grateful for a permanent solution to this hellish problem.

I can't delete some websites from advanced tracking protection, I type in a website but it doesn't add it to the list. One site is mail.proton.me. Even the ones that are added still don't load when I open Firefox, they are telling me I have connectivity issues. This has only started happening since the last updat. Everything work perfectly on Chrome! What is the point of having tabs and pinning them if you have to open them manually every time you log on?
