I love Firefox and generally really appreciate the way y'all operate as a company and developer.
However, I really don't like this new function to add tabs to a group. Since it rolled out, I'm always adding tabs into groups when I don't mean to. Really, it's creating a group almost every time I move a tab around. If I delete the group, it's just more clicks and distractions to deal with.
In the past, when you've rolled out new features like this, you've also made it very easy to turn off any new feature we don't like. But I can't figure out how to turn this off. Is it possible?
Thanks for your help.
I did not ask for tab groups and i do not appreciate them being automatically enabled!

Using Firefox 145.0 (64-bit), "Firefox is up to date" on PC with Windows 11 Pro.
I was so pleased when Firefox's Group Tabs arrived. I often have about 12 tabs open to do Railway research. So I thought, Group Tab, great idea. Save a group of tabs as one tab. Instead of creating a Bookmark Folder and each time opening all bookmarks from said folder, what better way to do than opening one tab. Or so I thought. I also created a "SHIP" tab for my hobby in the shipping industry, so I could have two group tabs that could be collapsed making the tab bar tidier. I saved an closed each group tab then closed down my PC. Next on restarting, Firefox starts up automatically as chosen by me. Both RAIL & SHIP tabs reappeared without me doing anything. Great! However yesterday, I inadvertently opened another Firefox window, forgot it was opened. So when I shut down my PC, I closed the Firefox browser and then discovered the over Firefox window I had opened. Closed it shut down my computer. Of course when I opened my PC today, Firefox started automatically, but with the tab that I had open in the last Firefox window. No problem I thought, I will just open the saved Group Tabs. It was a problem, where are the Group Tabs saved? Could I find the location? NO! I looked in Bookmarks, all the various History lists, even the down arrow to list all tabs. Nothing, the Group Tabs are none existent. I have checked on the "about:config" section for Group Tabs and everything is enabled "true". So where are the Group Tabs saved? I have been with Firefox for around 14 years, often citing it as the best browser. But over the last five years I find myself using Chrome more and more. Chrome has Group Tabs which do not not need the users to save them, they are saved automatically, and are easily found on opening the Chrome browser. Why doesn't Firefox have this?

After the latest update, when I move a tab to the start of the line, it shrinks down to something unreadable. Before, it stayed the same size, with tabs all being the same size as each other, that size being dependent on how many tabs were open ONLY. How do I turn off this "Feature" ? I liked it the old way. I don't even know exactly what to look up to try to fix it.
I also hated tab groups, with my tabs suddenly moving around on me. I hate having to do research and maintenance every time I get an update. If this keeps happening, I may just stop updating or go to Chrome or something.

Hello- When I am on a website and click link I would expect and want a new Tab to open-- I want it to open it in a new Tab and leave the page I'm on alone so I can go back to the original page.
Instead, Firefox overwrites that page and the tab with the a new one, and I have to hit the back button to get back to that original page. And most often the back arrow button is grayed out and I can't get back at all.
In settings, I've tried checking the box for: 'Open links in tabs instead of new windows' but that doesn't do it. I've also tried checking the box, 'When you open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately,' and that doesn't do it either.
I know that a work-around is to hold down the Ctrl key while clicking a link, but I'd like to set it as a default so I don't have to do that. That's a pain and not a natural function when browsing. To be sure, I want to click on links and that creates a new Tab without Ctrl Keys.
Thanks!

I don't want AI I don't even want to be near it. I don't want it lurking in the background of my browser. I don't want to waste a single processing cycle on even considering it. I never wanted AI, and they jammed it into my browser.
Currently, they popped up an ad for "AI Enhanced Tab grouping" and said that you can turn it off in the settings. I looked in the settings, and could not find such a thing. Searching for "Tabs" "Suggested" "AI" and other such related terms yields no AI things.
Why tell me I can turn something off in the settings if there is no setting to turn it off?
But that's just the start.
I want nothing to do with AI. I don't want to use a browser that supports it.
I WILL MAKE MY OWN DAMN BROWSER IF I HAVE TO. I QUIT GOOGLE, I'LL QUIT FIREFOX.
Mozilla used to be a safe-haven from all the bullshit other tech companies were pulling. And now this.
GET. AI. OUT. OF. MY. BROWSER.
I DON'T CARE IF IT'S LOCAL. I DON'T CARE IF YOU SAY IT'S SECURE. I DON'T CARE IF IT'S GETTING BETTER. I. DO. NOT. CARE.
GIVE ME THE OPTION TO PURGE AI FROM MY BROWSER OR BY FUCK I'LL FIND A NEW BROWSER.

Feature Request: Tab Groups in Firefox for iOS
Please add native Tab Groups to Firefox on iOS. Organizing tabs by project, context, or mood would streamline mobile browsing. Ideally, they’d support custom names and sync across devices for a cohesive experience.
I just opened Firefox and all my previous Tabs are not there. The Restore Previous session option is not available
Firefox works, but the tabs don't. You have to type in the address. I only noticed this after 145 came out.

While it may be obvious, for some reason it didn't connect. I was trying to group pinned tabs. It doesn't work. I have to unpin them, if I want to group them. If someone could add to it? I'm likely not the only one.
Thanks, Jan

Hello. I have a problem with Firefox (fresh install without extensions), which opens links from an external application (In my case Pepper for the discounts of online shopping) with an additional tab.

Is there any way to disable this with the help of flags?

1) First, how do I change preferences? Easy on my Mac desktop but how on my iPad?
2) I use Dogpile. I saw a notice that their website is for sale. Is that causing a problem in Firefox when going to one of the websites listed when I do a Dogpile search?
3) I went to a Reddit site using Dogpile. After viewing the Reddit suggestions etc, I tried to close out of it using the square box in upper right corner of Firefox. That has never before given a problem. This time when I clicked on it the tabs showed up as usual and with the x for closing them. Clicking on them did not close any of the tabs and did not show a flash, as if the tabs were nothing other than images. When I closed and reopened Firefox, Reddit was still the tab. I could not go to another website. This problem would not go away. I even closed and re-opened the Apple IOS and Reddit was still taking over Firefox.
4) How can I eliminate the requirement to enter passwords and all the security rigamarole when going to gmail, facebook and other sites?
5) Even now there are the number of tabs still showing in the square at the top right. There is a purple circle with the white eyes in it superimposed on the upper right corner of the box. I know that after I send these questions and go back to Firefox, Reddit will once more be in control.
6) Is there a better Firefox for Mac IOS than the one I now am using? Chrome is working better but I'd rather use Firefox.
