I have had Thunderbird on my HP laptop for several years. Everything has worked perfectly. BUT, I cannot receive Email, starting yesterday. When I click the Get Email icon, nothing happens. My Email server on Comcast is getting Email which I can see and read, but Thunderbird is not getting the Email. I would appreciate any advice.

Hey everyone,

I’ve noticed that on Thunderbird for Android, some of my email accounts get new messages with a delay of up to 15 minutes. I’d really like to get them instantly (or at least much faster).

A few details: - The email server is my university’s, so it might not have the latest sync features. - I set the folder poll frequency to 15 minutes, and emails do come through fine that way — just too slow. - I also set “refresh IDLE connection” to every 2 minutes. - Running version 13.0 of Thunderbird on Android.

Is there any way to make Thunderbird fetch or push emails instantly? Or is this delay just how it works if the mail server doesn’t fully support push/IDLE?

Hello, I would like help with my issue of not seeing the e-mails I sent on my mobile device through thunderbird in my "INBOX.1sent" folder nor my outbox. I have no evidence that these e-mails even were sent anywhere. I only see the e-mails that I have sent on the Linux version. How do I access the e-mails that I sent on my android version of thunderbird?

All gmail emails were downloaded to local computer via Thunderbird. It is expected that all emails downloaded to local computer via Thunderbird should be visible even after they are deleted from main gmail account. However, the emails that were previously downloaded by Thunderbird to local computer are no longer accessible/available for viewing after they were deleted from the main gmail account?

I have a POP3 account setup on my laptop and recently downloaded the thunderbird mobile app for android on my phone. I setup the android mobile app as IMAP to access the same server account as my POP3 laptop. When I look at my thunderbird phone email notifications in the morning, I compare them to the emails in my inbox on my laptop and find that the emails I see on my phone DO NOT show up in my inbox on my laptop ? I thought IMAP was NOT supposed to delete messages on the server when retrieved to my phone. My intent was to just read emails remotely on my phone but leave them on the server. I want my POP3 laptop account to see all of my emails and control whether to delete them or not after reading.

Please help me! I have expanded on the information which I sent few days ago.

1. Problem which needs to be solved: Starting on Saturday (Oct 18th) morning I have not been able to send or receive emails on Thunderbird. (I turn down my entire network for the night. On Friday evening, before I turned it down, I was still using Thunderbird without any problems. On Saturday morning, after turning the network up, Thunderbird did not work.)

I have two computers: a laptop and a desktop. On both of them I use Thunderbird for most of my emails. They have Windows 10 operating system. Thunderbird stopped working on both computers and at the same time.

2. MS Outlook still works On the desktop I also have MS Outlook. I am able to send and receive emails on the desktop on MS Outlook. There was no break in this software package working.

3. What happened in my email correspondence prior to this problem For about one week prior to Thunderbird’s stopping to work I received numerous emails – which appeared to be sent from my email address xxx@rushmore.com. These emails were pretending to be sent from various companies, including some warnings about my email which needs to be reconfigured or something like this. I deleted all these emails immediately without clicking on any links they would send. Unfortunately, my email provider (BluePeak company) did not catch these emails; they should had been sent to the SPAM folder on their server.

I suspect that maybe some of these emails, or one of these emails, created this problem. A virus?

I have done a full virus scan and it found no problem.

4. Error messages on the desktop when I try to send a test email:

When I click on [Cancel] I get this message:

Sometimes instead of these two error messages, I receive a completely different message: see attachment number 3.

5. Error messages on the laptop when I try to send a test email:

On my laptop the error messages are the same, except the number in the [Location] section is different. 587 on the laptop, 465 on the desktop.

6. My current SMTP server settings: Server name: mail.rushmore.com Port: 465 (Default: 465) Connection security: SSL/TLS Authentication method: Normal password User Name: halina@rushmore.com

Could one of you help me, please? I am completely “frozen” with being able to work on some of my projects; one important is organizing a big event and all my communication (high number of emails by now) are on Thunderbird.

Hi all,

I have an issue whereby emails are being sent to my clients repeatedly, without me sending them. This happens daily in the morning, and is incredibly frustrating and difficult to diagnose as the emails do not show in the Sent folder.

Clients reply on the email stating they receive the email/invoice every day. I can't contact clients to let them know to disregard the email, as I do not know who is affected. The only temporary fix I have found is removing their email address from my address book.

I have inspected the replied email, and I do not see anything out of the ordinary like changes in bank details, so it does not look like a email spoofing. I am wondering if this is not an issue with Thunderbird on my windows PC.

I am going to uninstall and reinstall Thunderbird tonight and try and monitor if this fixes the issue, but this will take a few days and I have tried everything (including changing password and turning on 2FA).

I have asked for and am waiting for an email as an attachment, to attempt to inspect headers.

Any advice or guidelines would be sincerely appreciated. Matthew

Wenn ich mit meinem Handy Apps öffne, werde ich aufgefordert, einen Bestätigungscode zurückzusenden, der mir per E-Mail zugesandt wird. Habe ich meinen PC dabei: kein Problem. Innerhalb weniger Sekunden erhalte ich den Code. Ohne meinen PC: unmöglich ! Auf meinem Handy erhalte ich die E-Mail erst nach mehreren Stunden. Bis dahin ist der Code abgelaufen, und im Zweifelsfall brauche ich die App nicht mehr. Wenn Sie mir nicht helfen können, die Zeit bis zum Empfang der E-Mails auf "Thunderbird für Android" ebenfalls auf einige Sekunden zu verkürzen, sehe ich mich gezwungen, ein anderes E-Mail Programm zu installieren. Ich war bisher sehr zufrieden mit Thunderbird. Bekommen Sie mein Problem nicht in den Griff, werde ich mit lautstarker Kritik nicht hinter dem Berg halten. mit noch freundlichen Grüßen: Ludger

J'ai des soucis avec une adresse mail, que j'arrive à connecter mais qui reste vierge. Les mails et les dossiers ne se chargent pas.

J'utilise Thunderbird depuis un moment, et j'ai déjà connecter 3 adresses (1 hotmail.fr et 2 hotmail.com) qui fonctionnent parfaitement.

J'ai récemment créer une adresse pour mon entreprise (outlook.com), sauf que cette fois, la connexion se fait bien mais les messages ne se chargent pas. Impossible de recevoir ou envoyer des mails depuis l'application. J'ai testé sur Win10, Win11 et Ubuntu24.

Les paramètres sont pourtant exactement les mêmes que pour mes autres adresses. J'ai essayé d'en supprimer une et de me reconnecter, en me disant que j'avais peut être trop de mail connectées sur l'application, mais ça n'a rien changé...

Ci-joint la capture des paramètres serveur.
