When I reply to an email using the Android Mobile App, in a thread that was created on the Desktop App, the email reply does not show up in the desktop nor the mobile app threads. It does however, show up in the thread in the Sent folder on both Mobile and Desktop.

It's as if there is no syncing of the thread to the Desktop or Mobile Inbox.

All emails are IMAP

I get a notification that includes this message when I try setting up my outlook account and this prevents me from getting mail to my email in Thunderbird, not past or new emails show up and I can only view an empty inbox, contrasting my other emails which work perfectly fine.

When I try setting up my email It says my username or password is wrong when it isn't and when it input, and that I have to put in my login. I put my login in and it says my username and password are incorrect even though my login info is correct I don't know what's going on, the error info isn't very helpful.

Whenever I forward an email, I end up with two copies of the forward in my "Sent" folder. I can't be sure, but I think this behavior started recently and has not always been the case.

New email and replies do not create duplicates.

Is there some setting I can adjust to stop this happening? Thanks.

I use macos sonoma and my email provider is hushmail.com . I have version 115.18.0 (64-bit) of Thunderbird.

I would like to get emails in Thunderbird as soon as they come. What setting should I use?

I tried - Server Settings -> Check for new messages every 0 minutes.

Lately, in the last 3-4 days, it has been really weird, the emails don't arrive in the inbox automatically. Just to give you an example, I looked in the inbox at around 9:00am and I had to click the download button (the one with the cloud) and I got messages that arrived around 7:30am.

While writing this message I just upgraded to version 140.6.0esr (64-bit).

Error message says user name not owned by me, but it is! How do I fix that to use my additional email address? Why would email from two separate domains be linked, especially when I made no changes to the account info?

I installed recently Thunderbird on my Apple computer. I compared the mails received from Thunderbird with the emails received from the web version of Outlook. I noticed that at least 3 emails, that I received with the web version of outlook, were never received by Thunderbird.

Some inbox entries cannot be deleted. When deletion is attempted the body text is removed but the Subject and Correspondent remain in the Inbox and the message is marked as unread. This seems to be mainly with email originating from Outlook. Tried restarting Thunderbird but no change. Is there a setting that might do this?

I have seen other peole have the same problem but they were given a nasty answer by soomeone called "moderator" and they have been asked to open again a subject of theyr own, even if the same subject was already on. So, here it is. I have one yahoo account in thunderbird under windows 11 home. At first, when I set this account and followed instructions, it worked, or so it seemed. But suddenly, it asked for a password when try to send message. I searched and found on the net to set authentication method to normal password. Did that and it worked. But now it starts again asking for password but not accepting it. For a while it worked with a password generated on yahoo site for thunderbird, but after some time it start working with the yahoo ccount password and now I can only get messages but not send. What is going oon with yahoo, is there a way to make it work and make it stay that way ? Thank you.

I have a number of accounts setup in Thunderbird, some are gmail accounts and some are Yahoo accounts.

After the last Thunderbird release one, a couple days ago, of my Yahoo accounts stopped working and wanted me to authentic it. It pops up with a Yahoo window to login. I tried to login with my username and password which didn't work so I went into Yahoo and created a new app password and tried that. It won't work either. I just get the message, something went wrong.

Then my other Yahoo account stopped sending out emails, just get a connection timeout message. Now my gmail accounts won't send out emails either. I can receive incoming emails, but not send out emails.

This is the message that I get when trying to send out an email now:

Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.gmail.com timed out. Try again.

I have searched and checked that my Outgoing server settings are correct for both Yahoo and Gmail. I have a different outgoing server for each email account and they have different unique description names. Cookies are enabled, accept cookies from third-party sites is set to Always. I had Auto-detect proxy settings, have now tried No Proxy.

I am using Microsoft Defender for my virus protection.

I was able to access my Yahoo email with Thunderbird by using the OAuth2 authentication method. However, I am not able to send a email using the yahoo outgoing server. There is no selection for OAuth2 for the outgoing server. I get the message "The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing server (SMTP) yahoo failed." What do I need to do to be able to send email via yahoo?

Emails seem to take a longer period to download into Thunderbird which means my emails with codes time expire before i receive them. If I go straight into my webmail at ntlworld.com they show up there immediately. Advice welcomed.

Hi i had trouble with outlook so changed to thunderbird for two email accounts i have. both are IMAP. one account works fine , old emails are stored asa re deleted and sent, however for my main (business) email, if i turn the computer off, i basically loose anything older than 5 days.

i have the settings set to do not delete, but it keeps happening. sent items are kept, as are deleted emails, so i cant understand what is going on. the account also clears the server so i cant bring them back from there either. any ideas? if it keeps like this i will have to go back to outlook.

I logged in to Thunderbird the other day and none of my stored folders were displayed. I logged in to my Virgin Media Email and they were all there. About 9 months ago I had a similar problem and it was resolved using my Thunderbird backup and help from yourselves. I cannot get this to work this time. Firstly I would be keen to know why the stored folders have suddenly not loaded when I start Thunderbird. Secondly is there an easy way to get the folders downloaded from Virgin Media rather than trying to use my backup? Thanks.
