Trying to use ProctorU with Firefox 104.0.2 on Windows 11 Home, and I am getting the following message : "Monitor Count : You may only use 1 monitor during your exam. Your monitor count could not be found". I searched for possible fixes, and someone mentioned removing fingerprinters, and possibly also remove cookies and tracking content from Firefox enforcement. I removed all 3 and that did not help. I also tried clearing cookies and site data and also cached web content, this did not help. Is there some other setting in Firefox that might be preventing the detection of the monitor count? Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?

Hi

I have a thunderbird with 3 google accounts and 2 ovh accounts Since today I'm annoyed with my google (no problem with ovh) accounts that ask me for my password every time I try to search new messages.

I confirm the password, I confirm on my phone that "it's me", I confirm that I validated, it seems to work but

- it does not retrieve my new emails
- it asks me again for the password the next time

I am in POP port 995 and SSL/TLS / OAuth2 I tried to delete the saved passwords, to disable the firewall I'm out of ideas...

Thanks in advance for your help

I recently installed Thunderbird on a Windows 10 desktop and setup a brand new profile from scratch with multiple email accounts.

It worked fine for 24hrs, with all passwords saved. Following an install of some other software (CorelDraw and Adobe Suite) the computer was rebooted. On starting Thunderbird it asked for all the account passwords again. Having entered them all, and ticked the box for password manager to remember them, none of them were saved.

I tried deleting parent.lock (which I didn't think should be present once the program has been shut down), key4.db, cert9.db and pkcs.11.txt from the profile and restarted Thunderbird. It requested all of the passwords again and again none were saved.

If anyone has any further ideas as to what could be causing the problem I would be grateful.

A few years ago, I started to need to enter a password (perhaps called a "universal password") whenever I wanted to access Thunderbird at a time when nothing was open in Thunderbird. I do not know why or how this started to happen (and it seemed not to be necessary) but I just learned to live with this slight inconvenience. But now I have a major inconvenience: I can send e-mails from Thunderbird but no incoming e-mails appear in Thunderbird. I have two questions -- 1: How do I get rid of having to enter this password? and 2: Could this have something to do with my not being able to receive e-mails?

So I've been a happy TB user for years, but then one day my company decided to outsource email to Micro$oft.

Still, TB could talk with the Office365 server and things were still good. But suddenly about a month ago, I could no longer connect and get email using TB, only receiving the error:

Login to server outlook.office365.com with username me@my-company.com failed.

The problem seems to be that my company now requires Microsoft MFA via a cellphone running MS's Authenticator app, and TB doesn't(?) support that.

My server settings are: IMAP, outlook.office365.com, port 993, connection security is SSL/TLS, and authentication method is 'normal password'. Outgoing email is via smtp.office365.com, port 587, authentication method is 'normal password', and connection security is STARTTLS.

I've asked the company IT services group about creating an app password, but they have a policy against that. Basically, their position is that they "don't support Thunderbird". Of course, I'm not asking them to support an app, just an 'effin password.

I know of at least two other TB users who are stuck on the same problem, and I think we're not alone.

Question: is there any hope? Needless to say, I REALLY DO NOT want to use Mi¢ro$oft.

Setup: Thunderbird v 102.1.2 64-bit installed on Windows 10.

A msg. suddenly appeared at the top of my ff general settings page saying "your organization is managing your browser". Upon clicking on it it appears that Chrome has taken over most of my ff settings and disabled some of them. I have NO organization; I am retired and have a personal computer that only I use for personal things. I have run numerous anti malware programs that have found nothing. I have restored the computer to a much earlier time. I chose Firefox, NOT Chrome. Please help me get rid of this. And please don't assume I have knowledge as I am old and not very computer literate so if you could use simple terms I can understand that would be much appreciated. If no help, what can I do next to get some. Thank you I am using Windows 7 home premium on an older Dell business machine.

I can't access certain websites when I attempt to leave feedback. I'm told to remove blocking. I clicked on the shield and turned off Enhanced Tracking Protection on those sites. I also added the sites to the Exceptions list in Privacy & Security (Manage Exceptions). My Browser Privacy Settings are: Custom Choose which trackers and scripts to block. ✓Cookies: Cross-site Tracking Cookies ✓Tracking content: Only in Private Windows ✓Cryptominers ✓Fingerprinters

But I still can't access the sites.

Which settings do I need to change so I don't get blocked by the websites?

Suddenly today my Thunderbird email account on my desktop won't send or receive mails until I enter the password. When I add in the correct password it doesn't accept it but just comes back asking for it again. I suspect it is best to change my password but don't know how to do that. Incidentally the account is working fine on my phone and tablet with the same password but not on my desktop. Can anyone help? Thanks.

I forgot my primary password in TB 102... None of the directions have helped me to remove the present primary password. warning, I am 70 and need hand holding directions. The directions I have found so far have to do with an earlier version. I have this problem. It just showed up after installing a brand new ARRIS modem exactly like the one I had. "Your connection is not secure" error when trying to log in to my modem's login page at the local address. There are several fixes that I saw, none seem to help. Tried the SSL refresh and it screwed up the browser. Now I get to figure out how I had it set up before the "refresh". Like I said this just started in Firefox and it prevents me from accessing the modem console period. If I use Edge it does not block me. (yuk) It does show a "Not Secure" message in the address bar but it will allow me to access my Modem. Why cant we get a fix for this. Its a local web address not on the internet. Should be a way to add to a allow local address list and ignore certificates or whatever else is causing it to block access.....

Email me when someone answers the thread seems to be broken on this page. I would like a email please so I can find a response.

Thanks! Roger

I have included a website on the list of exceptions for deleting cookies when Firefox is closed. When I go to the website the icons on Firefox for it show "enhanced tracking protection off" and "You have granted this website additional permissions". This website uses cookies to recognize my computer and not to require a one time password. However, when I close Firefox despite the fact that the website is on the exception list, cookies are deleted and I have to keep re-entering the one time password. I did turn of the checkbox for deleting cookies when Firefox is closed and now I am no longer asked to enter the OTP after Firefox is closed.

I assume this is a bug. Does anyone else experience similar issues? Is anything I can do about it and be able to use the exception list as intended?

Thanks.

Latest Firefox update 104.0 started displaying "This connection is not secure. Logins entered here could be compromised" again after previously being disabled. It's an annoying message that pops up on my intranet logins and I want it disabled again. I did the usual in about:config and set security.insecure_field_warning.contextual.enabled to False and security.insecure_password.ui.enabled to False like previously, but the message is still there. It seems that latest update is forcing this message and ignoring the settings to disable them. Please help!

About two weeks ago I changed my google password. After I did that, Thunderbird on my primary computer (desktop running Slackware-64 Linux) required that I log into my gmail account again. I went through the steps of entering my email and password, successfully completed the 2-step verification. and gave permission for Thunderbird to access my account. Instead of dealing with my emails as usual, I got a "Secure connection failed" pop-up window. Two strange aspects to all of this: 1) when I did the same thing on my laptop (also running Slackware-64 Linux), everything went fine and I can deal with my gmail account, and 2) the URL at the top of the pop-up window is for my wife's company, clsusonenterprises.com (see attachment). I've tried searching the various forums on the web with no success. Any suggestions are welcomed.

How can this be allowed to happen? This goes against everything private browsing is supposed to be.

I open a private window' log in to gmail, reddit, amazon, any site, etc; i close private browsing window entirely - removed from taskbar; i reopen private browsing and all my sessions are still signed in.

The fact that this is happening is negligent to the point of criminality. WHAT is the solution and why is this being allowed to occur?
