As title says, whenever I'm scrolling through any website there's a lot of flickering, did some research and past "fixes" said to turn off smooth scrolling and hardware acceleration, which I tried but all it did was minimise the effects, this flickering has only been happening for the last day or so.

Do I need Firefox 78.0.2 (x64) and Firefox ESR (x64)? Also I noticed I have noticed a very slow startup. I have an old Dell Vostro 460 PC. I also did a Task Manager and noticed five Firefox process. Can I shut some of these down?

My YouTube homepage is blank when I visit using Firefox (see attached screenshot). Here is a list of all of the fixes I have tried:

-Disabling all extensions and turning off Enhanced Tracking Protection (at the same time) -Clearing cache -Clicking 'forget this site' on YouTube in my browser history -Restarting my PC/Firefox -Refreshing Firefox profile (this worked, but the issue returned after an hour) -Changing my system theme to light mode -Launching Firefox in troubleshoot mode -Logging in on an incognito window (with the same result) -Probably some other things I'm missing (I tried pretty much every result I could find from looking up 'YouTube homepage is blank' and 'YouTube homepage not loading).

The issue only occurs on Firefox and only after I log in to YouTube. This has never occurred before. I checked to make sure my Firefox and YouTube settings are the same as they've always been.

YouTube videos load fine as long as I paste the direct link into the URL bar, but ONLY the video (no comments, recommended videos, likes/dislikes, description, etc...) and I can't take it out of theatre mode nor fullscreen it (fullscreening it just removes the top bar of the browser--the video itself still has black bars on the sides).

Sometimes when I reload the page, I see the following at the end of the URL: &ThemeRefresh=1. I don't know if that means anything.

I am using the Firefox app on Windows 11. I am not using a VPN. This issue is specific to YouTube and YouTube only.

How do I save my open tabs while compacting my inbox? They all disappear after compacting. I am trying to move my open tabs over to a different folder to preserve them, but I can't figure out how to do it.

When I choose an open tab from my Inbox to move it to a different folder, the folder choices on the left side of the interface go away. I there a way to move between folders? Drag /drop?

This happens sporadically, and seems to resolve itself without restarting the browser or even closing any tabs.

This happens on multiple sites, from search engines to Google Docs to Reddit: any time I try to copy text I get switched to a random tab. This has happened to me 5 times as of now, some of those occurring after a reboot. I use several browsers and when it comes to functionality I consider FFox to be the best however with 1 major drawback - it's speed / lag issues which is why I stopped using it as my primary browser and only as secondary one

I can have 2 different Chromium based browsers open simultaneously and while this impacts the performance somewhat if I open Firefox and another browser responsiveness grinds to a halt (sometimes even crashes)

Even just starting Firefox by itself takes 5x as long as other browsers

So I'm wondering is Firefox just more resource intensive or is there something wrong with my setup?

The main difference between my Firefox install and my other browsers is the number of Bookmarks (10000s) due to me having it installed for much longer so is it possible for a large number of Bookmarks to slow the browser down even when not open ?

Other possible causes I read elsewhere are 'Cookies and site data' (currently around 50mb)

I clear the 'Temporary cached files' & 'Browsing history' on regular basis so they shouldn't be an issue

The add-ons I have installed are NoScript , Ublock Origin & Firefox Color

In regards to troubleshooting is it possible to install a 2nd install on the same system simultaneously without overwriting the current one ?

Hello everyone. Google keeps telling me there is unusual traffic coming from my computer and requires captcha all the time. It only happens with Firefox and only when I launch a search from a blank tab, not from bookmarks. Environment : Firefox (last version) Windows 11 Family (updated), antivirus Bitdefender (support team does not detect any problem).

Please can anyone help me fix that ?

When I’m watching on private browsing and I put the phone on sideways there is this weird thing, and when you put it back on standup position my phone you can only watched on a small scale on the of the phone like on the search bar but when it’s on full screen

I've created a backup file from Outlook which is 17GB with my old emails. I can't find an easy way to import this pst to Thunderbird 137.0.2.

When I go for the optio "Import from Outlook": a) I instantly get an error that a trojan virus is somewhere in my PC and b) it stucks to 33% forever and after a while Thunderbird crashes.

Is there any workaround? Thank you Ev

I have a computer with a 5800X3D, 64 GiB Ram, Samsung 980 Pro M2 SSD, Windows 10 64 Bit with Thunderbird 138.0 (64-bit).

I changed to MailDir format because I have over 250.000 emails and the mbox format was very, very slow. I save all emails to the SSD to not have to check them again.

It works, but Thunderbird regularly freezes for around 1–2 minutes and isn't reactive anymore. The Task Manager shows that one core is used completely.

Can you look into the Thunderbird behavior if more than 200k emails are present? Thunderbird is fine if you just have a few emails. Maybe you can pre-cache it and/or use more than one core?

I cannot upgrade much more on the hardware front. Might be an even faster SSD, but then the vertical scaling would hit a wall.

As of lasts night Youtube has stopped loading. After reading some support articles I reset my browser and turned off nearly every extension and setting I could find and got it to load once, but then it stopped again. Navigating to Youtube brings up a grid of squares (which I believe should be stills for videos). I turned the extensions back on and tried turning them off one by one but I'm unable to isolate on that's causing the issue. Similarly, I tried settings one by one, but cannot find one that resolves the issue. Using the one normal open Youtube window I have, I am able to open a video in a new tab, but there is no menu on the left, no links on top no comments, I can't even like a video.

Tabs of Gmail not working in Firefox Browser even after clearing history, cookies and the issue persist after logging out and re logging in. The issue doesn't happen in other browsers.

Have always set up accounts so they download all messages to hard drive.

Since 3/27/25, it is as if it never officially logs the downloads as downloaded, so it downloads each day as if it hasn't been done since 3/27/25, marking all of the messages since then as new.

File is very large so want to try fixing without deleting entire file.

Tried the 'repair this folder' but that didn't work.

Having trouble identifying the exact folder on the hard drive to delete since there are several different accounts in the Thunderbird setup.

I have an Arch Linux installation with Plasma desktop. Software is always kept up-to-date. Sometime recently, Mozilla apps, Firefox nor Thunderbird, will no longer print, neither to pdf nor to network printer. These always worked before. Now, if even "print preview" is invoked, the dialog opens as a blank sub window with only the word "Print" in upper right, and at left center is "Preparing Preview with rotating time delay wheel, which never resolves. All other apps, including other browsers and mail handlers, will print without issue. I've tried the obvious checks with no success. Where could be the problem? Is there a helper app shared by Firefox and Thunderbird that could be the issue? The only potential remedy I have not yet tried is complete removal of both Firefox and Thunderbird, as that would cause re-configuration issues for both. It's necessary to press <ESC> to terminate the print window when it fails to respond. Screenshot attached...

I exported my profile to an external drive, then reset my Windows 11 PC. The resulting file is a zip file. When I import, the import starts, then stalls and gives an error. The error log is incomprehensible to me. How can I not lose my local folders and messages? I tried unzipping and importing that folder, but another error. I need help! Ideas? Thanks.
