I'll be staying with a friend whose ISP is Spectrum. Spectrum claims they have no idea what settings I need to change in Thunderbird in order to go through them to get to my ISP's mail servers. I'm assuming that there ARE settings that have to be changed because a few years ago, when staying with different friends in NY, I had to call their ISP (Verizon) to find out what needed to be changed in Outlook Express' settings. I no longer recall which ones.

I think that this problem arose only with the most recent update to Thunderbird, which I installed yesterday or today (April 22). When I hit the Enter key Thunderbird automatically doublespaces, which is fine for text as it separates paragraphs. However, I also will sometimes type my name, address, and telephone number at the end of the message, using Enter for each to line, and I cannot find a way to make Thunderbird singlespace at that time. Word processors usually have a "line" option that allows for this (at least WordPerfect, which is still the best word processor, does). I'd much rather have Enter do only a single space; I can always hit it twice to double space between paragraphs (I've been doing that since I first used an electric rather than manual typewriter).

I am a longtime Thunderbird user, currently running 115.6.0 (32-bit). Very recently Windows Defender is detecting malware it identifies as Trojan:HTML/Phish!pz. Defender is unable to quarantine or eliminate the threat.

The specific file is appearing in Volume Shadow Copy data when I am running backup: file: \Device\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy55\Users\fhanz\AppData\Local\Thunderbird\Profiles\sootdszw.default-release\cache2\entries\342F92977A0BA0715CB8880A9289BC8F8827262C

I've attempted several times to remove the offending file(s), but the problem returns.

What is the best method to determine the source of this malware and effectively eliminate it returning?

If it matters, I use Chrome as my default browser.

When trying to click on links inside PDFs, the url is changed to undefined, producing an error message. I have tried clearing the cache, troubleshooting, and get the same result in safe mode, and reverting back to Firefox default settings. And I still get the same result. I've attached an image of the error message.

As of Sunday, Thunderbird can no longer reach my ATT server to download email. It has behaved for ten to fifteen years. Last time someone at ATT fixed it. I have been on the phone or on screen with ATT most of my waking hours since Sunday. (In the process I lost my internet, my landline, my cell connection, etc.) Everything is restored except the connection between Thunderbird and ATT. Everyone thinks changing my password will do it. Done it four times. It gets me into the ATT mail. I have replaced the password in Thunderbird settings with it to no avail. Is there anything you can think of? Not only is Thunderbird more attractive than ATT, I have thirty years of mail boxes there, a continuation from Eudora. I will appreciate your wisdom.

I am using TB 31.7.0 on a MacBook Pro running the latest version of Yosemite. I use BusyCal as my calendar software (although I think that is not relevant to the problem I am experiencing).

When people send me an email with an ICS meeting invitation attached, the attachment does not arrive. I get the email but there is no attachment. So I always have to send a reply and ask them to manually type the meeting details into an email, and then send it to me. It appears that this problem occurs when meeting invitations are generated with Outlook. (That's a guess on my part.)

I've read through the forums to try to find a solution to this problem, and I haven't been able to find it.

Any suggestions?

After updating thunderbird a little week ago maybe - the program began to shut down suddenly - several times. But today there is no acces to mails, folders.. just an almost blank screen. Only the 'headers' are visibly - you 'Files', 'Edit' etc. is visbly. I'm an old Danish women with very little knowledge of reading and understanding complicated possible solutions - but I know how to install a program, so how can I find an older version to install, so that I can read and write an email again?

Now I have to use and old gmail-account and not my usual accounts.

I'm so sad...

Hello. I suspect there was a cyber attack on April 1 2024. All of a sudden, having problems crashing with more than 1 browser. My Brave browser would open, and then crash with multiple tabs that had been saved. My Mozilla history was cleared, and I want it back because I need to find all sites I have visited from time to time for logins etc,but they are now gone.I have tried importing all of my Brave history, login forms to Firefox, but not sure where to located them or where they would be stored.

Right now i am focused on getting a Firefox profile from before April 1

I have never had to deal with this sort of thing before so i am saying that i may be somewhat noobish on this.I just want some expert instruction on what to do here, and how to do it.I,m not 100 percent sure if i can do it correctly on my own by googling this myself, then attempting it.Brave continues to open then crash right after,so I dont know whats going on there with the userdata folder in the appdata folders with regard to Brave. Everytime i try to install an older version of Brave,it says i already have a curent version of it,and i dont want to uninstall brave then reinstall it again,or not sure if i should do this. ThankYou.

Long ago, I signed-up for Thunderbird as a POP service and have not looked at that until I see a warning that I have used 76% of my allocated IMAP space.

So, now that I somehow have IMAP, I am reading to learn about it. My understanding is that everything in my "Inbox" is automatically synced with files stored on the IMAP server, so that deleting them on one deletes them on both. Correct?

I have a large amount of e-mails that I "moved" to "Local Folders" and subfolders under that. I did not "copy" them to the local folder, I "move" them.

So, my first question is whether "moving" a file from my "Inbox" to my "local folders" has removed that file from my IMAP server?

If so, what I will probably do to free-up space on the IMAP server is to move e-mails remaining in my "Inbox" to a "local folders" subfolder marked something like "from inbox" to keep them locally available, but get them off the IMAP server. Will that work as I intend? To keep things simple, I will probably do that in batches, periodically, for all e-mails in the "inbox" that are older than some amount of time in the past.

Thunderbird will not connect to my bt mail. I have tried Mailbird, Outlook and others and they will not connect. I have checked configuration with BT and they say all OK. Have changed password - no change. Manually configured with password - no change. My PC has had a new SSD since and still will not connect. I have Broadband with BT so I get the same privaligies as Premium. I have malwarebytes and that allows them to connect. Up until a couple of weeks ago it worked OK and then suddenly it stopped working. Had my local Techie shop look at it - no result. They said it must be BT, but spoke to them again today and they say it should work - certainly with outlook. They recognise connection, but says either config or password incorrect. Changed password again, but no change. Can you please tell me where the problems is. Thanks

I was looking for an item that would be a couple of years back in my history, only to discover that my history now only goes back a year and 3 months… Exactly, as of today, I don't know if that's meaningful. Does anyone have any idea what might've happened, and how I can restore the rest of my history? Thank you!

I'm on a Mac using Mojave, with Firefox version 115.8.

I have Thunderbird Version 45.8.0 where after composing a message when I click Send, the message disappears nicely from the screen and the message is off.

However on the latest version 52.1.1 (32-bit) when I do the same action, Click to Send.. the message stays on the screen for a while and I have to wait for it to disappear before I can do something else.

Is this a case of different versions or is there a tweak in the new version that I can set up in order for the Send function to behave the same way as the older version?

It is getting quite annoying sitting and looking at the screen for the message to disappear after clicking Send.

Thank you for your help.

Dear Everyone, Facing issue with deploying Configuration Profile for Extension Settings via Intune. Tried ADMX imported template with adding there "block all extensions" and allow certain ones. Worked perfect in Jamf, for Intune failing all time. We are using Firefox v.121, policies are for v.120, but I am in doubt that this is the issue. Can someone review and let me know if there any issue or may be changes? Using latest instructions https://mozilla.github.io/policy-templates/#extensionsettings Also here is my OMA, very easy.

OMA used ./Device/Vendor/MSFT/Policy/Config/Firefox~Policy~firefox~Extensions/ExtensionSettings
