Firefox Nightly 110.0a1 (Build #2015925675), Sony Xperia 1 mk3, 61.2.A.0.382 release-keys Android 13

Been having issues with the refresh gesture, namely it activating when just trying to scroll up the page.

I'm not certain of the proper behaviour, but I've had pull down to refresh initiate with all kinds of downward swipes; fast, slow, short and long; and in various locations on the screen; centre, sides (close enough to also start back gesture), lower third; and even seen it wanting to refresh when simply tapping to stop inertia scroll, as well as when pressing and holding to keep screen alive for seconds before pulling down to return to the top.

Noticing it initiate, then releasing upward to cancel, then repeating the previous downward swipe intermittently triggers it again; sometimes it's gone, sometimes it triggers another once or twice, and one time it just would not stop and I couldn't scroll up the page no matter where on the screen I began to swipe down.

I'm presuming it's only meant to activate in upper third or even quarter, but regardless, this is a relatively recent (several days to a week, idk) issue that I'm dealing with, although it has become rife tonight.

Some websites seem better than others, and I was considering it was a fault of some designs, but alas I couldn't find any spots where I could consistently get it to happen; not even dragging from the top of the screen is working right now, so I have no idea what's going on.

https://ok2fly.com.au/ was a nightmare; tap anywhere to open a pop-up, scroll to bottom, then try to scroll up. I've got a great little screen record to demonstrate how inconsistent it is, if anyone wants.

Lemme know if there's anything else I can do to help diagnose this.

I have only 1 add-on, UBlock Origin. Whether this is OFF or ON doesn't matter.

HTTPS-Only Mode : OFF or ON doesn't matter.

I've also re-installed Firefox Android, no change.

Thanks, Rod

I just finished setting up my new pc with Windows 11 (Feb 2023 updates) and installed Firefox 110.0.1) and wanted to transfer my logins, passwords, etc, from my Android 12 Phone's Firefox 110.1.0, and other pcs. A window popped up giving instructions how to sync my phone, as follow:

      • Sync Firefox on you phone or tablet. 1) open Firefox on your Mobile Device. 2) Go to the menu (<ios>&<android>menu examples shown) and tap sync and save data. 3. Tap ready to scan and hold your phone over this code.***

I'm 73, have used Firefox since first release in 2004. In all these years I have never seen SYNC in the instructions to "sync and save and to point the phone at a barcode-thingy" or at least not in this world. The instructions made it seem like SYNC was right there to see, but I had to dig thru layes of options to finally find it. You can blaim it on my 73 yr old brain, I guess, but nothing like these instructions exist in Windows or Android firfox. What in the world are your programmers smokin' these days. I would just as soon open up Edge or Chrome and did up the passwords I need to log into my banking and creditcard accounts...heck, it seems like MAYBE I should just dump Firefox after almost 20 years and just use those other browsers. At least there instructions are much simpler that this ol' man can follow. Please have someone review your published helps info on your webpages, and help those Sr. citizens like me to more easily find what we need without calling up grandsons or granddaughters for help (their parents are worse than I am at most techy stuff!) I have the latest version of Android 13 and Firefox up to date on my phone, but there's been some weird behavior when playing videos as of late. Videos refuse to properly go fullscreen now. When I tap the fullscreen button, the video moves to the center of the screen but stays in portrait orientation, which is obviously not what I want. In addition, picture-in-picture is not working at all, and the notification control panel (that lets you pause and play minimized videos from the notification) is not appearing even though notifications are not disabled for Firefox. Videos still play, but almost none of the features for them are working. What is going on? Can anyone help?

Until recently (sorry, I don't know which version I upgraded from), entering fullscreen mode when playing back video (such as YouTube) would automatically force landscape mode, even with auto-rotation disabled. Now, there seems to be no way for me to enter landscape mode while playing back a video, without enabling auto-rotation (which I otherwise always keep disabled).

I realize that the desired behavior here can be subjective, but at least it would be nice if there is/would be a way of configuring this behavior?

I'm on Android 13 (Oxygen OS 13 on OnePlus Nord 2T), with Firefox version 112.2.0 (release April 24 on the play store).

Currently using Firefox Nightly version 111.0a1 for Android now when trying to open a link in another app it always shows a popup to confirm.

This was not present in previous releases and I don't know if there is a way to prevent this popup as it makes it uncomfortable. Is there an option I may be missing to disable this feature? If not, could an option like this be introduced?

Thanks and regards

I recently made the (apparently) foolish decision to allow Firefox to upgrade using the Play store App. This is on a Galaxy S8 running Android 9. Firefox 109.2.0 was installed and upon opening the App, all of my user data was gone. No tabs, bookmarks, saved passwords or other settings were available.

This is unacceptable. There appears to be no way to recover the lost information, but I am opening this case to determine if there is a recovery strategy. Of course, I don't really want to run version 109.2.0 and will revert back to something that works without losing data as soon as the missing data is recovered.

I'm not sure why the Firefox Devs seem to think that user data is a disposable and unimportant item, but I would encourage a full review of their processes to determine why they have failed so badly.

In the meantime, if anyone has a method that might be used to recover the old profile data, that would be very helpful.

Some notes: 1) No, I don't use Sync (or whatever they are calling it today) because it is a security risk in my view to have any third party including Mozilla know my bookmarks. 2) about:profiles does not work. 3) I'm not sure what version was installed earlier, but AdBlock Plus was working fine, so it may have been a year or more since my last update.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Good evening,

ever since the latest update (and the version before it) I've encountered a problem with pasting saved user names and passwords into the login brackets.

Expected behaviour: A website is loaded; the website is a login page for which I have saved user data. For the login id and password bracket each Firefox suggests the information via dropdown menu. I choose the specific data set, after which the brackets are filled automatically by the app.

Encountered behaviour: I choose the specific data set, but the information is not filled into the brackets. The user data has to be entered manually for each bracket.

Thanks in advance for the help!
