System: Windows 10 32-bit laptop

Problem: non-responsive UI on one laptop only. This includes inability to configure local options. nothing works. Menus drop down, but no matter what is selected, the selection does not highlight, menu hides normally but no action is taken by the browser

If I manually type in the url it sits there. no spinning cursor, nothing.

Browser does NOT crash... It simply sits there doing nothing. All other browsers work fine.

What I have done Restart the laptop Double check Firewall permissions Ran a scan before and after installation (0 threats found) Logged in as administrator as well as user account Ran performance monitor nothing alarming noted Uninstall and Reinstall. (Problem still exists)

I'm using Firefox v68.7.0 on Android 9.0 and my Samsung A10e. I've crafted a web-page that includes the following HTML snippet:

<a href="tel:2125551212">Phone Jim</a>

The page is located on the local Android file system, accessed via a URL of the type "file://...". Clicking on the displayed hyperlink fails to load the phone's dialer with the listed number.

This works correctly on Chrome v81.0.4044.117, Edge v45.03.2.4955, and Opera v57.2.2830.52651 on the same Android phone.

Thanks in advance for any clarity you can provide.

Version: 68.8.0 Firefox for Android Release

May 5, 2020

Firefox account is verified and syncs on Linux (Debian, firefox esr). On android (actually android compat on sailfishos) the account can be signed into but is always flagged as requiring verification. Have purged app data to no avail. Tapping the box does not send a verification email. Not sure what else to try.

Understanding the release calendar -- when does addon support go away?

Hi! I understand that Add-On support for Firefox for Android is going away soon, per https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2020/02/11/faq-for-extension-support-in-new-firefox-for-android/ and similar pages, but I cannot find a clear timeline.

I'm worried that one day I will take a Firefox update on my Android device and suddenly the addons I rely on (e.g. Tampermonkey) will stop working with no warning and I'll have no good recourse.

How do I prevent that from happening?

How do I find out when Firefox Android will drop add-on support (I guess this is like asking when the current Firefox Preview will become the release channel?)?

I have not been able to find an equivalent of https://wiki.mozilla.org/Release_Management/Calendar for Firefox for Android.

Thanks!

Firefox Android not syncing with hosted sync server

Hello everyone,

I successfully configured my own Firefox sync server on a Ubuntu server with Apache2. (see https://mozilla-services.readthedocs.io/en/latest/howtos/run-sync-1.5.html#howto-run-sync15) It syncs OK between different Firefox client (Linux, Windows 10...) but not with Android version. I configured the identity.sync.tokenserver.uri like on the desktop versions by looking at about:config. I double-verified configuration, but nothing sync. All the checkbox are grayed (see attached images) As there isn't sync log like on desktop versions (about:sync-log), I looked at my Apache log instead, and it seems that something goes wrong. Indeed, when a desktop client starts to sync, there are lines like: 192.xxx.xxx.xxx - - [23/May/2020:18:48:50 +0200] "GET /token/1.0/sync/1.5 HTTP/1.1" 200 3122 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:76.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/76.0" or 77.xxx.xxx.xxx - - [23/May/2020:06:54:40 +0200] "GET /token/1.0/sync/1.5 HTTP/1.1" 200 3122 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:76.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/76.0" but when android client starts to sync, it seems that url is incomplete (there isn't /token/1.0/sync/1.5 after GET): 92.xxx.xxx.xxx - - [22/May/2020:21:03:45 +0200] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 200 2579 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (Android 6.0.1; Mobile; rv:68.0) Gecko/68.0 Firefox/68.0" I suspect this is the problem, but I can't understand why. Your help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a lot in advance.

I upgraded my phone from the Samsung Galaxy S7 to the S10e.

I have my desktop and laptop set up to sync Firefox and both are running the most current versions.

My s7 also was set to sync and was working just fine.

I downloaded the most version of Firefox for Android on to the S10e. I've been successful at connecting the device to my account (it shows in the list of devices).

However, it is unwilling to actually synchronize. When I go to accounts, it says "sync: never" and the categories to be synced are grayed out (bookmarks, history, etc).

I've uninstalled/reinstalled, I've restarted the device, I've clicked sync in the laptop version.

I don't know what else I am missing?

Firefox Browser 68.8.1 on the S10e Firefox 76.0.1 on the Apple MacBook Pro (I don't know the version on my PC desktop, but pretty sure it's up to date)

Every site I try to load has the warning in the attached screenshot. Im trying to switch from chrome to Firefox permanently but I get this error on literally every website I try except Firefox.com.

It's literally the only thing preventing me from using Firefox permanently on desktop and Android.

I understand it's because it says https but even on chrome I connect to every site with https and I rarely ever see a warning.

Also Google is automatically sending any email from Mozilla into the spam folder which seems... Anti trust to me.

Thanks

I noticed that image quality on Facebook for Android is quite low, compared with other browsers like Chrome, I've searched for a solution on tech support and I've found the explanation on a 2019 thread (Facebook renders lower image quality on purpose). I think I've found a good solution and I'd like to share it: I've simply installed a user agent switcher extension on my Firefox for Android app and I've selected Windows/Chrome mode. Now the image quality is comparable to Chrome's.
