Some times a site pops up when surfing. Since a few weeks it's a site looking like a Firefox update. It asks me to click onto some thing I have no idea. The name is : mintstark.cool.

I can get only out of the blockage by shutting down Firefox by the task manager. I will try to take a picture with an external camera.

Same happens under the name of windows or microsoft.

Thanks very much for your assistance.

Firefox sent a message that said there was an update waiting. I allowed it to update, but the program completely changed. Also started running Utube files. I cannot stop these files - they appear nowhere. I have muted my speakers for the time being. I am also getting images instead of tabs. I am sure that Firefox would have advised me of an upgrade that went from text to images. This is why I believe firefox has been hijacked. Contact me on my email address, as I am shutting down firefox when I finish this message.

Opened an AMAZON link in Google search and popup says

"Virus Alert from Microsoft. Dial 833 334-6433 for and assistance..."

That Firefox page is completely frozen. Nothing works. But another Firefox page does work.

I've tried backing up to prior restore point, updating Firefox...

Any suggestions please. I'd like to just kill the one Firefox page for starters.

Thanks all,

My screen was hijacked by something lacked look like Mozilla/Firefox heading saying it was taking a survey and I couldn't get out of the screen. So I took the survey and entered my credit card info for a sum of $1.00 (one dollar) for a chance to win an iPhone. Instead I got a charge on my credit card from lstfl.com for $33.+ dollars saying it enrolled me in a sex site. That is NOT what I imagined. And it came under Mozilla/Firefox name. Can you go after this site as it is operating under your name and logo. Thank you

I have a persistent ad banner which appears only on Amazon and Ebay sites, and only in Firefox. It began just a few weeks ago, and for the first few days it was an ad for Ebates, but now it changed to advertise some epsystore.com I attached a screenshot of it. There is no plugin, no add-on which I did not install. I removed and reinstalled Firefox but it did not help. Has anyone seen this? Is there a way to get rid of this thing?

Accidentally got to “scareware” tab that refuses to close, flashing light, siren and voice insisting my pc should not be shutdown on pain of losing data. Trying to compel calling a “Microsoft Engineer “ at 1-844-387-0777 and or entering user name and password.

I regain control by ending process in program manager (Ctrl-alt-delete) but restarting Firefox brings me back to obnoxious tab again. Norton scan shows pc (running windows 7) is not infected with anything known. Other browser (chrome) works fine.

Hello, Been on my computer doing my normal web channeling and all of a sudden I get this guy screaming his off with a bunch of authentic looking pages from Microsoft saying that they had block my system and I need to call this number. I knew it was a scam and was told sometime back to shut your system down and come back later on. I did exactly that and I can get Edge and Chrome but when I hit on the icon for Firefox ,desktop, nothing happens.

I thought uninstall Firefox and reinstall but it gives me a message to close Firefox first. Cannot even do that.

Would appreciate any help you can provide, Thanx and have a great day.:0) Regards, MCG

PS. I'm not even sure how I got to this. If any of you have a solution this will help: x :0)

Hiya everyone, Well I got a virus today from a file that should of been safe? Anyways I have lost ALL my bookmarks and uninstalled-installed FF, Checked the APPDATA for them and the only file thats large in there is a file titled PROFILE which has a "Folder" and it has in it another file called CACHE2 and then when I go in there it has a Folder with just over a gig of files which must be my bookmarks but they are not in a JSON format or any readable file they are just "Files".

Can anyone help please as I have lost a lot of valuable bookmarks.

Many thanks.

Upon starting Firefox. (64.0 (64-bit), Ubuntu 16.04), an Addon, which I thought I had -but is not listed in my addons-, "{link to malware removed} , asked to send notifications. I usually deny, but as I mentioned, I thought I had this add-on installed, so I accepted. It then opened these tabs:

     1. https://win-big-bonus-here.com/?u=7pfk605&o=e93bvvr&t=1577914_proads_gambling.
     2. https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_1_20?url=search-alias%3Daps&field- keywords=Genius+surface+pro+3+charger&sprefix=surface+pro+3+charger.

I don't have this addon listed, either in my installed addons, or as an available addon. Where did it come from? And how do I get rid of it?

When I start firefox 63.0 32-bit version in Safe mode as well as in normal mode Firefox tries to make a connection to the website cnhv.co. After reading from various malware forums it appears that cnhv.co has links to crypto mining software and as well as the notorious conhive.com. Firefox does not attempt to connect to any other website apart from cnhv.co. When firefox starts on my laptop it creates 4 processes. One parent/main process and 3 child processes. All the 3 processes try to connect to cnhv.co website. Starting the firefox in safe mode or after resetting it still leads to the same behaviour. Only firefox exhibits this behaviour when I try to launch it and when I shut it down. Other browsers do not.

So my question is as follows 1) How do I determine which process or what setting or the location of the infection that is causing Firefox to connect to cnhv.co? 2) How do I fix this? How do I clean Firefox such that it does not connect to any crypto website at startup and shutdown?

Firefox 63.0.3 on Windows 10

The popup claims to be a Mozilla extension, but there is no such thing in the list of Add Ons. It seems to be a redirect which opens the requested webpage and the popup at the same time. It goes away when I click the X. But every time I change pages, I have to shoo the popup way like a fly.

The only identification within the popup is " r.svrtrack.com ". It requests permission for a "monetization" feature. Avast antivirus and MalwareBytes found nothing wrong.

I tried to upload a screenshot, but the wheel just keeps spinning.

My Amazon and PayPal accounts were recently hacked, apparently using Firefox Password Manager. I've since changed the passwords for the accounts in question and also enabled a password for Firefox. Attached is a redacted version of the hacking session. I have a few questions.

1) If someone's accessed my decrypted Firefox password file, should I assume every saved password has been compromised?

2)How do I get a list of all these sites if I do need to change the passwords on all or many of them?

3) Is there any way to tell if this attack was launched from inside my apartment or remotely? I think I know the DNS ip of my home system at the time.

Your help is much appreciated.
