Hello,
I have the latest version of firefox 3.6.17 and absolutely not intention of changing to 4.0 as the "features" are too much and NOT very user-friendly for my use of a internet-browser.
I have however this problem.
browsewithcaret:
Which ever way, I try to set this browsewithcaret, I works only one way; ALWAYS. I have this "feature", but I don't like it at all.
Could you please fix this?
I can not find a refresh button. Before you updated it was a blue button near the top left side of the page.
2-fingered swipe used to go backward or forward in Mac Snow Leopard, but it doesn't work now that I moved to Lion.

When all Firefox windows are closed (I can see my desktop) but Firefox is still the application with 'focus', the shortcut 'Shift-Cmd-N' doesn't have any effect. It should re-open the last closed window. This function does work when going to History -> Recently Closed Windows, but not with the keyboard shortcut when there's no window open.

Some time ago I let Firefox remember my Yahoo email username and password. Last week someone hacked into my Yahoo email account and used my email address list to send out lots of yucky spam to them. I have changed my Yahoo password, but now, just for safety's sake, I want to have that password blank whenever I sign in. How do I toggle the Firefox memory OFF so that it doesn't remember my new Yahoo name and password? I would prefer to log that name and password in myself from now on.

In Firefox 4, How could I move the personnal bar above tabs? Is it possible? Because personaly with the new tabs bar on top I find that it should be better to have my bookmarks on top of this. Thanks by advance. (ps: off topic, I just don't understand why removing things from the user: dropdown history list in the forward/backward buttons wihtout giving him the choice somewhere..)

My app tabs disappear whenever I restart or shut down my computer in Mac OS X. I don't have this problem in windows. I've looked through support countless times and no, my problem is not that I have "clear history" checked in my preferences.
Just a side note, I was really excited for Firefox 4. Seemed really cool and was very fast. This app tab thing was my favorite new feature, and I'm very disappointed that it doesn't work the way it should. And until this problem is fixed Mozilla, I'm going back to Google Chrome.

The download status is missing. Opening the download manager is not an alternative. I don't want an extra window to open for this. And I don't want to install an add-on.
A status indicator was built in as up to v3.6, but then disappeared with the disappearance status bar. It's ok to remove the status bar, because I don't need a status bar. But I want a download status indicator. Why don't you provide a draggable button/field that can be placed on top for example?
And this is not a solution: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/what-happened-status-bar?s=download+status&as=s#w_where-is-the-downloads-status
This is just a lazy way to chicken out. Provide a friggin download status indicator! It can't be that hard. It was already there, but you lazy developers thougth users won't miss it when it's gone? Wrong assumption, dorks!

The default Bookmarks Button is on the far, upper right side of the browser window on the Bookmarks Toolbar. It's distracting there, on the edge, in Siberia. I use it a thousand times per day. It's unnatural and distracting to always be turning to the edge, away from "the action". Is there any way to slide its location on the toolbar? Or at least put it on the far left where there's more "action"? I doubt I'm the only one with this instinct, otherwise the Firefox button and items on the usual menu bar (like File, Edit) would not always be placed on the upper left, not upper right. I'm not asking about the other, optional Bookmarks Button that can be put on the Navigation Toolbar which functions differently and more cumbersomely.

This seems like it should be the easiest thing to do in firefox but I can't figure out how to change the sites that appear in my browser dropdown list. Who/What determines which sites are in this dropdown. It's definitely not the most frequently used. I have sites in there that I've been to only once. Please advise. Thanks

When I try to open Firefox with the command line option -no-remote to get a new session of the browser I get the message "Close Firefox: Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system."
The window with the new session opens background but, just as I click "ok" in the message, the browser window closes.
