my old windows 10 comp died so now have a zorin linux computer I am setting up. Took the win 10 drives out of the old box and can usb connect them to the new linux box so I can search for files . Copied over the old profile folder and set up the new thunderbird linux install fine.

Then located the 5 groups of address books I use for my home business, vendors, subs, customers etc. they were regularly updated on a NAS, where I found recent version.

All imported fine except the largest of the group, customers, been in business over 40 years so have a lot. That import only had one item and was much smaller in size than the others which makes no sense since it has the most contacts.

Question: where else can I look on the win 10 directories to find those missing files?

Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks for taking the time to read this.

I recently donated to TBird but it is unable to send any emails. So I uninstalled it and tried to download a fresh copy but I couldn't avoid the donating page. I paid again but I just get a page telling me to finish downloading - but not how to do so. I've waited half an hour but nothing has been downloaded. If it's still possible to download TBird, how can I do it - preferably without repeatedly paying?

I got GREAT instructions from "David" just a few minutes after posting my question (Thanks, much, David : ). I followed his directions and was able to transfer LOTS of emails to a second computer. But the emails are from 2020-2021. The computer I copied the roaming file from goes up to today, 11/29/2024. How can I a get all the emails from 2021 up to 2024 installed on the second computer? I have received the .xpi file from LabStats and verified that the Firefox ADMX Templates are on the DC. I'm having trouble getting this to work though. Can I have someone look over the settings in case I missed something obvious? The GPO is enabled and set to a test group of PCs. I have ran GPupdate /Force each time I make a change and then checked about:policies & about:addons and never see LabStats show up. Thanks,

I shut everything down clicked on the update button - seemed to download and message had said restart so I did - then I noticed all my book marks were gone. Are they hidden ? Can I get them back?

I would like to know if there will be the monthly releases available as .deb package. I use the mozillateam's PPA, but I just get the latest ESR version there, and I would like to get the latest monthly releases, like we get with Firefox. Maybe create an official apt repository, similar to the one we have for Firefox?

SMTP settings for MYFAIRPOINT.NET (Server Name, Port, Security, Authentication). I have now spent 5 hours and cannot get Thunderbird to send a message through Myfairpoint.net. It used to work for years with no problem. My inbox with IMAP is working just fine.

Every time I open Firefox recently, and the Yahoo.com web page starts up, I get an annoying prompt from global privacy control, that asks to allow or not allow. IT'S ANNOYING. I went into the settings for that apparent add on feature, that I DIDN'T add, and set all 5 settings to FALSE, but the program still pops up. It ALSO screws up the format of the Firefox web page, and shows the Yahoo News feed totally different and it's also VERY ANNOYING HOW do I totally get rid of the global privacy control? I can select the Firefox settings under security to tell web pages to not sell the info, as far as I know, correct, so I don't need the retarded global add on? ?? I want Firefox news feed like it was before the update. Thank you very much... HOPEFULLY!

I turned my laptop on this morning and Thunderbird disapeared! It looks as though an auto update failed after the .exe file etc had been deleted. How can I re-instal (via my desktop if necessary which I am on here) without losing all my settings. The profile appears to be intact. Having re-installed, how do I connect to the profile which is on a separate disk?

Is there a set of instructions I can use to help me sort out login and settings problems. A wizard would be ideal but I am not starting from scratch, I just want to fix up errors I may have caused by changing settings on my accounts in order to overcome problems which have occurred recently. My original emails were with TPG who got taken over by the Message company. I had an idea that oauth2 was possibly involved in the problem, so I havechanged settings and now don't know how to fix it. I am still using Thunderbird release 78.6.0 (32 bit), (Dec 2020) on my HP/Windows 10. I would like to update, and I've copied profile, but I am worried about any difficulties. I was reluctant to update over the years because online I read about crashes and not getting the email program to work again. Or having to reload manually every contact or other issues that would be so tedious that I didn’t want to engage with the update process. If I can update slowly from one version to the next without problems, that’s fine. I would look forward to some improvements in the available formatting options but otherwise I really don’t care about integrated extensions or features. I mostly interested in the formatting that is available in Outlook. Thank you, KathyO

The last update did something to my search bar. I still have it, but when I click on it, it moves to the upper left corner, prevents me from seeing my tabs, bookmarks etc. How can I disable this annoying change? If someone has the answer, I would greatly appreciate it.
